...or BitFunder is also now an option.   Wink

https://bitfunder.com/asset/NastyFans

Very cool Ognasty! So how does this work? If someone buys seats on bitfunder the issuer of the pass-through (you?) buys seats on sale at nastyfans? Or is it completely seperate, if so which seats end up on bitfunder?

I am not part of any pass-throughs. There are no special nastyfans seats reserved for pass-throughs. I assume OgNasty is using own seats for the pass-through on BitFunder.

I'm getting very close to finalizing a pass-through on btct.co. I also plan 100 shares = 1 seat.

How it would work:
First the pass through would purchase seats through nastyfans. Then, shares would be put up for sale on the exchange.
The pass-through will have a publicly identifiable name in the list so seats held in reserve can be checked against number of shares outstanding.

Fees:
I will collect management fees in much the same way TAT runs his Asicminer Micro shares. 95% of donations received will be paid out.
BUT, as a bonus to Nasty Fans everywhere, I will donate 1% back to Nasty Fans.  4% will go to management fees.

And now for something different:

Has anyone noticed this:

Code:
Site Volume
Last 30d Total 145,387.38 BTC
Last 24h Total 11,877.03 BTC
Daily Average 4,846.25 BTC

145K BTC volume? Wow. Is that some kind of record?

Just wondering on the thoughts of possibly having a public asset list, similar to BitFunder? Has this been discuss? Benefits and drawbacks of implementing this?

Mostly unnecessary as the asset issuers have lists of all shareholders already.  If btct.co goes down, the asset can live on with little interruption.

True but it also serves an additional function: it allows shareholders to indirectly know XXXX account owns this number of shares. In the instance of Labcoin, many investors are worried that the asset issuer could sell off shares. The IPO contract states that they would hold 30% of all shares for ownership. This method would assist in that.

This is what Public portfolios are for.

Motion to split share 10 for 1 has started on BTCT.co.

Management recommends you vote for the motion to pass.

Please log on to btct.co and vote!

For Bitfunder shares only:
I don't think there is any precedent for this so please bare with me.
Currently there are 87 pass-through shares.
If you have Bitfunder shares, sign your vote (for or against) with your public Bitcoin address. PM your signed vote to me.

Votes must be received by 09-Aug-2013 00:00 UTC.

Default vote:
If I don't get more than a 50% vote "against" of all the Bitfunder shares, then all Bitfunder pass-through shares will vote "for" this motion to pass on btct.co

Summary:
If you want to vote "for," then do nothing.
If you want to vote "against," then I need a PM from you with your signed vote.

I know the Bitfunder part got a little confusing, but I hope the summary helped.
Remember: Vote!
247  Economy / Securities / Re: [NastyFans.org] NASTY MINING - Now ASIC/GPU mining BTC/NVC/LTC/NMC/FTC/IXC/DVC! on: August 02, 2013, 09:06:20 PM
Has there ever been any discussion about getting your shares on an exchange.  Like with a passthru or whatever?

As requested, a 1/100th NastyFans Micro-Share Pass-Thru is now available for trading on BitFunder.

https://bitfunder.com/asset/NastyFans

You should list it on btct.co
It is pretty difficult to get funds on bitfunder

I'd run one on btct.co if there is enough demand for it.
248  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTCT.CO][LTC-GLOBAL] Crypto-trade.com IPO and official thread! on: August 02, 2013, 03:21:58 PM
Pulled from the news on btct.co and litecoinglobal.com for convenience:
(apologies for the formatting issues)

Quote
Dear Shareholders,

Please find below a detailed financial report for Crypto-trade.com with dividend calculation:

BTC/USD
Volume    926.82648949 BTC      74257.60473761 USD
Fees      1.60340982 BTC           132.92111248 USD

....

[major long and huge snip]

I like the detailed financial report. Being able to see the numbers behind the exchange makes us (the investors) feel more apart of it.

That being said, I think a full report is way too much info for a btct.co / Litecoinglobal "news" item.
Personally, I think the news item should briefly discuss what Crypto-Trade is doing, talk about the dividend, and include a link to the full financial report.

Example:
Quote
Dividends are expected to be X, and will be paid on {date}

Crypto-Trade had a new record setting moth. The referral program is a success! There are now X users which is an X% increase over last month.
In the coming month, Crypto-Trade plans to do {new promotion}. This will be a boon to Crypto-Trade because it will {promotion details}.

The full financial report for this month can be found here: {link to Google Docs or Forum Post}

I'd like to see what they would look like but the word Depositary Receipt
I'm starting to get attached to it ^_^

I thought long and hard about that.  I finally settled on going with the more accurate term, and with all the -PT's in there people will figure it out quickly.

I like all the new category changes. I think "Depositary Receipt" is a great name for the pass-throughs.

Good work.

Growth oh growth where art thou?
Dooglus maybe knows? Smiley

I think that Dooglus could rotate his chair 30o from the SD screen to the JD screen and easily say where all the growth is.

I have to admit, I loled at that.
252  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Fenix. Hashing from the ashes of Bakewell. on: August 01, 2013, 02:57:43 AM
Do you need a smartphone to turn on the two-factor authorization? It says you need two-factor authorization to transfer shares, but I can't figure out how to turn it on?

It looks like BitFunder is requiring Google 2FA to transfer your shares.

Yes, you will need an Andriod phone or tablet OR iPhone/iPad OR Blackberry.

More info about installing on each OS can be found here:
https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/1066447

To setup for Bitfunder...
  • Click on your username in the top-right corner to go to your profile.
  • Then Click on the "Security" Tab.
  • You will see a QR code.
  • In Google Authenticator, select the menu option "Setup Account"
  • Scan the QR code.
  • If you did it right, you will have a 6 digit numerical code that changes every 30 seconds. This is the 2FA.
  • Type in the code into the box and click enable. If time is almost up or if the code changes, just type the newest code. You have 30 seconds.
  • Done.

You can setup Google Authenticator on multiple devices. Just be sure to scan in your unique QR code on each device. Then you will always be able to sign in with whatever device happens to be closest.
253  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC and BF] MININGCO.ETF - Mining Company ETF on: August 01, 2013, 02:03:36 AM
Hi Carnth. I think many issuers needlessly over-complicate their motions or news releases. Many(most?) give these only a passing glance and a wall of text will tend to get ignored. My split motion was worded very simply:

Quote
Shall bASIC-MINING institute a 10:1 stock split?
Given the recent share price appreciation a stock split may help improve liquidity.
This motion can be discussed here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=130982.msg2575562#msg2575562

This way you get your point across and leave an information trail for those that want to spend the time investigating. Just my take.

Cheers.

I like it. Do I have your permission to copy your motion text nearly verbatim?  Smiley

Does everyone else think creativex's motion text is the way to go?
254  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC and BF] MININGCO.ETF - Mining Company ETF on: July 31, 2013, 10:35:28 PM
Total dividends of 1.14657697 will be paid this week.

This is about 0.00462329 per share with an instant annual dividend yield of 14.05%

This week, all of our underlying assets have taken a major hit due to fears of SEC.

This has caused the NAV per share to decrease to BTC1.71

Future Outlook - My guess as to what's to come.

We broke 1 BTC of dividends paid for the fund this week!

This thread has recently shaken the entire Bitcoin asset exchange world. It definitely hit our fund very hard in the NAV. Usually people overreact and over sell. Then things slowly regain most of their value back.

I will be starting a motion to split the asset's share 10 for 1. Since the last motion was a disaster, I would like input from you. I want to make sure I word it correctly so everyone can understand. Give me you best ideas of how motion should be written. I'll also post a "News Item" as well.

MiningCo.ETF is available on BTCT.co and as a pass-through on BitFunder.
255  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC and BF] MININGCO.ETF - Mining Company ETF on: July 26, 2013, 06:12:21 PM
MININGCO shares are selling for less than NAV on btct.co.   Embarrassed
Shares are being offered for 0.2 less than NAV on Bitfunder, and still not selling.   Undecided

How about doing a 1:10 split so shareholders are not stuck in this fund, and may more easily liquidate/reinvest dividends?

At the moment, it's kind of a roach motel for BTC despite having amazing assets, unlimited potential, and superb management.   Tongue

I support some type of split, there is no liquidity at all currently with the increase in NAV and the rise in BTC value

My sentiments also. Its really time to split.

Checking with bursinde and Ukyo for what's involved with splitting.
256  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: July 26, 2013, 05:36:52 PM
First, I want to thank creativex for keeping a cool head. And I'm glad we are returning back the "normal" talk of what are we going to do with the coins.

woudlnt be bad to put on the 0.05% daily bonds of ukyo (owner of bitfunfer) and/or other half to just-dice which of course is risk that in short term can be losing investment but the longer it sits there the more likely we will make a lot of money of it.
I think you can put some (maybe 15-20%) in a not_so_risky place like coinlenders unless

Cognitive did this very thing "back in the day." They invested their excess coins with Starfish Bank (considered one of the safest places to leave your coins at the time).
Then Starfish Bank went bust along with Cognitives' and many other people's coins.

The safest place to keep bASIC-MINING's coins in with bASIC-MINING.

We're not an investment fund
I can agree with that.

I agree with this too.
257  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC and BF] MININGCO.ETF - Mining Company ETF on: July 24, 2013, 07:42:39 PM
Total dividends of 0.89080949 will be paid this week.

This is about 0.00356324 per share with an instant annual dividend yield of 8.66%

Increases to Cognitive have been a boon to our NAV.

This has caused the NAV per share to increase to BTC2.14

Future Outlook - My guess as to what's to come.

This thread has recently shaken the entire Bitcoin asset exchange world. It's definetily something to worry about as the US Government has become much more active in the "virtual currency" world.
Burnside is seeking legal counsel and consulting with Ukyo on this matter.

MiningCo.ETF is available on BTCT.co and as a pass-through on BitFunder.
258  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive Resurrected on [BTC-TC] on: July 24, 2013, 01:54:55 AM
In the original COG.F there was no such clause, but I do believe you bring up a good point here. How about we add this to the COG.F2 contract: "If said hardware is not delivered within six months from the sale of the first COG.F2 contract, all contracts will be converted into Cognitive shares regardless what the hardware situation is."

I would vote "No" on this. This allows for the possibility of existing Cognitive shares to be diluted.

Adding more shares but at the same time adding more mining power so hashes per share  go up = good.
Adding more shares but mining power stays the same so hashes per share go down = bad.
259  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: July 20, 2013, 01:06:25 AM
Ummm...bitminter just mined 2 blocks in 52 seconds. We received almost 3BTC for less than one minute of mining with our BFL gear. ;p

I believe I owe you guys some coin.

Great news! Queue it up for tomorrow.
260  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC and BF] MININGCO.ETF - Mining Company ETF on: July 19, 2013, 10:54:26 PM
About the assets included in MiningCo.ETF:
They have shown to have stability, and a proven track record of timely dividends.
This will continue to be the number one selection criteria for this fund. As such, most (if not all) brand new mining assets will automatically be excluded until they produce dividends, and show that they can continue to produce dividends for a while. This conservative nature of MiningCo.ETF helps it avoid most of the drama surrounding new assets.
