241  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: [Primedice.com] Make a bet and receive double as a bonus! on: February 21, 2016, 07:00:46 PM
How it works

Whatever your bet profit is, we simply give you that as a bonus! Think of it as an almost risk free bet...

A maximum of 0.01BTC per user. One claim per person.

Bet should be at least 5k satoshis or 0.00005BTC.

Only bets from 9,000,000,000 will count toward this promotion.

Example. if you roll a 0.001 BTC on 10x multiplier and make a 0.009 BTC profit, we will send you another 0.009 BTC when you post your Bet ID here!

You may only make ONE entry per person.

Fair Play Restrictions

To be eligible you must either have:

Over 0.25 BTC wagered on your Primedice account
50 Bitcointalk activity

AND/OR

Over 10000 bets on your Primedice account
100 Bitcointalk activity

---

Prizes for the first 150! Hurry! All users will be credited 7 days from when this was posted.

I think this is a great idea for a giveaway because it encourages play!  Clever one PD team.

I have two questions.  First, I read upthread that the bet has to win, is this correct, so it is not a risk free bet, it is like a bonus bet?

Second, for the eligibility do you have to have BOTH .25 wagered and 50 activity or is it enough to have only ONE of those two things.  I ask because lots of newbie accounts are claiming or "reserving" a spot and they wont make it if both of those need to be satisfied!  (and they certainly wont make 100 activity)

Finally, I'll RESERVE this spot in case I make it!  Smiley

Thanks for a great site and giveaway!
242  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Burger King Accepts Bitcoin on: February 21, 2016, 05:44:12 PM
Even if it is just a franchise this is outstanding visibility for bitcoin.  I'm sure lots of people who visit Burger King have never heard much about bitcoin and so to see it being accepted in a mainstream outlet is a good thing!
243  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Up Like Trump on: February 21, 2016, 04:40:29 PM
I think Trump has surpassed all expectations.  It was fun going and looking at some of the early posts here.  A lot of people were surprised but with two wins in Trump is easy favorite to win nomination.

Have to agree though, don't see how Trump beats Clinton or Sanders, though it will at least be a fun campaign to watch.
244  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC at $435. Is it sustainable? on: February 21, 2016, 04:36:07 PM
Once the news shifts from the block size and potential forking, assuming that gets locked down, and shifts to the block reward reduction coming this summer I think not only will this level be sustained but we may even move higher.
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : now with added CLAMs : Play or Invest on: February 07, 2016, 09:07:34 PM
I always thought x100 offsite was a pretty extreme amount of leverage and remember being surprised at the time that you initially went with that.  I think it makes sense to reign it in, especially since people claim to have offsite many more times clams than can possibly exist.  I appreciate you taking time to explain your thinking.  Thank you.

I always like rooting for players so never utilized offsite so that any wagering gains/losses were dwarfed by staking.  One thing this change does do is increase my de facto exposure to players.  It's cool, I'm not upset, but I wonder if this will give further impetus to staking pools.

My big unanswered question is how does this effect clam?  While that shouldn't be your focus, it is an interesting question.  Will people buy more clam in an effort to increase their exposure that is now lost, or does it now make owning clam less attractive since you can't get x100 leverage on it at JD?

Thanks for a great site!
246  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: [Primedice.com] Just making it rain for no reason - Up to 0.02 per person on: February 06, 2016, 11:25:35 PM
Received!  Thanks again for the really fun and low stress giveaway.  Stuff like this really cements primedice as one of the premier dice sites.
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : now with added CLAMs : Play or Invest on: February 04, 2016, 11:24:06 PM
could you add a shapeshift widget to just-dice? would make deposit easier

I just did.

It's in the same place as you see your deposit address.

Either click the 'deposit' button, or type /dep or /deposit in chat to show it.

You may need to refresh the page before you see the ShapeShift button by the way.

Kudos on the addition dooglus.  It showed up with no issues for me.  I still hope you'll think about an exchange.

Regarding the two threads in this topic relating to JD, would it make sense to close one of them or relabel the one that is geared towards for "investors"?

Thanks and good luck!

Also make sure to stay active and friendly in chat!

The Moderators (including myself) have been raining out 0.30-0.50 BTC EVERY DAY in chat to users through random tips and sometimes trivia!

People providing positivity and discussion to the chat will be picked first, so spam doesn't help you Smiley

Enjoy the rain and good luck on your rolls!

I was wondering what was going on.  This is really a nice thing to do and makes chat a lot more happening.  I like the efforts, especially by Zoltan, to not rain on spammers and the effort made to prevent people from gaming the system.

Thanks and good luck, great mods are one of the things that make PD such a great site.
249  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your predictions for 2016 on: February 04, 2016, 11:10:27 PM
i think that in 2016 we will reach a new all time high because of the bitcoin halving

This was the first thing I thought of as well.  Maybe not an all time high, but at least a nice move up from the ~300 - 400 range we saw in 2015.

Good Luck everyone!

251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: November 21, 2015, 11:25:32 PM

I wasn't thinking too much about hiding the true number of coins. If I did, I would have realized to not dig them in descending block order. The reason I was digging so slowly was because that was the speed I was selling them at on Poloniex. To not risk losing the coins, I did not have a clamcoin wallet set up and I did not want to send more coins than necessary to Poloniex. So there was no need to dig them up faster. The only reason I'm digging them up faster now is to try to remove some uncertainty.

Hi curious!

First and most importantly congratulations on your clam windfall.  I'm jealous, no lie.  I'm impressed you kept all your faucet milking addies funded long enough to catch the clams!

I do have a question, if you didn't have a clamcoin wallet how did you dig your clams?  I had figured you already had your gazillion coins in your wallet already.

Unlike others I think you've played it pretty well.  I think many who were confronted with such a windfall would have just driven price down with massive selling, especially once dooglus figured out what was going on.

Also, I'm surprised no one has invited you to Dooglus's Just Dice.  If you are ever lonely or bored show up there with 100 clams and "rain" them out to the gamblers in chat.  They will go apeshit and claim you are the greatest.  Too bad Klye's gone, you could be immortalized like so many other high rollers there by his "ART".  (Klye's art is NSFW.)

Congratulations again!

@Dooglus:
.....
This is unacceptable. If you are planning a snapshot at block 730000, the fairest thing would be to stop trading
of CLAMS at all exchanges from that point on. Otherwise it would be required to take the old CLAMS out of circulation in case users decide to switch.

Up until you took that snapshot dooglus this has all just been a discussion.  However, the act of taking that snapshot was an action and Evil does a great job laying out the problem.  You've now created pools of potential (and potential is the key word, another coin may not be created, even if one is you may not use that snapshot) haves and have nots.  I agree that was how clam did it, but given that all this has flowed from how clams were initially distributed, and there are other problems, e.g. getting my coins off exchanges, maybe that is not the best path to replicate.

I still think the best path is weathering the storm of the dig whale and working to make clam stronger and more accepted, JD is a great foundation, but it can't continue to be the only real reason to own clam.

However, if that is not possible because "no one will ever buy clam with the dig whale out there slowly selling for months to come", I don't have any real problem with another coin.  I think it's a fine idea.  New coins are created every day and it might be nice for one to have a built in user base and have been carefully considered.  However, as many others have noted, you may want to consider a "swap" or a "burn" or an IPO as the initial distribution method.

I think taking a surprise snapshot in the middle of the discussion is why things have taken a bit of a nasty turn both here and in JD chat.  Obviously, I think thoughtful consideration is a good thing and appreciate you trying to foster that with your posts and recaps which I have found excellent.

As with most internet chats, I think you should ignore the people on JD chat who don't want you to share your thinking with the community.  You are one of the sanest, most trusted and intelligent people out there.  Thanks.
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: November 12, 2015, 09:34:33 PM
Since I don't think the rules should be changed at this point I guess I'm also opposed to having a vote on changing the parameters for the coin.

Also, doesn't this help the dig whale?  Didn't he dig his coins as soon as he imported his btc/ltc/doge wallets into the clam client?

Also, curtailing digging would seem to work strongly against clam adoption.  If the coin is ever going to be more than a JD token, and I like JD a lot, it seems that the ability for people to get their free clams should be preserved.

Maybe that is a solution, dooglus forks clam and the ownership is one doogcoin per clam that is visible to the network.  Clam can go on to maybe become successful via future adoption, and everyone's doogcoins increase in value as people flock to invest and play on JD.

I'm sure that's nuts, but it doesn't require a vote nor changing the rules for the coin.

Regardless, thanks and good luck.

So is the leading theory still that it is someone who lost ddos'ing the site?  Stunna came into chat and said he moved to a bigger server.  I guess the bad guys went bigger too.
255  Economy / Gambling / Re: Diggit.io | Over Dice? | Brand new game! | 800+ BTC Invested! | 1% Edge on: September 24, 2015, 12:43:35 AM
They have alot of bitcoin, crypto and oldmate investment is more than 600 btc and the rest is the other investor so I dont think they will steal from the other investor

Indeed, the site bankroll is now down to only 307 btc, in which 256 btc (83% of the whole BR) are from Crypto and oldmate.

I actually saw oldmate in chat briefly yesterday.  He posted two cryptic messages.  I thought it was someone trolling at first but the account had the black investor trophy so it was him, or at least someone on his account.

Maybe there is hope for this site after all.

Major props to Roc and professor for the welcome!

Like the look of the site, would like to be able to put in win chance % though backwards engineering it from the multiple has it's own charms.

As others have pointed out, this information is easily accessible.  Still, I guess it is as legitimate a poll as any.

Obvious likes
• clean interface
• you can chat and play at the same time, i.e. don't have to go to a different tab.
• Some mods are really great and keep things interesting
• Your efforts with contests like this to promote the site
• Levels to reward players

Suggestions
• Can you get rid of the box around chat comments?  It takes up a lot of space, especially when chat is moving fast.
• The max bet limit confuses some people.

I also like that this contest looks at the merit of posts rather than quickest to post given the huge number of alts and account farming that goes on here.  Even if you disqualify me because of activity, thanks for the opportunity to comment.

Thanks!

Here's scabby's chart - he got up 6000 from a deposit of 600:

Only one of them paid a camgirl to post with a sign advertising their win however Smiley

Thanks for that scabby chart!  I was on the site during his run and it was really impressive until it blew up.

Thanks also for posting the picture of the cam girl.  In chat, everyone was accusing her of not knowing how to spell, I think scabby even changed his name to scabby-winnere but looking closely now I see the misspelling with the extra e is really an @ and the chat was being a bit unfair to the cam girl. Wink

thanks for the giveaway and a nice looking site!

EDIT:  Site seems very slow and very ambitious.  The built in faucet is nice to try a hand, but I waited quite awhile for my cards to appear after clicking bet.
