Question whats the CPU usage with these drivers without the dummy plugs attached?
245  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~5000 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: July 07, 2011, 08:34:22 PM
He doesn't know how many licks it takes to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop.

its take 3 Mhash/s ... everyone knows that
246  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Catalyst 11.7 Preview Drivers - No Dummies or Bridges on: July 07, 2011, 08:29:45 PM
you do not need dummy plugs or CF bridges.

this is great news if it works well
247  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Deepbit nearly at 50%! Change Pool now! on: July 06, 2011, 03:07:20 PM
The bigger the pool, the less time a block is found so ppl see a steadier rate of income (less variance)

It's weird, some days ago polls were balanced...

I think you need to take into account the recent DDoS attacks - BTCGuild is still done for example and I know that is a popular pool
248  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Deepbit nearly at 50%! Change Pool now! on: July 06, 2011, 12:27:14 PM
Is this true? Is there anywhere we can view the current statistics? I thought DeepBit has had over 50% once before.

249  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: GPU 450 Mhash/s , HEAT problem! , Specs in thread. on: July 06, 2011, 12:17:17 PM
I agree with the post above it looks like a 650 watt power supply which probably isn't enough

And fans, you needs them
250  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question.. on two 6950 cards, two different hash rates on: July 06, 2011, 01:56:56 AM
I don't know how much PCIe bandwith a miner takes up

the slot doesn't make any difference, you'll get the same hash rate on an x1 slot so its not that

I agree you should remove the crossfire cable (you'll need a dummy plug though) ... but even with it on those speeds are off - you should be ~350+ with that card pretty easily

You sure the first miner is set to [0-0] Cayman and the second is [0-1] Cayman in the drop-down?

What power supply do you have?
251  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC Guild being DDos'd ? on: July 06, 2011, 01:49:01 AM
bb,

You could just run more than one miner simultaneously, each with its own pool. Second miner will take over all your CPU/GPU resources while the first one will be waiting for a dead pool.

^ this...

just open another miner with the same graphics card and set the  -f flag higher than the first instance

If your using GUIMiner this is pretty simple, the default is -f30 (unless you changed it) so just start your fallback miner with -f60
252  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can't run guiminer and GPU-z or CCC at the same time on: July 06, 2011, 01:44:22 AM
It's a none 69XX card OpenCL issue, hopefully it will get fixed sooner or later

There really is no way around it but if you open gpu-z first then start your miner it won't crash...

Although hitting any flash site whilst browsing will still lock it up
253  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: XFX 6950 questions on: July 02, 2011, 11:55:21 AM
Would be interesting to hear some more experienced peoples responses.

I have the exact same card XFX 6950 (unlocked shaders mod only not full bios flash) and currently just using the Catalyst Control Center with 840/1250 and +5% on the power control setting gives me ~369 MHash/s consistently (well for the last 3 weeks its been that way)

Also I think that the video is a flash type thing as it does the exact same thing to me. If I don't check the link and it send me to youtube etc... it just freezes. Although it seems that I am still mining my computer is locked and requires a hard reboot.

254  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm an undeserving early adopter, and here is my side. on: July 02, 2011, 11:24:40 AM
All I can say (again) is that Bitcoin is a marathon not a sprint.
