My 'Google Authenticator', 'Transfer Codes' as well as the 'Much more to come..' are not presently working ...... just kidding Wink

Now that I got that bit of sarcasm off my chest, I do have a serious inquiry....

With the Transfer Codes, can you elaborate ?
Would this be for Exchange Transfers ? (MT.Gox, BTC-e etc ?) or from account-to-account ?
The possibilities of this new function kick ass (from what I've been able to think up uses for anyways).....

New site looks good, but I do miss the woodgrain.

Thanks again Pirate.

Transfer will start with account to account and scale to many other services.

Pirate,

It seems the login page is not encrypted (https). The usernames and their concomitant passwords would appear to be transmitted in the open. Is this the case or am I missing something (the SSL stuff you refer to)? Seems a bit questionable for use just yet.

uhhhhhhh

Note: Payments paid yesterday where added to your account (regardless if you are reinvested) just for record purposes while we switched over.  They'll be removed so don't go spending them. Smiley

Looks awesome but I think you over paid me 285.97519541 BTC  :/   Can you double check that?  Thanks.
244  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: First Pirate Savings and Trust on: April 10, 2012, 02:34:08 PM

The new website is up!

First Pirate Savings & Trust is now Bitcoin Savings & Trust

Since www.btclending.com will be used for a separate service, there is a new URL as well.  For now, the old URL will redirect to the new site but it won't be for long.  Check out the new site at www.btcst.com.

The new site includes a whole new backend along with a few new features including:

  • SSL Encrypted - Coming shortly.
  • Two-Step Authentication via Google Authenticator - Coming shortly.
  • Request Withdraws - Coming shortly.
  • Account Changes - Limited based on authentication.
  • Transfer Codes - Coming shortly.
  • Much more to come...

Note: Payments paid yesterday where added to your account (regardless if you are reinvested) just for record purposes while we switched over.  They'll be removed so don't go spending them. Smiley

I know it's been a while and I'd like to thank you all for being patient. There are a lot of things in the works which will be released in the coming months that integrate with Bitcoin Savings & Trust.

As always, please feel free to contact me if you have any comments, suggestions or issues with the site.

Enjoy,

pirate@40

Is the site moving? It's timing out.

Yes, in the process of moving the site over to it's new home with a face lift.

Payments will go out by 12:00 CST and hopefully the site is up by then too. Smiley
246  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: First Pirate Savings and Trust on: April 08, 2012, 01:30:49 AM
The last thing I want is tension between my lenders and fights breaking out in the thread so Ill make this point very clear.  If you decide to borrow coins from members to lend to me.  DO NOT mention anything about me or my program.  If I see another comment from one of my lenders anywhere on the forums about "squeezing people out" or "I'm an early adopter so I don't have to worry." You'll see coins in your wallet and your account closed. PERIOD!

Just to clarify, as I would rather post here than publicly call out the couple of threads in question that I have stumbled across today......

Has there been an update to the above policy ? There seems to be more than 1 new 'Lender' currently pimping the Pirate name today.

Pirate, could you please add clarification for those of us (myself included) who have contacted you, to ask permission in the past, to do something similar, but were asked NOT to ?

I know for a fact that INA was all but publicly chastised for a similar attempt a couple months back and he is one of your bigger lenders, was he not ?
(..and he never even mentioned you, but someone else inferred it...)

The big issue early on was the attack by established members being able to force out new members.  I don't condone an unfriendly environment so I made it very clear early on that it was not something I was willing to deal with.   As FPS&T has grown, it has become much easier to handle large investors managing smaller accounts than me handling them directly.  So, I've allowed established lenders to grow their own market with the following in mind.

And I need to make this very clear...

At this point FPS&T has become a true bank in almost every sense of the word.  So, like a bank would protect it's account holders from the outside, FPS&T will do the same to it's members.  The commitment between FPS&T and it's account holders is directly with one another.  No outside organization can access, freeze, suspend or speak on behalf of anyone but the account holder. I have no responsibility to anyone except the account holder and they're responsible for deposits and withdrawals made to and from their account.

I hope this clears up some of the recent inquiries and answers your questions.

Is there a problem with payouts today ?

They're coming out shortly.  Sorry for the delays.
248  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: April 06, 2012, 03:06:00 PM
Please, you can reimburse me. I have delivered 4.4 bitcoin. I think it's been too long ...  http://blockexplorer.com/tx/72c3f56d94f8c7934bfea06bcdca82ffb1659c846634baa064ef8b3ad8279cef

My account is ziomik@ziomik.net
I sent you a pm several weeks ago, but had no answer. I look, thanks.

It looks like your purchase was canceled prior to you sending the BTC.  So they're sitting on your account unused.  If you would like a refund please email support@gpumax.com.

Thanks

Just copy the file from the Tasks folder in C:\WINDOWS and you can deploy it to all your "machines".

Looks like leased work/purchases have stopped again.. Not complaining at all, very happy with my payouts when I get them, but I'm curious.. what's the issue at the moment? I thought the cut-over to the new cluster was finished, and the bugs had been worked out.. although being in IT myself, I know that you can never really tell if you have all the bugs worked out or not, just the bugs for the time being  Grin

We're currently leasing work and have been for at least a few hours.  We do have times that we take leasing offline to make updates.  As much as we try to test on our staging system, it's just not the same until it takes the full load which simply can't be simulated.

The next major update is coming soon and we've rolled in a lot of the changes and improvements, so we should be able to finally fix some of the issues that have been plaguing the system.
251  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: April 04, 2012, 02:37:28 PM
Been reading through this thread (not very well or thoroughly) but I'm starting to think perhaps a GPUMAX Support thread might come in handy, i.e. a separation between the same crap i spam on here and important stuff you guys talk about =D

I'm not sure if this is the reason I can't connect, but some of my worker information seems on the site to differ from the information I started mining with.

I've tried the original configuration I have, and it doesn't work, I've tried the configuration from the site, it doesn't work.

Should I just try to make a new worker and see if that works?

I've been using GPUMAX for a couple months now, and it's been working perfectly. Since the recent server move/upgrade I haven't been able to connect to GPUMAX with Phoenix2 or CGMiner. I did send an email to support so I'll see what comes of it...

Ensure that you are hitting the correct IP address for gpumax.com (184.173.241.234).  I doubt that would be the issue since I'm sure you can visit the site but stranger things have happened.
252  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: April 04, 2012, 02:21:57 AM
I would recommend that you start a competing service. I am certain that Pirateat40 would love to have some real actual competition. Make a better mousetrap, and the world is yours. But until then, the one with the monopoly can do as he pleases.

You speak truth indeed. Guess it's time for me to learn some web programming.

In any case, my concerns have been expressed; I'm not going to repeat my position any longer. Glad to see that there's support for competition. Pirate, I have been impressed by GPUMAX and some of your other ventures. I hope you will honestly consider my thoughts, but whether or not you heed them, best of luck with your venture. I'll be getting to work on something to end your little monopoly.  Smiley

No comment goes unheard, its just hard to hear the same thing over and over and still keep smiling.

I always win at Monopoly... but only cause I play by myself. Smiley
253  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: April 04, 2012, 12:42:35 AM
Bug zux0r on IRC?

Seriously
A guy comes along , finds a way to make you extra money while making a profit at the same time
and all anybody has are endless complaints.

I think it is important to differentiate between simple complaining and actual suggestions and feature requests. While it's easy to categorize anything less than voracious thank-yous as complaining, doing that not only fails to actually address the problem but in effect contributes to it. Whining about other people whining simply exacerbates the problem.

I do not disagree that some of the negative posts are simple whining, but I certainly do not think all of them are. Many users have legitimate problems with the service and are asking for help or making suggestions in perfectly reasonable and polite ways. Whine about the whiners if you will, but at least respect legitimate gripes such as Transisto's and jjimm64's. (And before you cry foul, I do not know either of them at all.)

Until then, relax and if you're not happy there's nobody keeping you here.

With all due respect Pirate, is that really how you want to run your company? "If you don't like it, then leave"? There's a lot of ground in between dealing with every tiny gripe and utterly dismissing serious, polite, and legitimate questions. Users of any company have problems every day. I'm not going to just quit going to a grocery store because they gave me one bad carton of milk. I go there, talk to the manager, give them a chance to explain themselves. If they give reasonable reasons for why my carton of milk was bad, if they explain themselves civilly and don't simply dismiss my claims, I give them another chance. If they just dismiss my queries, I will leave, no question about it, and find another grocery store. That you haven't experienced yet, because there is no "other GPUMAX". But it will come, and when it does, I encourage you to at least consider my words. These people are giving you a chance here. If you want to throw that away, that's your choice.

Miners are not our customers but instead our workers. Those that i have a problem with know why and ultimately I'm tired of dealing with anyone that can do nothing but complain but contiunes to use the service, which is the reason for my comment.

Like i have stated countless times before, we are working on changes to improve the system and trying to keep everyone happy but there is always going to be complainers. GPUMAX is something much bigger that it appears and until that information is public all i can say is wait for it.

Running a large operation in a tech savvy online community is like trying to write a paper with a bunch of grammer professors looking over you.
254  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: April 03, 2012, 07:17:28 PM
[GPUMAX has created a miner vs miner market and I think many of you are use to a pool vs pool market.

Right now, we are competing, but not so much on price, as on hours spent behind our screens adjusting prices.

Quote
So, it's different and working as it should

....

The only reason this happened was because everyone wants shares all the time.  This is the same thing that happened when we first launched and took time to balance out.  It was designed so that WE don't set the prices, the market does.  Gas stations work the same way.  If we post what the current average rate is, those that manage it correctly lose the edge of competing for shares.
255  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: April 03, 2012, 05:55:27 PM

the question was not answered.

How can you tell if a purchase is running without lowering the price or have an api key?

Right now, there is no way.  I realize that miners wanna make MORE money but if you're not getting work and we're running purchases, it's not like you're losing anything you're just not making as much as you could be.

GPUMAX has created a miner vs miner market and I think many of you are use to a pool vs pool market.  So, it's different and working as it should.  With that said, we have a lot of things coming soon that will drastically change pricing and the market.

Until then, relax and if you're not happy there's nobody keeping you here.
256  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: April 03, 2012, 05:39:05 PM
this is exactly why the price keeps dropping,  when purchases are not running, miners are lowering the price to get work that is NOT there.

everyone,  Please make sure there is a purchase running before testing lower prices!

How?

I discribed how i do it in a previous post...

but for those without an api key, this is a valid question.... Pirate?

Yea, if you don't have an API key and want one, you can request one by sending and email to support@gpumax.com.

257  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: First Pirate Savings and Trust on: April 03, 2012, 05:31:38 PM
Is it just me, or did everyone else lose the their deposit/payment/withdrawal information previous to April?  I'm hoping it is due to the transition to the new payment scheme and new website pirate mentioned earlier.

Yea, all part of the migration.  No worries.
258  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: April 03, 2012, 02:46:29 PM
gettin public work @ .000045 again
I didnt for a while last night, but started this morning.
Maybe there just isnt public work avail sometimes guys =P

Like I have said many times in the past but as I know most people don't read back 5 posts let alone pages I will say it again. We don't run purchases unless we're awake and can react to problems if something goes wrong.  WHY?  If the system goes down during a purchase not only could we/miners/buyers lose money but we could risk shutting down all the miners that depend on us to be up and running 24/7.  So until the fail-over system is running to prevent a bad purchase or pool to cause a problem we don't run them when we're sleeping.

Now back to your regularly scheduled chirping. Smiley

Simply lowering your asking price doesn't seem to work on it's own, so I assume there's more to it than that.  I've set mine pretty low, just to test things, and I'm not getting any bites...

You're not getting leased shares or changing the purchase price?

Not getting any leased shares Wink

Then either you are missing a 0 in your PPS price or just asking way to much.  Sad
