Can you explain why all of the candidates for Time's Person of the Year are bid at 9.90?

Doesn't this mean that they're ALL enormous favorites to win?

Shouldn't they all be Sells at 9.90 instead, as there's probably no clear cut favorite?

I'm sorry, but the whole "signed messages" thing has me stymied. I understand the results of signed messages (sending verifiable transactions) but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do it? I have been using google to try and get some easy to understand information and how-to's about this feature, as I have heard a lot about it for a long time and realize its importance, but the only stuff I can find involves writing in codes and going in to json files etc. which I have no understanding of. Is there a "for dummies" explanation of how to sign messages? something non-programmers might understand?
It should contain;
1. clients that allow this function
2. step by step procedure for signing messages

even the btc wiki on it is way out of my depth.

I'm sure I am not the only one here, ANY help would be greatly appreciated

I'll give you the link to the video that knybe gave me when I had this exact question:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S88ciN9DsRk

Shares transfered to AMC-TENDER.  Take care of me, Ken!
245  Economy / Securities / Re: [Bit Funder] [btcquick] [Rising profits] on: November 05, 2013, 05:14:40 PM
The company's performance right now is very UNimpressive.  We're right at the height of an enormous run-up in BTC price, and there have been 0 bitcoins available for purchase for days.

Couple that with the silence from Asenscion regarding the very serious issues of tanking share price, no liquidity, no word on dividends, no word on Bitfunder closing, no word on the typographical errors that litter the website being fixed, and it looks extremely bleak for btcQuick shareholders.

Havelock please.
247  Economy / Securities / Re: Bitcoin ATM Canada on: November 04, 2013, 11:40:51 PM
In case anyone was wondering, the estimated return from buying one share (0.5 BTC) after 12 months is $154.46.  ($96K / 40% / 250 shares)

So you'd get your money back after about 11 months and then it would be profit.

The question is, is that a better use of your 0.5 BTC than just holding onto it in your wallet.

Dividends paid out in BTC, I assume?

It's not clear, because the investment form on your webpage doesn't include a field for investors' bitcoin addresses to receive those dividends.
249  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] btcQuick - Bitcoin Sales Service on: November 01, 2013, 11:32:15 PM
btcQuick shares will not be lost, we have access to some basic info such as bitcoin address and the number of shares with that address. We are still working on this situation and should have a significant update soon.

I would suggest Havelock as new listing market. Them now being fully licensed and owned in Panama will make them a REAL player in the space for sure.

+1
+2

This Havelock deal is the only good news to come out of the bitcoin securities world in months.  Please God get listed there, we desperately need some liquidity for these shares.
250  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 01, 2013, 11:26:34 PM
I would prefer if they went ahead with the ActiveExchange instead of moving to yet another site. The share transfers have got to be a major waste of time for Ken & Co.

Really?  What are the advantages to the share price to keep them in an ActM-only exchange?

I would MUCH rather have the shares available in an open exchange where anyone can easily buy and sell positions, not a private exchange where only hardcore ActiveMining enthusiasts are trading amongst themselves.

Would you be able list ActiveMining, btcQuick, IceDrill, Ciphermine and the other securities that have recently been devestated by the closing of BTCT.co and Bitfunder (assuming they WANT to be listed)?

Dividends posted yet?  Predictions?  I wonder if the site has had an uptick in traffic over the past few weeks with the big surge in BTC price?

I was finally able to log in today.  The shares have hit pretty much rock bottom.

Ascension can you please at least make me feel better by having someone fix the "Fee's" and "bitcoin's" typos on the website?!?!?!?!?!?!
255  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: October 31, 2013, 02:47:00 AM
Thank you, exactly what I needed.  Gratitude = BTC tip sent.

I've read the thread and I've Googled the term "signing", and there is no clear explanation of how to sign anything from a bitcoin wallet, or which wallets let you do it.

Help a non-computer engineering brother out, please

I live in the US and would like to double check with you guys about transferring shares on Bitfunder ( since they are closing to US citizens ).  Sorry if this has been posted somewhere else, I'm just a little paranoid of transferring shares, since I hold a large amount.

Can someone verify the below steps are correct.

1. ) Transfer all of your shares to AMC-TENDER on Bitfunder.

2.) Make the transfer before December 1st.

3.) Set your public Bitfunder bitcoin address to an address that can be signed.

Is that it or is there something that I'm missing?

Thanks!

2.) Make the transfer before November 6th.

Is a blockchain.info wallet bitcoin address able to be "signed"?   I confess, I'm not familiar with that term.
258  Economy / Securities / Re: [Bit Funder] [btcquick] [Rising profits] on: October 17, 2013, 08:10:34 PM
Ascension please have your webmaster do a quick edit of the btcQuick webpage, there are two glaring typos.  It should be "Fees" not "Fee's" and "Buy bitcoins" not "Buy bitcoin's."

May seem like a trifling matter, but when we're talking about moving a lot of money around and building credibility, that sort of typographical error can push people away.

Thanks.

Everyone who didn't sell two months ago is down 10/100s of bitcoins.

We can either sell out at the absolute bottom (re: now) and trust in bitcoin's price increase to continue indefinitely, or we can wait and see our patience rewarded with huge gains down the road, which would mean increased share price AND increased BTC price.

I say if you don't need the money to feed and clothe your children, then leave it there.  These companies aren't going away

(disclosure: I own 10K+ shares of btcQuick, ActiveMining and CipherMine, respectively, so I am definitely feeling the nausea of seeing my portfolio demolished)

well multiply your nausea by about 20 and thats how I'm feeling right now. I can handle the share price falling it's the lack of info from btcquick that is really dissapointing

That sucks brother.  When this storm passes let's meet on your yacht for a couple rounds of single malt Scotch.
