I get at least 33% off almost everything in Amazon ... but I have to wait a bit before someone buys it for me.

how?

http://www.purse.io

Guess that does not work in EU ?

You can always use a service like usendhome.com though the shipping cost might be too much (often more then 50 euros). But worthwhile if you are ordering something expensive. Also, amazon.com doesn't ship many items over-the-coast so usendhome is a work-around for that kind of situation.

I observed that bitcoin is always stationary at $4200, does this means that $4200 is the new bottom now?
If yes, we need to buy this dip before going to $5000.

I can't see bitcoin going down from here, anymore, monday is coming. Maybe a slight dip. But I don't think bitcoin will pass over $5000 for at least until the China FUD calms down.

What is this COMSA thing you are talking about? And how is it related to NEM? The website is in Japanese, I can't understand it at all.

Green day!

Here a nobel price winner/"bubble expert" who says that bitcoin is the perfect example of a bubble because it has an interesting story behind it: https://qz.com/1067557/robert-shiller-wrote-the-book-on-bubbles-he-says-the-best-example-right-now-is-bitcoin/
but doesn't even seem to know what an bitcon is...

Why is China not picking up as it used too?

// Kraken is in a good buying mood today. 4050€ ~$4812

I guess the Ghost Month is now over there (depending on the time zone).

Or is that just a myth?

I'm trying to get someone to invest in NEM. Could anyone explain what's special about the new technology it laymans terms?

Not sure if this is layman's terms but one way to put it is like comparing blockchain tech to the Internet. Bitcoin is like e-mail. One of the first applications of Internet technology and pretty ground breaking. NEM is like the world wide web which took the Internet to the next level and changed the way we do almost everything.

NEM was created from the ground up AFTER the discovery of blockchain technology designed with it's real world application in mind. It fixes a lot of the technical debt that early blockchains have and adds features that no other blockchain has to date. It has also improved on the core distributed consensus mechanism solving the unsustainable energy and hardware waste required with Bitcoin's PoW system.

This is a perfect explanation. In addition, there hasn't been any real hype as with e. g. antshares/neo, which is lightyears behind NEM. So steady rise without any hysteria. I've had NEM since it was around 100 sat and I've never even thought that there would be any reason to sell it. Not at least until late 2018 (if the hysteria develops).

I'm glad I bought my coin back at a slight loss around 4300 that I had stupidly shorted. No correction in near sight. Only great news everywhere. Something feels strange. Where is all the FUD? That BCH thing has already gotten old.

segwit2x

My guess is that segwit2x won't even happen. Doesn't make sense, following the great success of BTC (segwit activated without any problems etc). Maybe if there will be some technical hiccups (I very much doubt it).

I have a VPN service but I worry that if the VPN drops the node would stay online without caring.

Firewall it (default deny all) on your outbound router and only allow packets going to the VPN provider. If the VPN drops, it will simply get disconnected, and that way you also make sure there's no DNS or other type of leakeage going on.

I will look into doing that. My router is the box provided by the ISP, that sounds bad but it's a very innovative ISP (father of the school "42" ), the thing is extremely powerful and has tons of options, I've seen one about VPNs.

Can somebody recommend me a good router that can only allow packets going to the VPN provider? Also it would be cool to have a firewall in the router. I've  been looking in the Tomato-firmare that can be installed into many cheap routers https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomato_(firmware)
250  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis-Mining Review on: August 29, 2017, 09:08:56 AM
I've been thinking of starting to cloud-mine Monero through genesis-mining.
Is there any other more profitable ways of mining Monero?
I don't currently have any equipment nor do I have any idea what is viable these days (I could also buy some hardware, Winter is Coming).
ETH-mining through genesis-mining has been working fine for me.
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [GBYTE] Byteball Speculation on: August 28, 2017, 10:43:20 PM
For now, only the transactional part (bytes) seems to be a really strong point. But competition in this field is fierce (newest contender is HCash) and there is every reason to think that the concept of no fees (IOTA, RaiBlocks) will win out if payment speed and reliability are solved. For the rest, there is Bitcoin and Monero/Dash.

I really can't see HCash as a contender. Just another very dodgy ICO without anything substantial to offer.

Another overnight push. Loving those at the moment.  Grin

Does anyone have a list of airdrop Alts that can still be claimed with my private keys?

I'm not sure how many airdrops are running out there, but these are confirmed running right now:

Stellar Lumens - LAST date 27th Aug
https://www.stellar.org/blog/bitcoin-claim-lumens-2/

Byteball - next round on 6th Sep
https://byteball.org/

Bitcore
https://bitcore.cc/

(And of course, the usual BitCH coins, if you've not already claimed them)

Also DeepONION, airdrop is today but you have to add a huge signature to be able to claim the coins. But they are worth around $100-200, weekly.

I like Byteball the most.

Wow, I wasn't excepting that the charts would rise but better like this. Can't wait for $5000.

Interesting to see that blackcoin is still around. I remember being on board long time ago, when the huge megapump was going on. Is the development still very active?
255  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dump the news? on: August 24, 2017, 06:08:40 AM
I also waited for a dump on the news. Never mind, it is nice seeing BTC rising strong but I guess there will be a minor down trend... when the excitement has worn off.

I've got a strange problem. My deeponion signature has disappeared. Maybe it has something to do of me becoming sr. member? I've updated my signature, according to the requirements but I still can't see the signature...
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: August 24, 2017, 05:57:34 AM

Who is this guy? What's the point of teasing Catapult and then saying ''Don't be mistaken, catapult is still pretty far from public deployment''.

He is one of the devs!
And he is right, they are working hard and they should take their time.
Catapult will come out when it is ready!
Bringing something out with bugs would be a disaster for NEM.
NEM has the reputation to be one of the most secure and stable blockchain in the cryptoworld.
A failure would be in comparison much more worse for NEM than for any other Cryptocoin!

I feel very relieved that the Catapult update isn't ready right yet. Meaning that I've got still much more time to buy moar XEM
258  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 24, 2017, 05:55:15 AM
So does anyone notice any difference in the transaction or confirmation speeds now when the segwit is finally activated?
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡ [ANN] ⚡ DeepOnion TOR Integrated ⚡ No ICO 🚀 FREE Airdrops 🚀 6th of 40 Rounds on: August 22, 2017, 11:03:18 AM
Dev and his friends are holding around 7 million of onions. They will "airdrop" not more than 10% of this amount to all that beggars and idiots who are supporting this project and posting dozens of scam posts on this topic just to qualify for airdrop and receive some shitcoins . Dev will sell his coins slowly and will make some money, but the problem is that nobody is buying this shitcoin and nobody will. The orderbook on nova is worth nothing and within couple of weeks it will come to 0. So dev, his friends and all their paid shills will have only one opportunity.. to sell this shitcoin to each other or to put them up their arse.

I don't understand, who doesn't like airdrops? The rquirements are insubstantial, we don't even need to post on this thread to get them. Anyways, this is just the very beginning, can't except the volume to rise very much until people start to use Deeponion. And why would anybody buy ONION at this point, because they are givin' it for free?
