Lately I've been playing 'Heroes and Generals'. If you like WWII games with infantry, tanks and planes you might want to give this one a try. It has Americans, Germans and Soviets, sometimes in a 3-way war! It's free to play too. (Or, pay to win. Depending on how you look at it.)

And all come with their "boys" (husbands and so). It's a pity since in one of my favorite stores there is one quite pretty girl...  learn some crazy Mandarin saying then quote it to her. if she laughs then she might be game. if she says "go way roundeye, me no want boom boom" then it wasnt meant to be.... ...and if her husband starts to run to you, try to run faster!!!! :p But hei, that's a good idea!! At least "good morning", "good afternoon", "hi" and "thank you"! I learned to say all those things after I met my wife. Every Chinese person I spoke to was simply amazed just to hear me say those few phrases in Mandarin. The surprised look on their faces was almost as if they just heard an animal speak to them. They'd start talking Chinese to me and I'd have to interrupt them and say, "that's all I know". Then they'd often laugh with relief. (Knowing their language was still mostly a secret to us monkeys.) |

If you're wondering where I've been lately, I'm playing Heroes and Generals. (I plan on spending most of my time playing this game now, so I might not be around the forum as much as I used to.) It was released in July last year (beta), but I just started playing it a few days ago. I like everything about this game. The graphics and gameplay feels real. Unlike most FPS games, there's no red HUD icons above enemy players heads, which adds even more to the realism. If you like FPS games with (American, German and Soviet) World War II era tanks, planes, and land vehicles I think you'll like this one. (I know some of you are thinking, not another WWII game. lol. I don't think I'll ever tire of them.) Just be prepared to spend a lot of time developing your characters, since it takes a lot of grinding to make the EXP pts. (or you can use gold you can buy with real money) which you spend to buy gears and upgrades. (There's also a RTS aspect which I haven't checked out.) There's five different soldier types, not including generals.  Infantry   Tank Crew    Pilots   There's also Paratroopers and Recon. I've barely scratched the surface in this game, so I can't really give you any more details. You'll have to check it out yourself if it sounds interesting to you. Oh, ya! I almost forgot to mention IT'S FREE TO PLAY. (Or pay to win. lol.) |
