243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BCN] Blockexplorer - call to arms on: April 10, 2014, 08:38:45 AM
DStrange, I've checked the wiki page and there actually are some methods that you've marked as "missing", except for "gettransaction".

What we really need is a decent web viewer. It is impossible to browse through the blockchain currently. Can anybody help?

I'll add 1,000,000 BCN for the work.

Seems like they updated wiki info yesterday. Thanks for your remark.

245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [BCN] Bytecoin services - call to arms on: April 09, 2014, 02:16:17 PM
Everybody knows that cryptocurrency needs an infrastructure, but Bytecoin (BCN)/CryptoNote (despite it's technical superiority over bitcoin and forks) lacks of any services at least at surface web.

I invite all of you to start developing open services for Bytecoin (BCN)/CryptoNote technology.

Bounties fund: 14 500 000 BCN and 2 BTC

Anybody interested can join me and add more BCN to this wallet: 27cSmhsS62RDfSHB4fsvVZddhznGK4xgr5vPHWV9QMtAeVCo4hmavfR4hy45hBDmPE9N1ZRNGWzS6an 9e66R2KsBFG2BYEb [updated 6/30/2015]
You could also donate BTC to the address: 12X6PXALnm9TJMp1p7UYZEakYZKdpFX4i6 [updated 6/30/2015]

We need:
1. GUI miner
2. Graphic wallet (similar to Bitcoin-QT, reward is 5 000 000 BCN)
3. P2pool
4. Translations into other languages (reward is 300,000 BCN for the translation). We need an Italian and a French translation. There are German, Greek, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian (we sent 300,000 BCN for each translation).

5. Blockexplorer (done by http://minergate.com pool, 1 000 000 BCN were sent them as a reward)
5. New logo&website (logo contest here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582743, reward is 2 500 000 BCN!)
6. OSX version (reward is 3 500 000 BCN)

Let's do it!

We donated 5 000 000 BCN and 0.3 BTC from our fund for creating an open source Bytecoin&Monero pool - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=589533.

246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN, not BTE] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) + Giveaway on: April 09, 2014, 08:36:39 AM

Not this type of giveaways... Anyway, I think there is no more coins left (I applied and received nothing :/)

Specifically, you are not allowed to give people any incentive to post insubstantial posts in your threads. You can't offer to pay people who post their addresses, usernames, etc. You can do giveaways off-site and link to the giveaway page in a thread, but you can't give people any bonus for replying to your thread.

Giveaway still goes on. 108,235 coins left.
I send free BCN to all people who apply for it every day. Except those who provided me with BTE addresses.
PM your BCN address and I will check if I have sent you coins.

So, like DStrange mentioned they are preparing the infrastructure for services that can be built on top. If the news is on the clearweb then expect it to be useable on the clearweb (and other regions of the web ofcourse) Wink

I didn't say "they are preparing the infrastructure"

I would rather say they are working with their infrastructure. I believe in large anonymous community of good people

I also see new message on bytecoim.org:

Important release!
Bytecoin high level API formalized. All the services and stores are strongly recommended to migrate to it.

services and stores? high level API?

I found that they have changed music on https://bytecoin.org/. Now there's something popular  Cool

Thats Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall

Also in the source this was added <--! Part2  13:4 ,5 ,16:3 ,16 ,19:1 ,15 ,22:3 ,11 ,5:7, 14, 10:5 -->

Is this something from the Bible?
Corinthians 13:4 "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant"
Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans."
Matthew 19:1 "When Jesus had finished saying these things, he left Galilee and went into the region of Judea to the other side of the Jordan."

I started a FAQ thread for BCN and CryptoNote, since all the info was pretty confusing.

It's kind of a summary of what we know:

Good work, thank you!

Intel Xeon E5-2670 (32core with 60gb mem)

I wish I could have the same. All I have is 1.0-1.5 h/s
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN, not BTE] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) + Giveaway on: April 04, 2014, 12:41:28 PM
As far as I understood the code, hashrate can be estimated from difficulty as difficulty / 120 (hashes / seconds). I.e. current hashrate is 640000 / 120 = 5333 h/s. An average machine gives about 5 h/s. We have 1000 miners just now and 500 joined yesterday? Looks like botnet started mining
I have some xeon's running at 40 h/s so it would take around 130 of those to match the difficulty, doenst sound like a botnet to me (yet)

btw anyone of you know something about the Stanford Bitcoin Group?

I heard of them. They do research into Bitcoin theory and applications: http://bitcoin.stanford.edu/. Pretty good TryBitcoin project.
Do you think they are Bytecoin authors?  Huh

Important info:
Today is my wedding anniversary ( it's five years since I have married the best woman in the world  Cheesy) and we gonna have romantic "no gadgets and gear" weekend.
So during Saturday and Sunday there will be no giveaway transactions.
It means only one: you still may fill the form to take part in giveaway. But you will recieve your BCN only on Monday (4/7/2014)!
--------------------------------------------------------------

Are there any volonteers to help me with giveaway?
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN, not BTE] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) + Giveaway on: April 03, 2014, 01:49:33 PM
Fellows, may be one of you will start a new topic on cryptonote technology?
It seems to me you understand it well (unlike me).

Updated windows binaries is now available
Release notes 0.8.3 :
- JSON RPC for wallet;
- fixed bug with blockchain storing;
- fixed bug with correct display of transfer's change;
- bug fix in simple wallet.

I think all of us here should update our binaries.
