Bitcoin's price jump gave the prize pool quite a boost in season 3! And you guys increased the cup rewards quite a bit, right? Couldn't find the old overview now, but I think that's cool! 8 mBTC for the winner isn't pennies! Good job guys!

In $ terms yeah, but in mBTC I think the Cup is where it was last year. Percentage-wise it's a bit bigger part of the rewards, yeah.
The Cup is extremely difficult to win so we want to give it an elite feel as well.

Yes I am all for it, good choice. The league is already amazing and having the cup on top of that with some nice prizes to play for, keeps everyone in the loop.

@casperBGD if I am not mistaken, our duel came to an end when West Ham destroyed Freiburg. I was considering giving Freiburg a shot, but refrained from it. They didn't play bad, but it's one of the problems they recently had in the Bundesliga. They do possess the ball a lot - was the same today - but they don't know what to do with it in the opponent's half.

Good luck next round as you now had a bad start into this season and I could avoid disaster.

OK fellas, this season's rewards have been calculated and will be added into the OP.

Big thanks from me to Sportsbet.io and cryptofrka and Trofo as well. One of the most enjoyable things to do on Bitcointalk! Since we are all indeed sports fanatics, it is nice have Sportsbet on board. They take care to make the competition extra spicy.

You underated Porto thats why. Porto is a one time Champions League winner. They are tough as hell, with strong defense and incredible attackers. Arsenal had a tough time in the game. Untill Trossard the Hero came for Arsenal rescue at the 41 minute. I dont know but obviously history just repeated itself again. I could remember when Arsenal played against Manchester City in the community shield final. Manchester City were leading with 1 goal untill Trossard scored to equalize the game. It ended up in a penalty shootout were Arsenal won the cup.
In terms of quality, Arsenal is much stronger than Porto, but in the Champions League, mentality is really needed and Porto proved that, even though they had to lose through a penalty shootout, Porto did their best in this second leg match.

Basically, Arsenal is very favored because they saw Arsenal's performance and quality which was quite good in the last few matches, but no one thought that the match would be this difficult, but I don't take this too seriously because in the Champions League every match will be difficult, especially when it's a top team. from different leagues have different characters, as happened in this match.

You can quickly see that the Champions League is a different competition. I think if these two teams played 10 times against each other in a normal game that is not as valuable as the Champions League, Arsenal would probably win 7 out of 10 games or something like that. But as you said mentality can turn into a beast when players are considered the underdog in a match. I have mentioned in another thread that Pepe played an amazing game despite his age of 41 years. That's pure mentality and of course experience. Arsenal had a hard time getting into the box and create chances. Porto's plan was to either get the lucky punch or to make it into the penalties.

That's what I did this round and used VAR on 2 questions.. I'm also not sure if I used 2 VAR this round or if 1 VAR can be used on all the questions.

This is why I always send my answers late😁 I trusted djokovic too much this time, and the odds was @17 for him to lose😁
1 question equals 1 VAR. So in your case Slissy, you are down to just one more for the season.

Will this be the first season when someone uses up all their VAR checks? So far it wasn't very popular and we had less VAR usage in last 2 seasons combined than in this round  Grin

Ah that is good to know as that does change a few things in terms of submission strategy I guess and the season is still quite long. At some point one might literally be forced to wait and forgo the chance to win free bets due to early submission.

The Arsenal question was well phrased @Trofo and @cryptofrka. All the twists you put into that question made it a really tough one and only two guys got it right. But I didn't think that Porto would be able to put up such a fight in the Arsenal stadium. I hate to say it because I hate Pepe as a player as he prefers to destroy football games rather than play beautiful football, but the way he worked for Porto's defense yesterday was quite impressive considering he just turned 41. That was a smart game by him.

4 guys from division 1 go with an Atletico win tonight, interesting. It is not an easy call despite Inter's outstanding shape. A draw is quite risky as in that case Atletico would open up their defense and may concede a counter attack goal, but I couldn't convince myself of a clear winner after 90 minutes. Just for fun: my assumption is that Atletico takes the lead, Inter strikes back and the game ends 1-1. Let's see whether my crystal ball was correct!

@casperBGD, now it is finally our turn as well. Ludi incipant!

@Trofo, @cryptofrka, when I sent in my VAR request, a question came to my mind that I once again have no idea whether this has ever been answered before. I didn't use VAR so far, hence I wasn't looking into the topic in detail. But today I wondered whether 1 VAR point always applies to a whole round no matter how many changes, or to 1 change in an answer to 1 specific question. If I wanted to change the Djokovic answer today and another answer, would that still be -1 VAR? Or would it count as -2 VAR?

Again, apologies if I overlooked that answer somewhere, but I believe it doesn't exactly state this on the first page.

Thanks!

[...]

Napoli are now trying to apply pressure to score goals, but various efforts are still difficult to succeed.
Now, Rrahmani has just scored 1 goal.
One more goal is Napoli's target to advance to the next round. Hopefully happen.
Still 1 goal down but this makes the match exciting to watch again hehe. Bookies are having a good time adjusting the odds for this one hehe.

[...]
Arsenal is having more trouble that I anticipated. I thought they would take the lead quickly, or at least in the first half. There is still 20 minutes to go, but who would have thought that Porto would have some very promising attempts? This will probably be a close game unless Arsenal finds the trigger and finally scores. I went with Arsenal taking the lead in the first half.
Porto are expecting Arsenal to start and apply pressure early but they seem prepared for that. Impressive defensive stops so far. I think this is going to be a battle of attrition and one mistake could change the whole game.

And there it is.... Now a 1-1 on aggregate.

I was quite sure that Arsenal - Porto would not go into overtime... But Porto is playing a clever strategy. They are not too defensive, which is important because if there were parking the bus all the time, it often goes wrong at some point when the opponent is technically strong team like Arsenal. They would raise the pressure until they would break through for sure for a second time. In this game Porto is dangerous enough to have chances almost all the time and Arsenal can't throw everything at their offensive game as they are busy enough defending against the dangerous Porto attacks. There is a little advantage now for Porto because Porto doesn't care about a penalty shootout. In fact, this is an integral part of their game plan. Arsenal - in contrast - doesn't want to have to go through penalties as their biggest advantages was playing in front of their own audience, not to go into penalty shootout. An exciting game and it doesn't like more goals can be expected for now.

Barca making quick work of Napoli with 2 goals in 2 minutes and just under 20 minutes hehe. I don't see the team from Italy recovering from this but there is still plenty of time to settle down and make some adjustments. I knew there would be no upset but I didn't expect this to be honest.

There is no digging out of that whole for Napoli. I thought that Barcelona would be the dominant team as they also were in the first game against Napoli, but I likewise thought that they would be inefficient with their chances again. But now in this game it was quite the opposite. Perhaps if Napoli can close the gap a little with a goal out of nowhere, but being down 2 goals in Barcelona means it is fairly over for them.

mv1986, four different answers in our duel, but nothing tonight, we have same opinion on Barselona and Arsenal
Sabalenka to reach final or not, Inter to win/draw (Atletico win wasn't considered in our duel), City or Chelsea to take FA cup more seriously and West Ham to pass or not
looking at answers, if Sabalenka lose prior to SF, I could lose the round before weekend, hope to see it more interesting dough

good luck, and may the luckiest win

Yes I did a quick check as well and most likely none of us will get fully destroyed at least Wink But I do prefer when many more answers are different. However, I did expect that we may have several answers in common. Believe it or not, I like when the round goes until Sunday evening. Of course I admit that a quick round never hurts and it's cool to know to have the three points safe, but still the wins you get in the very last moment are the best! Smiley

Yes, as sometimes everything can go against all odds, it is indeed quite often about luck. But still a good instinct can be valuable Smiley

Good luck!

Because after I opted in, the rewards page doesn't show anything to claim. In the terms and conditions it says "Participants must click the 'OPT-IN' button on the promotional page and place a minimum bet of 25 USDT to activate the free bet rewards." Should a 25 USDT bet be placed first in the casino section in order to activate the claim on the rewards page?

@casperBGD either we are both going to have a very bad start in case of a draw or one of us is really screwed! Tongue Anyway, good luck this round!

@Trofo decided to not joke around and immediately put a big fat dent into my goal statistics. Thank you for that Smiley

So I guess everyone is now looking forward to the Champions League drawings on Friday and of course the remaining games. Hopefully we won't have too many early finals.
254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Massive withdrawal of Bitcoin on: March 10, 2024, 10:31:31 PM
Anytime the price of Bitcoin skyrockets, there would be massive selling of Bitcoin and this practice(s) have always lead to the price of Bitcoin falling back afterwards. During the approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs, it was observed that the massive selling of Bitcoin when the price got to $48,000 made the price to fall to $38,000, it was after the corrections that the price began to soar higher again till now that it has set a new ATH of about $69,210 and immediately, massive selling and withdrawal of Bitcoin was also noticed.

Wouldn't this continues practice of withdrawing and selling off whenever the price skyrockets going to slow the volatility of Bitcoin to continue skyrocketing? Since the price automatically starts experiencing a dip after every massive withdrawal.

It is a pretty normal thing to see people take profits if the opportunity arises and I believe that we should get the meaning of skyrocketing right here. What is skyrocketing for you? I have had a look and Bitcoin went from 20k USD 12 months ago to about 70k USD now. This is fundamentally different from Bitcoin back at the time going from 2 USD to 7 USD as the sheer cash volume that had to flow into the market is insane and still hard to believe. This means that over the course of 12 months about one billion USD were added in market capitalization. I don't know, but in my opinion the price has been skyrocketing quite hard.

Sometimes people lose a reasonable sense for their assessment of certain metrics. Look how old Bitcoin is, look how valuable it is and how much yearly trading volume it generates. The smaller the time window you are looking at, the less you understand about the incredible journey that Bitcoin has taken. If you want to double your money in no time, Bitcoin might not be the right place if 20k USD --> 70k USD in 12 months doesn't feel like skyrocketing to you.

At some point I think it is rather normal for some people to take profits. I haven't been following the whale alerts recently, but if a person bought at 2k USD or even 5k USD, I think there is nothing wrong about selling parts of their holdings. I would never recommend selling all of it unless certain life circumstances or priorities require you to do that. But if you can give it more time, Bitcoin seems like a good strategy for building wealth long-term.

gratulation an bullrun2024bro!

Leverkusen vs Wolfsburg

Leverkusen must continue their winning streak if they want to stay ahead of Bayern Munich in the points table. If Leverkusen loses a match, the players will lose confidence. And its adverse effects can be seen in their overall performance.

Leverkusen is playing at home against Wolfsburg. In 25 minutes, neither team can score a goal. Leverkusen's players have had 72% of ball possession. The gameplay of Wolfsburg's players seems to be their only goal in today's match by fending off Leverkusen's attacks and drawing the match goalless. I haven't seen a single attack from the Wolfsburg players yet. But if Wolfsburg keep their defense so strong, the match is likely to be a draw.
As expected, Bayern Leverkusen have taken the lead through Nathan Tella's 37th minute goal and that has just compounded the problems of Bayern Munic, their close rival. Wolfsburg is one man down following Moritz Jenz 28th minute red card and I think this might just sealed the fate of Wolfsburg tonight. However, I expecting that the combined effect of the red card and home advantage would have made Bayern Leverkusen score many goals, but it seems that is not happening as the score line still stood at one goal to nil and match has progress to the 73rd minute. If Bayern Leverkusen want to be comfortable in this match, they need to score a second goal. But the chances are high that they will maintain the lead.

The issues for Bayern were huge already and Leverkusen simply restored the old distance of 10 points. I have just had a discussion in another thread how Bayer Leverkusen might have gotten a bit nervous if they didn't win this game, but now I think this was it. 7 points would have been a different game, but 10 points with 9 games left, I think Leverkusen would go down in history if they somehow get so off track that they squandered this advantage. Now the time has finally come for them to get rid off the "Vicekusen-Curse" Tongue

That's actually a fact that many people are missing because Bayer Leverkusen makes Bayern Munich look worse than they are. As you said, last season wasn't a good season either, but things are completely different when there is not some team that is playing so brilliantly like Leverkusen. I seriously hope that Bayer Leverkusen won't mess this up again! Cheesy It's hard to imagine, but you know the so called "Bayern-Dusel", which is that somehow they are the lucky winners in the end. Last year it was Dortmund messing it up big time. There are still some tough games to be played against Dortmund and Stuttgart, but I think they are good to go if they don't lose the game against Wolfsburg this weekend.

With a 10-point cushion and only 10 games to go, a couple of tough games is sheer nonsense. But if I were a “historical” Leverkusen fan, then of course I would still be worried. The best way to calm your nerves is to hedge what you are afraid of  Cheesy If I remember correctly, Bayern’s chances of winning the title before this round were a little more than 8. Probably betting on this outcome can reassure the fan because x8 is a very good win in case his long-term wait is again unsatisfied.

It's not that I really believe Leverkusen would still give this title away, but you know what I mean Wink Not sure why you call it sheer nonsense, but Leverkusen has had a couple of games that were on the edge and they scored last minute goals or got away with it by not conceding another one under pressure. I am actually not invested and therefore no need to hedge against anything. But I am fan of this Leverkusen team this season and everyone in Germany is tired of seeing Bayern Munich win the Bundesliga, probably even the Bayern Munich fans Tongue

I think this Leverkusen - Wolfsburg game is important tonight. Because losing a game against Dortmund can happen and if Bayern can get closer to Leverkusen once again, I hope that they won't get too nervous. With Dortmund, Stuttgart and Frankfurt, it is not like they have an easy program for the last few weeks of this season. Bayern can still achieve 84 points in total and if we go from there, it is not entirely impossible that that number of points puts them into a pretty good position.

Strong turnaround for Frankfurt by the way, but it's an easy game for them due to the early red card. Hoffenheim is in deep trouble and not really fighting back anymore.

258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake loses $615k bet on Joshua-Ngannou bout on: March 10, 2024, 05:41:26 PM
That's what he deserves... Immediately when I saw his tickets from Twitter, I knew that was gonna turn out bad..

what's normally the reasons why he shows off his tickets after betting if I may ask? To create some sort of shades?.. lol, now the whole world knows he's lost the game and he has remained quiet ever since then... Isn't that enough shame for the day?
It has nothing to do with shame or beef, I don’t think Drake has any beef with Anthony Joshua. I think he just enjoys betting on the underdog. Also Drake has a partnership deal with Stake. That’s why he is always posting his gambling slips online, it’s another way of subtly promoting the casino.

https://www.casino.org/blog/drakes-latest-bets/

Woah, I don't have a merit available, but will keep you in mind for sharing this information. I haven't searched for any summaries like this, but no joke this is probably the best promotion Stake can get from a superstar like Drake with almost 150,000,000 followers on Instagram! If someone wagers "Over $1 Billion In 2 Months", I think it is pretty clear that people are more inclined to trust this casino over other casinos. If someone goes so crazy and wagers 10-figures!!! in 2 months! Cheesy, it seems that that someone has no issues with trusting the casino with ridiculous amounts of money. Those are the headlines that spread like wildfire. I would say that 7-figures would be crazy already, but 10-figures without a doubt catches peoples' attention. There is really no way around it.

This means nothing else but around $17 million wagered per day for 60 days straight from a guy with close to 150 million followers on Instagram. Good story! Wink
259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: March 10, 2024, 04:51:54 PM
Bayern really needed a game like this to get back on their feet. Normally they are not really that far off from anything like this, it feels as if we are talking about a situation that would not be all that crazy, it is something that would make sense for them, and I think it would be normal for them if we didn't see them be bad this season.

Bayern Munich punished Mainz badly in yesterday's game. I didn't expect that game to end like this honestly. I left Mainz scoring a goal after Bayern Munich 2 goals so maybe an additional a goal or two for a team or both but a festival of goals following these three goals was a surprise and for sure it will drive the moral of Bayern Munich players up!

That game was a punch in the face for Mainz. I mean playing away from home against Bayern is not really the game where teams hope to collect important points to stay in the Bundesliga, but the goal difference can come into play at the end of the season and I think one important objective for any team should be to not get slaughtered by Bayern. This game certainly destroyed Mainz goal statistics and I am sure they would remember this bad performance in Munich if they really fail to prevent relegation due to their goal difference. No team needs to get slaughtered like that even if they are far worse on paper.

I wondered whether this was the highest win of the season, but no - it was the game against Darmstadt where Bayern won 8-0 last year in October. But that game was full of chaos as Kimmich conceded that red card after 4 minutes and then Darmstadt got decimated due to 2 red cards against them in the first half. The game against Mainz was by far not as chaotic.

Now onto Leverkusen - Wolfsburg. Rest assured that the Bayern players will be watching that game! Wink

Diego Simeone will try his best for his club to draw tie with Inter Milan and probably win but it'd all in words, let him put in the actions. Simeone Inzaghi have made plans for his victories in matches and aiming to reach the final again and this time, it wouldn't be just a final but a top one. Atletico madrid messed up in the first leg against Inter Milan, currently the top clubs comes with decisive points but trembled upon the feet of the Italian side. Diego Simeone must into the weaknesses of his team because everything is falling off balance.

Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid is always dangerous.  Smiley  They couldn't show a good performance in the first leg. I assume that nobody would deny that. Simeone was okay to get even a draw to go more attacking in the second leg. But Inter still got what they wanted from the match by one goal.

Inter have a good advantage in their hands now. But there is still a really tough match waiting for them. Inzaghi rested Lautaro and had some starting eleven players on the pitch for 60 minutes in the Bologna match. I think Inter will fight really strongly in Spain as well to advance to quarter finals.  Smiley  I like them more in terms of defending and attacking now.

They are dangerous, correct, but this is definitely not the Atletico Madrid from five years ago. They have always been infamous for their amazing defense, but that's quite some time ago. It doesn't mean there would be any good reason to not take them as seriously as in the past, but still I would be shocked if they were to beat Inter Milan. On that level it is of course possible that they have a good run in their game at home and score first, but if that doesn't happen, I think Inter Milan is one level too high and too clever and strategically too strong to still give this away.

I know it could turn into one of these ugly games that Diego Simeone loves so much, but Inter Milan can be quite ugly as well if needed. They know how to play this game. But yes I can only recommend everyone to get ear plugs for this one as well as Simeone will scream the hell out of his body! Cheesy He is probably the only one who can compete with Jurgen Klopp when he is freaking out. I would love to see both of these coaches one day make their most aggressive faces and stand head to head, I think everyone knows what that means. Cheesy
