That's a good one.
Now, please add monthly/overall stats and I'm fully satisfied!
Seconded.

Seasonic, Silverstone and Corsair make the best high-end power supplies. Not subjectively speaking; Specifications wise. Everything else is practically junk compared to the top-line 850-1000W+ PSU's of those companies. Enermax has also top notch guts under the hood, though is a bit less known outside the US. http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/Nice site, they reviewed the 700w Cougar PSU: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Cougar-CMX-700-W-Power-Supply-Review/1317"The main problem with this power supply is voltage regulation. Starting at 560 W, voltages got outside their allowed range, what can make your computer behave erratically. We tested two samples, and both presented the same problem. Therefore, we can’t recommend this unit."

340mhz memory + worksize=128 seems to be the best combination. (BFI_INT + VECTORS + FASTLOOP=false)

330mhash/sec with my HIS 5830 card @ 1040/340
If I may ask, what's your ambient room temp for this mine, and how hot are the chips getting? Is your 'stock' voltage 1.163? On the one running at 1040/340: 70-75deg F. Open comp case with a big fan blowing air in and the card's fan on 80%. By stock voltage I mean it's factory default (not exactly sure and i'm too lazy to reopen the remote session to check). This HIS card is a champ. Chip stays below 70c. On the two sapphires, they are in a regular pc case and run a little warmer. They are running at about 80c with 65% fan.

330mhash/sec with my HIS 5830 card @ 1040/340
300mhash/sec with my 2 Sapphire 5830 cards (they are in my game rig so i'm not pushing them hard) @ 950/340
All stock voltages and stable.

Stay far away... read the reviews.
My advice on PSU's: If its not Enermax or Corsair don't buy it. Always remember a bad PSU can destroy your entire computer.
LOL. Spreading FUD i see... Spreading personal experience. I have seen PSU's go up in flames and I have yet to see a videocard or CPU do the same. Just trying to help people buy wisely. I recommend Enermax and Corsair because of my experience with them but there are certainly other good brands.

To be more specific, there are 29 reviews for this on Newegg of which 3 are 1 star ratings and 1 is a 2 star. The other 25 ratings or 86% of the ratings are 4star and above.
That may be so, but PSU's are the single most important component in your PC in regards to reliability. If a video card or CPU fails you just replace it. If a PSU fails, you will likely have to replace everything that was plugged into it (hell you may even have to replace your house in the worst case scenario). Given that, I don't buy PSU's with less than near perfect ratings and/or a brand I fully trust for reliability.

What kind of noise was it? The reason I ask is that I remember an old PSU of mine making a very nasty high pitched squealing noise for ~2 days before it literally blew up in smoke and deformed its case.
An old model Antec PSU was well known for that. I think it is the cap's starting to leak that causes the noise. I had one of those old Antec's in my case making that noise and I quickly replaced it before it failed but I had a friend that wasn't so lucky. Buy quality PSU's people...

I use BTCGuild exclusively, and have been having the problem that when a fresh phoenix is started, the GPU usage is a straight 99% line, but over several days it turns into a sine wave from 90% - 99% , which means the GPU's are not being fully used.
Could this be related?
Been having this issue also.

You know that you don't need the crossfire bridge for mining right? Unless he's running Windows and doesn't have or want to use dummy plugs. Crossfire hurts your performance when mining. People use dummy plugs because they have no choice. When I had 4x crossfired it was constant problems. Crossfire hurts when its enabled. Crossfire cables being plugged into the cards doesn't mean crossfire is enabled. I have the bridge plugged in on my main pc but have crossfire disabled in the driver control panel. Works just fine...

Depends.
I have a rig with a dual core Athlon X2, one harddrive, and one fan running two (very overclocked) 5830's on a 400w Enermax PSU. 400w Enermax is also not the same thing as 400w Chinacheap brand.
Spend some time learning about Wattage/Amperage/Voltage. Then estimate the power draw of all your factors (and at which voltage!) and make sure the stated ratings on the PSU sticker have enough comfortable headroom.

On both of my mining machines it appears that after 12+hrs the miners slow down by 5-10%. You can see this represented in the MSI Afterburner GPU Usage % graphs here: http://imgur.com/RCMZ4 The very spikey GPU usage on the left is when i logged into my machine after it was running for 20hrs and on the right was after I restarted the miner clients. This has been happening for weeks, I restart my miners every day because of it. Any idea what the cause is? It is going from a constant 98-100% GPU usage to 89-100% gpu usage spikes.

I use aggression 8 on my 5830 in my normal use PC and I can watch youtube/VLC videos no problem.
