241  Economy / Securities / Re: [Havelock][KCIM] Korb Investments – Establishing my Investment Firm on: October 22, 2012, 02:40:54 AM
That would be deduced by direct observation of events as they have unfolded. BFL if shipping by end of year will be just about six months into this the other efforts just started a couple of months ago and look on track to ship within the next month or two. From this One can safely assume that a turn around time of four months is possible. Now four months into next year is April 150th/s hits the market on to the next in August 150th/s more then December a merry christmas extra 150th/s for a total of 600th/s to ring in the new year.

Unfortunately this is all speculation as you've only provided your opinion instead of data.  Undecided

Not to worry though, I'll be rewriting my initial analysis to incorporate recent data releases and observations. This way, I'll be able to show a more update-to-date trend to back my financials. If you'd like to read my August analysis, it can be found here.

Opinion yeah right if you can/will not see what is right in front of you well take another hit off that pipe and go further into dream land. Don't worry though these fools are good at throwing their money away you will get some suckers I'm sure.
242  Economy / Securities / Re: [Havelock][KCIM] Korb Investments – Establishing my Investment Firm on: October 22, 2012, 01:07:51 AM

That would mean about a 21x increase in difficulty over the course of 12 months, bringing the network rate to 450TH/s+. That seems a bit more likely to me. Thoughts?

Totally unrealistic even if it takes four months for the next wave to hit and each one after that the same at 150th/s as the first then you have 600th/s online at year end. I'm thinking the next and each wave to follow will get better at the process and speedier as well so 1ph/s is totally doable next years end. BTW your math still don't add up.

Interesting mathematics. Do you have any proof of work or network analysis to show where you got your data? I'm curious to see what methods you are using to draw your conclusion.

Realistically, the hash rate will start off around 150TH/s and increase to 300TH/s over 12 months.

That estimate is screwed right off the top, first wave is going to be 150th/s at least if not more second wave will hit couple of months later with I will go a conservative 50% increase in units or 225th/s for total of 375th/s. You have time taking on average two months a pop for each wave arriving so that you can look forward to five more before the end of next year, putting us probably over the 1000th/s range in the year.

Fund Overview:
I'm looking to make a purchase of 5 BFL SC "Mini-Rigs" (highest end @ 1.5TH/s apiece). At the current price of $30,247USD each ($29,899 + $348 shipping), purchasing 5 rigs amounts to $151,235USD, which is a substantial goal to meet under some of the best financial circumstances.

To reach my equipment requirements, I am looking to issue 50,000 Notes, priced at 1BTC apiece with a buyback period starting at in March 2013 (Four [4] months after rigs are released to market, Two [2] after assumed arrival time) and extending to December 31st, 2013 (based on funds available).

Ticker Symbol: KCIM
Fund Location: Havelock Investments [HavelockInvestments.com]
Company: Korb and Co. Investments, LLC
Notes to be sold: 50,000
Price (ea.): 1.0 BTC
Monetary Goal to Raise: $375,000 [Any extra funds beyond equipment needs are used for Early Buybacks]

And this part boy that is some interesting math you want to buy $175k of equipment but the goal raising is $375k and actual 50k of BTC is worth ~$600k on the market, you must have went to the gigavps school of math only you increased your take here well they do say improve on the takings teaching..

Something about this bothers me.
Nothing malicious intended. It just... bothers me. My instinct was to place an order after reading that pre-orders for batch 1 were ending. After I let it sink in, I will be waiting.

I think I'm most bothered that "pre-orders end tonight" is combined with "I'll release specs immediately after pre-orders end".

Agreed. It it fair to expect customers to pre-order without having solid specs available to them? 800 pre-orders seem to suggest that many customers are ok with this. That is, of course, their choice and their risk.

Does anyone know the official refund policy? If someone has a bASIC preorder but doesn't like the specs that come out after midnight, can they get a full refund?

I would consider ordering a bASIC but without having specs on which to base a reasonable decision, I cannot justify it; unfortunately those specs won't be released until pre-orders are cut off ... thus I too will wait.

Yeah right it has already been mentioned full no questions asked refund at anytime ie. no risk to anyone ordering, so this supposed concern by you two has no basis in reality.

Why?  seems like a reasonable thing to do to ensure fair delivery to everyone instead of leaving you in the dark wondering when you'll get it.

Ah but that don't fit the FUD campaign by BFL so you get the concern troll expressed in that post, (Edit) another example of this technique below..

247  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Difficulty level for mining on: October 20, 2012, 07:07:24 PM
With the rise of the ASIC machines, the difficulty level will obviously go up.  I just don't think it's going to go up as much as the numbers I've been seeing ( !0x or more).  Perhaps the logic is flawed, but here's my theory.

The difficulty level will go up as the ASIC's are released, this will/should stop GPU miners if for no other reason that power costs, and insignificant BTC payout.  The GPU miners will slowly leave the playing field, which will "slowly" lower the difficulty, or most likely prohibit it from rising too quickly.  There will be a shift from a lot of miners to a few, as most miners aren't going to buy an ASIC's to mine with.  Most used the BTC to justify that gaming rig, IMHO.

So do you think the GPU's leaving will be enough to stop the difficulty from rising too drasticly?

and

Will the shift from a lot of people mining and making a little, to a few mining making more per person hurt the BTC economy? Or will they simply buy them?

Some numbers. 150th/s minimum ASICs on order right now or roughly 7x the 22th/s of existing network. Right there that is a 7x increase in diff once it is all deployed take into account the reward halving and your at 14x present day diff. If all gpus stop then your back to 6x or in present day 12x.

For anyone interested in leasing shares for a profit I would recommend checking out http://hashpower.com.

What kind of BS site is that having to link to some other damn site to be able to withdraw BTC, I'll get right on it. Christ it gets better now I read the link page gotta go begging to get code for site you link to get your BTC.

Edit: now see CST for time zone on transactions page, hmm the pirate time zone...
249  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: October 16, 2012, 03:27:00 AM
I don't have to defend it, our numbers are rock solid, thanks for asking though. Smiley

As for pre-ordering a bASIC, of course. I'm pretty sure Tom has BFL equipment tucked away somewhere.

I miss nothing you intentionally mis-read/lead with your take on that section where it is crystal clear you can back out for any reason if your not happy with the specs or lack thereof, go play the red herring game elsewhere.

I beg to differ.  Can you show me where it's crystal clear then?  Tom has clearly stated that the refund policy will likely change.  He has also clearly stated he will not give out power numbers until he has the production boards.  That's pretty clear that there will likely be no refunds after he gives out the power numbers.  Please show me where I am incorrect.

Whatever you do neither yourself or BFL any favours by trying this FUD/smear campaign. What is the matter pre-order money dried up has it? Well too bad that is competition you should devote your energy to shipping your products in a reasonable time frame for a change.
250  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: October 16, 2012, 03:11:00 AM
I didn't miss it, but I think you might have (relevant part bolded):

Quote
And yes as of right now I still have an open refund policy. If you change your mind on your pre-order just send me an email and I will process the refund right away - only 2 people have done this since I began taking pre-orders on 09/03 - and believe me my other customers will be happy to have your order out of the way  Also while we are on that topic it is likely the refund policy will change when we go into production because I am going to have to spend a LOT of money to have these boards made (the bASIC order count around 700 as of right now) and I still have to finish paying back the investor that fronted the money to have the chips made. When the time gets close to start production of the boards - I will give a weeks notice on the change of refund policy so anyone that wants to change their mind will have enough time to do it, however just like ModMiner Quad owners are happy as hell with them - I know you guys are going to love this little device. It was engineers in California who are at the very top of their profession. This is a really special product and you guys are going to love it.

Tom is saying he won't release power information until he has production boards... and his refund policy will change when that happens, meaning once he releases power information, you can't get a refund.  Seems a bit suspicious to me, but hey.  I just want to know if I can still get a refund if his power specs aren't competitive (and what competitive actually means).

252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: sroulette will be purchasing 10'000 PPC from Liquid00 on: October 14, 2012, 01:46:08 PM
Doublec has been running that code for well over a year and this is the first time I have ever heard anything like that. If anyone is buying this line I have bridge in Brooklyn for sale too, PM so we can discuss price.

As the amounts were below 1 coin for both balances we had no further interest in following it up, perhaps the fault is with us - it is the first time we have used a bitparking service preferring instead to use an exchange like btc-e or mtgox.

If you think buying ~$20 worth of PPC via forums (which we did for public record for our own benefits) could have any meaningful impact on its price..... well then i have some PPC to sell you. Tongue
We are simply here to promote gambling for bitcoin and other crypto currencies, if you dont like one (and we do appreciate there have been some StinCers in the past) why not use the one you do prefer, this is why offer a selection after all.

Whatever we both know what you were up to..

K sending now

Sent 10,000  Wink

thanks, payment sent.

Thank you i have received the payment  Wink

that was a quick reply, you beat me to the post Tongue

Of course you did there was no way to get them coins otherwise, it had to be through this forum with announcement instead of on exchange where no one hears about the trade. BTW the same coins on that exchange would have cost 1.5 BTC.

Wrong sorry, We did it this way because Liquid is 1 of  our clients and we have a pre-existing relationship. Also while bitparking worked fine for our initial purchase it then lost record of our account wiping the small amounts remaining. Rather than risk further issues, we purchased off 1 of our clients directly Cheesy.

And the coins would have cost approx ~1.7ish as the volume we needed was not there at the base price.

We are happy to support any alt-coin if enough of the community wants us to Smiley, there is nothing special about this purchase apart from we are now cashed up and will be increasing max bets on some PPC games.

255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: sroulette will be purchasing 10'000 PPC from Liquid00 on: October 14, 2012, 12:46:06 PM
what begins lol

pump & dump, announcement of a purchase, push the public perception of an asset.

BUY BUY BUY!!!!1

Haha, not at this volume I do not think Wink
We actually just need a bit more coin to handle the volume of bets (bots) we have been getting Smiley

Liquid if you are happy with a price if 1.85 BTC we shall proceed Cheesy

Anyone have better CGminer setting then this for 2 6950's?  I'm pulling 454 Kh/s on each card.  I think I should be able to get 500 out of them.

./cgminer --scrypt -w 256 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 7104 --intensity 19 --auto-fan --auto-gpu --gpu-engine 700-935,700-935, --gpu-memclock 1300,1300 --gpu-vddc 1.10,1.10 -o litecoinpool.org:9332 -u username -p password

Thanks for the help

Powersync

Have you tried --shaders 1408,1408 instead of  --thread-concurrency 7104?

Regards

Or --thread-concurrency 7040 even a 5x multiple of 1408.
257  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] BFLS - Bitcoin Mining & Sales on: October 07, 2012, 09:54:20 PM
Fortunately, since BFLS and BFLS.RIG were never designed as a security, bond or anything of the sort things are fairly easy.

Really.  That sounds like an admission that you intentionally misled people in your OP.

Quote
Initial offering of BFLS @ 0.7 BTC / share.  BFLS is a public offering for stock in an FPGA mining company with the ability to acquire the mining assets at any given time.

I love how everyone who tried to make their offerings sound legitimate by using language which has real world legal meaning now wants to have it both ways and claim that they weren't really offering shares, bonds or other securities, they just called them that.  Either you were offering stock to the public or you misled people by claiming you were making a public offering of shares.  You can't have it both ways.

He always made it clear you were buying share in the hardware less the administrative fees when converted or you could leave the hardware with him and just get the BTC produced minus the administrative fees. Unlike most of the rest that offered these so called bonds at 2-4x cost of hardware with no ownership stake in the hardware once bought.
258  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Problems using Bitcoin-QT on LiveCD on: October 06, 2012, 08:03:37 PM
Nope, I tried the 64-bit version and it didn't work. There are two disk to select at the startup screen. One of them just displays a blinking cursor. The other one has a menu with options for trying or installing Linux, but when I choose "try Linux" the screen just goes blank.

Did anyone else go through this process with a MacBook Pro?

Does that disk have EFI boot support built in? As that is the only way it will boot on a Mac, most use the El Torito/Syslinux BIOS booting.

Edit: One thing you can try is getting the virtualbox software it will allow you to boot an .iso image of the CD/DVD you downloaded and if wanted you can install the OS in a virtual one on your macbook pro.

The very latest in the saga.
