The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

watched it finally
still saying that peter jackons is not normal for filming it in 3 part but he wanted it.
I can understand making 3 LOTR movies, since it was written as 3 books, but The Hobbit was just one book.

Why make only one movie when you can sell three? Roll Eyes

"TV shits in your brain." - Some German dude I met once in Vancouver.

"All it takes for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing" - Edward Burke

That's one of my favorite quotes. It goes well with another favorite. (Although [to some people] they may seem to contradict one another.)

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions." - Saint Bernard of Clairvaux

I'm getting so tired of (well meaning citizen helps *optional*) benevolent government saving the day shows. This one honestly wasn't nearly as much of a slap across the face with it as some others i have tried. See: forever or psych or izombie (haven't actually seen this one just read the description, but it pretty much says as much in the description) or homeland or csi or criminal minds or castle or figuratively literally 90% of all tv shows. Almost all tv it seems is either witting or unwitting propaganda for the state and i just cant handle it any more. So I'm sort of jaded and cynical and always looking and always on hyper alert looking for this. I detected a hint of it, good guy government saving the day from evil businessman. So I'm a bit concerned but ill admit it was different enough that it needs more of a chance. Ill probably go back and watch the second episode.

Also there was a bit of another concerning theme here that i see starting to materialize. The theme of government needs to be able to operate extra judicially inorder to be effective. The reason it performs so badly as it stands now is the outmoded limitations placed on it by out of date out of touch laws. If it can just act outside of these confines than it can actually get things done and make the world a better place. We see this in like all of the super hero shows and movies and in true detectives for example. I have to watch more to see if thats a message in this show.

I know some will say its just entertainment just sit back and enjoy it and stop analyzing it. But you know how they say you are what you eat. This is even more true of the things that you feed your brain.

Well said, my friend. I too have become jaded and cynical and it pains me how easily the general population is manipulated simply because they refuse to be skeptical. I feel like people believe they will fetch a better price for their brain if it's never been used. Roll Eyes

I'd eat the peanuts out of her shit just to get my nose next to that pussy.

Uh, I don't have words, that's such a strange remark.
That's not strange at all, considering the source.  Grin

Oh come on, tell me you wouldn't give her a rim job if she asked you to. You'd be chin deep in that shit and you know it. lol

Chin deep? I'd be diggin for gold! But, I draw the line at eating peanuts out of there. Cheesy

Kid: Hey dad tell me a joke.

Dad: Pussy.

Kid: I don't get it.

Dad: Ha! Ha! I know.

Magic: The Gathering - Inside the World's Most Played Trading Card Game

I started playing this game when they came out with the "Ice Age" expansion and continued playing it for about 10 years. It was loads of fun, until they started releasing expansions that were too OP and made all the older cards seem rather weak in comparison. I stopped buying new cards at that point and eventually stopped playing altogether, as I was beginning to get bored of the same old cards. I probably could have sold my collection for hundreds if not thousands of dollars, but decided to just give them all to a friend of mine. We still play once in a blue moon, but the "magic is gone", so to speak.

*Card shown is not real.
170  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you have what it takes to be online Poker Pro? on: May 28, 2015, 02:45:22 AM
poker is a people game played with cards and NOT a card game played with people.
THIS is the (not so secret) truth to winning money in poker.

Theoretically, any two cards can win, but a great player can win with terrible cards by playing the people. Psychologists would probably make the best poker players.

If you guys haven't checked out Banshee yet, I highly recommend that one

wow good ratings on imdb. im going into this one blind. didnt even read the synopsis.

Let me know what you think of Banshee.   Another good one that I had never heard of before I watched it was "Bloodlines" on Netflix.   They have only done one season so far, but it is definitely a good one too...

Banshee is pretty cheesy in my opinion. Nothing extra ordinary, but if you like boobs and explosions check it out. Only seen the first season, though. Does it get any better?
Did someone say boobs? Tongue

Thank you for this review. I think I'll check it out now.

The site has become incredibly slow since the compromise and I'm getting a lot of "502 Bad Gateway" notifications.

I believe the English language was developed to be confusing on purpose to confuse enemies. Cheesy

Just remember "i" before "e", except after "c". (And, in many other unrelated instances.)

177  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anyone here who loves Age Of Empires (AOE 2OR AOE lll) on: May 26, 2015, 09:38:05 AM
I loved that game, wasted many hours playing it. My friend would get the male workers to do all the hunting and deforestation, while the women worked the mines. Grin

I loved AOE, especially the Kings/Conquerors part.
Those were my favorites too.

I played this long time ago but mainly in multilayer i didnt play much campaign game just multi.
Same here, I didn't play any of the campaigns. I preferred multiplayer, even if was only against computer players.

In the original game, you could upgrade all the way to future ages.  In AOE 2/3 you could only upgrade a bit.   Undecided

Sorry, the game I was thinking of was Empire Earth.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empire_Earth

(Another good game if you like AOE)
EE was awesome as well. In EE2 you could advance tech beyond the digital age, although I preferred to end the tech tree advancement at the atomic age (WWII). I loved doing bomber runs and dropping A-bombs on the enemy. Cool

This season of GoT has been rather lame so far. Sad

I agree with you...it has been moving super slow...

Reckon the next season will be more epic when Winter arrives (think it will arrive at the end of this season, like in the last 2 books).
Yeah, I can't wait. They've been saying "winter is coming" since the very beginning of the series. Roll Eyes

I haven't tried it out myself, but my friend told me if you crop your photo (and save as a new pic) then all the metadata is lost.
