Sometimes rigs just plain lock up or otherwise stop mining.  Most of the time this is detectable in AM.  I'd like to implement some kind of hardware-based physical cycling of power on a rig based on AM notifications/rules.  Does anyone have recommendations on what to use to achieve this?  I'm assuming AM is capable of this, even if it requires C# coding.  I haven't gotten that far yet.  The alternative is some kind of local heartbeat monitoring outside of AM.  This may make more sense anyway in case AM is down, etc.

I gave up mining this f.cking pool.
I tried to send ETH from my destktop wallet to Cryptopia and it has gone in 10 minutes. There is no problem ETN chain.
The main problem is that etn.nanopool.org

I begin to mining at https://etn.fairpool.xyz.
I adwise you NOT to mine on Nanopool. They dont send payments !

They've never missed a payment for me.

I trust Nanopool way more than the no name pool you linked.

Nanopool has been very profitable but in the last day I seem to be losing about 10% of my hash rate compared to previous.  Anyone else experiencing this?

Is anyone else experiencing a drop in hash rate at the pool since going to 0.8?  My pool hash rate is down about 10% and I can't figure out why.  I think moving from 0.7 to 0.8 is the only thing that has changed.

Ppl are paying crazy money for vegas with blower fans when new cards with customs fans are around corner which will be cooler and more quiet. Why pay 600 if you can pre-order 550-600 new cards?

Because a card in hand is worth two pre-ordered.

Where can you pro-order these?

Using a remote miner, AM says the interface is offline but the miner is running and the remote port is working.  Using Claymore CryptoNight.  It sometimes works but sometimes not.  I have another remote rig where it's working all the time.
In these scenarios it's often a good idea to try the API Report button in the toolbar, to see what the output is, or if the connection is simply being blocked. The Awesome Miner log file may also indicate if there is a timeout in the API request.
How did you verify that the report port was actually working here?

Just opened the port in Chrome, got the output from Claymore.

I don't think the "execute additional commands before starting the mining software" works.  I trying to get a simple .bat file working and it just doesn't work.  If the bat file contains "echo hello" then it runs but AM errors with "Failed to start miner process".  If I put in a short delay in the bat file (three seconds) then the error goes away and AM thinks it has launched the miner (but it hasn't) and a few seconds later attempts a restart.

What is the problem?   I can't possibly see how I am doing anything incorrectly.

Using the latest version of AM.

Feature suggestion:  would be cool if you could integrate with TeamViewer and/or VNC so you could quickly remote into a rig right from the AM miner list.

I'm mining MONA on a single 1070.  WhatToMine says it should be making $3.89 per day and AM is showing $3.93.  That's great.  But once or twice an hour AM will drop to $2.47 or something and then in a little while go back to $3.93 or whatever.  Any idea why this would be?  My hash rate is steady.  When I notice this happen I quickly bring up WhatToMine and it hasn't changed.

What does everyone use the Group feature for?  I am thinking I will use it to group my rigs by AMD and Nvidia GPU so that I can switch pools on a per-group basis.

HashParty is experiencing majority ophan blocks.  Sad!  It blows my mind that anyone is still mining there.

Cast 0.8 has been released, is it possible to make AM utilize this in place of 0.7 or do we have to wait for a new AM version?
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cast XMR 0.8.0 update on: December 14, 2017, 10:26:40 PM
Hi,

a new version is available:

Cast XMR Version 0.8 (2017/12/14)

  - kernel optimizations result in subtle performance improvements

  - --fastjobswitch option (experimental) to force fast switching to new jobs. When enabled the GPUs will switch to the new job within less then 100ms. This improves the effective hash rate by 1 to 5% as nearly no GPU performance will be wasted on calculating outdated shares anymore. The drawback is a slightly lower displayed hashrate as while switching no hashes are calculated.

  - improved support for more then 8 GPUs

  - support for Radeon RX 470/RX 570 (Polaris) added

  - --forcecompute option to force kernel for compute mode on Polaris (RX470/570/480/580) GPUs. In the Radeon Settings GPU Workload has to be switched to 'Compute'. This option is available in Crimson 17.10.2 (or later) driver and reaches nearly the same performance on Polaris based GPUs as with the Blockchain driver.

  - openCL platform is auto detected if --opencl is not specified

  - --nonicehash option to disable nicehash support

  - nicehash support will automatically disabled if more then 8 GPUs are used. Otherwise search space could be exhausted to early and the GPUs search in overlapping nonce ranges.

Download Cast XMR 0.8 for Windows (64bit)

Happy mining!

I like the openCL auto-detect, that was a hassle.  Any chance we could get the same for GPUs?  It's a hassle to keep having to set the -G parameters for each mining rig.  Most (all) all of the time I just want Cast to use every GPU in the rig.  If you do implement auto detect of GPUs I would recommend adding a switch to disable specific ones, just in case.

AM displays the profit of KRB @ 4.8 kH/s at $10 per day but WhatToMine shows $18.30.  That's a large variation.  XMR is much closer, less than a dollar's difference.

Gents, I'm having a problem adding a second PSU to run card #5(and eventually 5-8). I have 4 64s powered by a corsair 1200i, getting 8k hashes total. I'm using an add2PSU to connect two corsair 1200s. Whenever I add my 5th card using my secondary PSU, it goes unrecognized in windows. The 'Radeon' lights up, but there is no red light near the power cables.

To troubleshoot, I changed all connections to my second PSU so it acts as primary and it powers 4 cards fine. I've also added 5 cards to each PSU and they all hash fine - however it's far too close to the max watts. One time I switched two cards to the secondary psu - one card had all red lights on, the other just a green light but neither were recognized. The fans don't spin.

The problem lies with trying to get any cards in attached to the secondary psu to be recognized in windows. I'm using s Biostar Tb-250 pro. Anyone have any suggestions?

You have to DDU and reinstall drivers every time you add a new card (:

Make sure Windows automatic device driver install is turned off.   You will still probably have to run pixel patcher when you add or move cards but that's a lot easier than driver cleaning/reinstall.

I'm not taking credit for anybody's work.  I did however did the work for someone who isn't too familiar with compiling codes.

Scammer is someone who scams people.  I did no such thing.  The code is open source.  If you have a problem report it to the authorities or bitcointalk moderators.  Otherwise you are just making silly accusations.  Either way stop spamming threads.

You aren't including the source code nor the license file.  You are indeed violating the GPL.

So I have been able to get this running on my 11 4GB XFX RX 470s, I have one 6 card system and one 5 card system. On both I seem to get about 9% of my shares rejected because of "out of date job change". Is there no resolution to this? 9% is not a small amount either. This is well after 24 hours of straight mining. I get an 865 hash rate from each card 9% of that times 11 is over 870 H\s. In a sense I would be better off moving to a slower mining software with no fee or 100% accepted shares. Is there anyone that has this issue and has found a solution?

So was this the software just straight up stealing shares and reporting them as "lost because of job change" or is there a huge bug when the software switches to the donation pool to get its 2% cut? Either way this is an FYI to everyone be prepared to lose anywhere from 9% to 15% in shares because "Out of date job change" AND the dev fee of 2% this dev decided to include.

IMO fix your shares lost issue or remove the DEV fee.

I think stale shares are common with all miners/pools.  It's just that some miners (Claymore in particular) do a better job of hiding that information from the user.

You need to look at the hash rate reported by the pool.  If Cast were truly stealing shares you would see that 9% difference at the pool.  Better yet, try a pool that shows the actual hashes submitted and run a 24 hour test, that should tell you a lot.
