Warning :.. this web service IS available only for domestic [Japan] use and we do not support Non-Japanese People If we found you Are Accessing from foregin countries, we Will Lock your account and Freeze all of your balance Without any caution Please use foreign exchanges such as newchg.com alternatively. Awesome. So now we're stuck with newchg.com as the only exchange we can use to trade with without getting fucked over, and even then that's not a real exchange (it's just basically a spreadsheet that doesn't do anything other than list orders, trading still has to be done person-to-person or via escrow) and it doesn't even work (Can't sell or buy for less than 1BTC, which is obviously a problem). I wish I could say I was surprised. I get that the site might be having issues, but do they think that alienating western miners and traders is a good idea at all? I was actually about to switch back to mining MONA since I had finally gotten the hang of trading on that site, not happening now though. I'm done with this coin entirely once I sell off my remaining MONA. What a laugh. Probably to keep out the Chinese mega-rig dumpers. I should buy up all the cheap MONA and dump them there using my Tokyo VPN just because. Exactly, from the 2ch thread: 前スレで書いてたPump&Dumpが怖いな。 有名になったとして上場したら外人勢が一気に売ってくるだろうし、 それに耐えられるだけの市場価値(使い道)ができてくるかが勝負だろうな they are actually afraid of foreigns ruining their chance at crypto-currency. Based on Mona twitter feed, they OP changed the wording as to not be to brash...my version of Google translate on the exchange now reads: "For Foreigners :.. Provide We do NOT support any English at any time Non-Japanese speakers Are discouraged to use this service Exchange Sorry for the Inconvenience." So it seems less risky to use but without support....good luck

Has anyone had experience running an Antminer on P2Pool. It's got a built in Gui I think very similar to Avalons. Currently I only know how to set up stratum based servers. Would I need to SSH and change the settings to mine P2P? Thanks!

Good start, unfortunately not one entry...don't think I want to go first. Google translate: "It is a test current operational. I am looking for a human sacrifice who's a bug check." Japan should have a trade for Mona so at least there is movement...

use dedicated pools. i had no issues. Apart from yesterday's DDoS, nothing at all...actually I must say that dedicated has been good to me so far.

these are all avalon chips re-packaged and called a new name. nothing new. prob. avalon resellers.
Its not new innovation. you can call them whatever name you like.
I wouldn't call them scam because these products do currently exists and are selling like hotcakes in china.
And now China Alibaba has banned BTC trading...international markets in fiat will open in near future http://money.cnn.com/2014/01/09/news/bitcoin-alibaba/

Mona not getting an exchange is pretty pitiful. What gives? I see only sells, maybe that's why...anyone buying?

No fucked up launch they said.
No premined they said.
Wallet in advance they said
New ''miner'' they said.
Still 0 in 4
That!

The office space indeed looks a bit dodgy but of course this is the "bricks and mortar" portion in the UK...I cant really blame Alpha for not spending a ton of overhead in a high end area to properly register. The most critical aspect of the development is the technology which is obviously in India. Dexcel certainly appears legit. As already mentioned in this thread, I think it's important to carefully consider the DATA that Alpha and Dexcel have produced to date, two parts in particular 1) proof of concept publication and 2) prototype video. I am not capable of peer-reviewing Dexcel's concept paper, "Implementation and Analysis of Scrypt Algorithm in FPGA (Proof of concept)" (link below) but for those who have read and understand it, is the physics, math and code feasible? And as for the video, I did not quite understand what the dude was showing on the screenshot. Is anyone familiar enough with hardware to comment on the board and setup? I guess what I'm getting at is can anyone explain or comment on the feasibility of these two bits of data? This could be good to wait a bit before hitting exchange. Mona was NOT premined as far as I know and seems to have a good mine base although has been on decline on P2p.
There is very little marketing or PR and I think this is the biggest weakness. If devs have a plan they sure are keeping it secret. If no movement in the next day of so, I agree with prev post...what's the point is supporting?
|
|
|
So we are day 3 after launch and difficulty is going up., hash rate is good..it is time to push for an exchange.
It's as if the DEV released the coin "from Japan" but no follow-ups and no DEV seems to even monitor this forum!? Maybe I am wrong and the DEV is native english speaker but no feedback from anyone.
Along those lines, are there any Japanese/English speakers that can poke around Japanese mining/exchange sites and give an update to launch and adaptation in Japan? Does anyone know of an exchange in Japan for mona and is Mona even ready for an exchange?

How much luck have you guys had solo mining? I just saw this thread, downloaded the client, made the conf file and now I'm mining. Difficulty is about 0.43. So, I would think I should hit something every 40 minutes or so.
Will you please post your conf file details? I used the config file on page 7 of this thread. It's quite a long config file. I see. I'm learning to solo mine and not quite figured it out. I have the loong conf file in the monacoin folder (Appdata) and assumed I needed another conf file in the cgminer folder after opening monacoin-qt as server. Could you advise how many config files needed and where to save? Thanks
