Nem network currently doesn't look very promising: http://nembex.nem.ninja/#nodeshttps://i.imgur.com/ZHPGlve.png20 nodes are not visible from the outside, 6 nodes are stuck or running 0.5.4 (0.5.6 should be coming soon) From the 25 left, almost half of the nodes are dev's nodes. Launch won't make any sense, as any exchange should not list us with such a small network...

"Hammer and sickle" (even if humorous) especially combined with red background, can give some bad connotations... I wouldn't bring this up here :>

patmast3r. Exactly. Synchronization through cloudy services will be much faster and we won't need long hours to be synchronized. And the hard drive will be free from base of blocks. But it everything has to be at will. Who wants that let at himself stores the blockchain base. And who wants that let stores base of blockchain blocks on cloudy Dropbox, Google disk, Yunpan 360 servers, @mail.ru, Yandex disk, etc.
That is doable even now, just set nem folder to i.e. c:\dropbox. But I think this won't work, as I guess dropbox (or anything else for that matter) will most likely try to sync whole db file, and that would be painful...

There's a dumb bot that awards nodes that are visible (therefore useful) for the (test-)network.
You can see his transfers on nembex, by searching for TCU533AYH4TOIXGULHHWZDHHTYYAAXYEEZKF6334

just realised with our version of multisig, we can now do completely trustless, off-exchange trades.
the escrow is not even required to do a transaction.
the escrow would only have to step in during a dispute..
devs, you guys really kick ass haha
...
i think the current, initial implementation requires all co-signatories to sign. you mean like all 3 of 3 need to sign? is that not very risky in case an account is lost? no, N-1 cosignatories might decide to remove lost one. There's also downside: if you have 3 partners, 2 of them might conspire, and remove third one

I would like to remind everyone that when beta 0.5.0 IS released (which should be soon), the more you guys help test, the quicker we can get to actual launch. So please, everyone who wants launch to happen soon and without any issues, do everything you can to test the new beta as much as possible so that any possible bugs and glitches can be resolved for launch. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) also it'll probably be THE BEST way to test multisig before launch. And to understand the implications of it before you do it with actual NEM !!! although it might have not been clear, that is exactly what I had in mind ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Any updates about Multisig?
Devs are working on it but ran into some performance problems. No ETA on next beta-release. Actually we've overcome most of them I think, but there are still few more things to fix (regarding multisig itself and nem on it's own).

Quick questions guys .... if you have your real NEM address and private key how do you get the public key?
Shazzy
you should have gotten it when you created real account data? i dont think you actually need it though if you have your private key and address. you can always just produce new data and send to the new account after launch if there isnt a way to get the private key I didn't note it down like a dipsy but I do have the private key ... I wanted to verify if it was correct but the "verify" option requires public key hence I was thinking how do I get it... I guess closer to the time we will get more info on how to import from private key? send it to me I'll verify it for you ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Buying cheap and selling at more price is the trend.

quick and short update.
We're still fighting with multisig, it's working, but it's too slow right now (that's why testnem blockchain restart didn't happen yet) We need better performance to make it usable on a daily basis, otherwise we'd fall into problems quite quick.

Hello all,
just to keep you informed. Initially we've decided to do last beta + restart without multisig UI, but that would be pretty senseless, so you'll have to wait a bit more, but we'll try to provide you with some basic UI, just to let people play with multisig while still in beta.

The basic rule is that you don't implement your own crypto and use well tested implementation.
Do not mix implementing OWN crypto, with porting implementation.
