241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) Fair & FREE Distribution | Pure PoS | No Premine! on: March 26, 2014, 09:14:15 AM
Thanks for the coins! It's great to see a new POS coin which can be fairly shared between members.
I doubt many users on here have more than 1 account with more than 50 posts - even so, they're not going to get a massive advantage if they have.

Good distribution method. No real way to game the system! Smiley

POS coins allow a level playing field for everyone - no big whales to corner the market here! Smiley

that was interesting.... someone just pulled ALL the buy orders on Bter.com down to 260SATS, and the Sell orders to 400SAT.

Someone is seriously playing with the prices.....

I have a couple of tri-x 290's which I'm struggling to get a decent output from.

If anyone can suggest how to increase these - they currently run at around 350kh/s each

Just one suggestion - why not write "Genesis Coin" in the title of this thread - it will make it easier to find when using the search facility on here.

I had to search via Google earlier today, rather than BCT.

Try to copy the whole directory where wallet.dat and the conf is to the pc where it isn't working and the wallet qt.

That worked a treat. It's syncing within seconds!

Cheers man

I'm another user who's having issues with getting the wallet to sync - "No block source available".

I've got literally 10's of wallets for different coins, so experience isn't the issue here.

Not only that, I installed the wallet on a different machine with no issues whatsoever - downloaded and synched within minutes.

The only difference I can think of - the wallet that's NOT working is the one without password.
The working wallet I tried was the password protected file.

the conf file isn't a text file (ie .txt), and I've tried running as Administrator - still, nothing.

:-(
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Faircoin - The First Fairly Distributed COIN , new EXCHANGE on: March 17, 2014, 11:10:01 AM
Now that the distribution has been confirmed as successful, you'll start to see a steady rise in the price of Faircoin.

https://nxt-e.com/default.aspx?m=fair_btc

The spread at the moment is 305 / 386 and rising.

There's always going to be some people with more coins than others - some play by the rules, some bend the rules, and others interpret them differently. Either way, for those who used your skills to get a better share, I personally call that "trying to get ahead". Honestly, can ANYONE here actually say they've never heard of a VPN?
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Faircoin - The First Fairly Distributed COIN , new EXCHANGE on: March 17, 2014, 10:34:37 AM
I don't trust nxt-e, so i want to sell 4000 FAC by now for 0.02 or best offer. I would accept also exchange with other coins. Contact me for a fair deal.

Nxt-e is trustable.   Believe me.

I've used Nxt-e.com for a fair amount of transactions, without a problem. So far I can't fault them.
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Faircoin - The First Fairly Distributed COIN -Vote for us on exchanges! on: March 15, 2014, 11:33:30 AM
For those of you who've not noticed, there seems to be some serious buying going on on nxt-e.com of Faircoins...... buys of up to 450 SAT's are going through today.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FlutterCoin FLT Official Information Thread on: March 15, 2014, 09:25:46 AM
I've been looking at Fluttercoin for the last few days, thinking to join..... well, today I have. :-)
Looking forward to seeing how this goes.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [USDe] Unitary Status Dollar eCoin ** MANDATORY UPDATE @ BLOCK 107,500! ** on: March 14, 2014, 06:16:13 PM
Coinmarket.io was using the wrong blockchain for some time and didn't update in time before block #91k at which we switched from 120 block difficulty retarget to Kimoto Gravity Well. We have given the community 10-11 days to update, and notified everyone we could about the update. If an exchange didn't comply, there's not much we can do. Coinmarket.io hasn't been the most stable of exchanges and has gone offline for many days too... which is why until it stabilizes, we have removed it from our Web Site and the first page of this thread.

hey guys

I could do with a bit of help here, I'm missing 144,854 coins I transferred out of coinmarket.io

This is my transaction ID
672b8ad58f4b1b8dbfe76ae0d0ea3dfbd72f150c6306b8597bfc4f83bf493a22

When I check it in the block explorer, I get nothing.

I updated to the newest wallet, as the old wallet showed the transaction as Unconfirmed for a few days.
Now the new wallet is up to date, I've got absolutely nothing showing the wallet any more..... Sad

Any help would be appreciated - I kept backup's of the wallets when I upgraded (deleted everything else in the appdata folder)

Cheers Smiley

To build on this, if Coinmarket.io is back up, there is hope of getting those coins again.  The owner/site would need to just resend them if they are on the new correct block chain and they should appear in your wallet at that point.  We did have quite a bit of trouble with Coinmarket.io as did all coins at the time - the site could stay up, issues with a great deal of wallets, and right when we were forking as well so they didn't take the proactive approach of updating it seemed.

Let me know if we can help; but do get in touch with Coinmarket directly and open a ticket, if they are up and running again.

Cheers guys - I'll give them a shout.
I know there's been a whole shed load of problems there, and I'm still waiting for a manual payout on my BTC from them, but managed to get everything else out - except the USDE. Will let you know how I get on Smiley

257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [APH] AphroditeCoin - boost of Cyprus economy - LAUNCH NOW!!!!! on: March 12, 2014, 07:42:10 PM

Government is centralized.  This coin is decentralized.  Therefore don't need government. If you envy the project proponent then launched your own coin.

haha. that's a great quote, considering the ONLY way to verify that these coins can be fairly distributed to the people of Cyprus is via the Government ID system.

I LOVE the idea behind the coin, it's just a shame it's built on false information. Sorry to say.
258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [APH] AphroditeCoin - boost of Cyprus economy - LAUNCH NOW!!!!! on: March 12, 2014, 07:38:31 PM
A repeat of what I posted earlier, for people who are getting lost in the hype......

Just a heads up to anyone who is considering mining / investing / trading this coin....

I have just had a good conversation with the Ministry of Interior, Personal Data department - Commissioners Office, in Nicosia, Cyprus.

I can confirm that they have NOT been consulted on AphroditeCoin, or any other kind of electronic transaction coin.

They did say however that their office takes account of the ongoing discussions of the Article 29 Working Party (see link below), regarding the electronic signature of individuals.

The Commissioners Office also states that currently there is no law regulating this kind of economic transaction, however if evidence of fraudulent financial gain is found, then this information would be acted upon.

Finally, they confirmed there is no publicly accessible database from which the Cyprus ID card can be searched.

So, to recap, from my research, the Cyprus Ministry of Interior, which is in charge of the security of personal data, has absolutely no knowledge of this coin launch, let alone been approached to work in collaboration together.

Make of this information what you will - I like to work with facts, not fiction.

Who said that this coin need Ministiry of Interior supervision?  Huh Huh

The dev states in #16 that:
"We have already spoken to the registration office and first impressions were that in case we can provide help with a stable currency they will collaborate with us. The registration office is very excited by our idea and would make possible that any Cypriot could get contact data from us at registration office to get their coins.

Anyhow, feedback was positive and in case of supporting Cyprus then the registration office would support us that every Cypriot can get their coins."

No-one's saying that this coin needs government supervision, but the government department that is in charge of the national ID and data protection have stated that they've not been approached by AphroditeCoin in any way - which completely contradicts the dev's own supplied information.
