243  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: Ideal para Inmigrantes on: August 06, 2011, 05:39:40 PM

244  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: ¿Hay chilenos con bitcoins? on: August 06, 2011, 05:33:44 PM
Saludos.

Pero en Tradehill también puedes transar euros...
245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Signatures: Did you have received donations? on: August 06, 2011, 07:32:59 AM
Most people (even myself) have putted as signature our bitcoin address but... has anybody received donations?

Today I've read about Jonathan's card and I thought about this thing. I'm not in the US to use it or reload it but from now when I see such addresses I will look my "wallet(.dat)" and will try to do a donation (especially if in that signature there is a  good reason), like users of jonathan's card. I'm not a rich, only this seems to me a good idea.

Take a penny coffee satoshi, leave a  coffee penny satoshi.
246  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buy mini Bitcoins with PayPal on: August 06, 2011, 07:10:19 AM
BTC+Paypal is setting yourself up for failure.  Search for coincard on this forum and you'll see just how bad it is.

But if you could fill an account with your PayPal account once and with that prepaided account buying Bitcoins?

-------------

This website violates ToS of PayPal for selling bitcoins (now it's a violation) and promotes another thing that PayPal hates: Pyramids!
247  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Loosing coins on: August 06, 2011, 07:08:02 AM
If more and more coins are lost over time, sooner or later, the resolution of the coin system will drop.

Maximum of 21 million coins.
Ever larger amount of coins 'lost' somehow (forgot walletpassword, computer crash, house burnes down, holder dies etc)
0.00000001 BTC is the minimum amount per transaction.

That means you can now buy a maximum of 2.100.000.000.000.000 individual 'smallest items' (when they are all active in the system).
You could say the 'maximum resolution' of the system is therefore 2.1^15.

Loosing coins does not just refine the perspective, as it should. A side effect, is: it looses granularity.

Every bitcoin lost means a never-to-be-able-to-recover loss in the resolution of the money. The maximum resolution will decrease by 1.000.000.000 items each time someone looses a single coin. Right?

How does bitcoin counter this long term loss of resolution in the system?

All this depends of the success of Bitcoin as a project, even if 0.00000001B becomes in a too big amount, the system might be adjusted to add enough zeroes. If bitcoin already exist in 50 years, probably we will talk about mB (milibitcoins) or "satoshis" instead the currently measure.

255  Local / Español (Spanish) / Idea para latinoamericanos on: August 05, 2011, 02:29:04 AM

256  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't use online wallet services. on: August 05, 2011, 02:12:08 AM
i still think the safest place for your wallet is in your personal computer, that only you have access to.

Make sure you have a good firewall, (although I'm not a paranoid user).

259  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Should we buy bitcoin.com ? on: August 04, 2011, 07:12:15 PM
We should leave .com behind, as well as any other domain tainted by the VeriSign ToS. It is through the wording of the VeriSign ToS that U.S. Homeland Security thugs have been able to execute their capricious domain name take-downs.

I'm agree with you in half because the risk is real but I thought that  is still a good idea to buy it to not confuse the people.

In any case I don't think that this might worry the project too much.
260  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Free Bitcoins] Signup, Be Active, Bitcoins Almost on Auto on: August 04, 2011, 06:58:44 PM
The redirecting page for the short URLs is trying to install some dubious java plugins. I'm not sure what your intentions are on this but if anyone is actually using a link shortener with (potentially malicious) ads he's losing all credibility IMHO.

URL shortener installing Java shit? You're right
