241  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: September 25, 2014, 12:32:04 AM
Boy I really threw a monkey wrench into this party heh ?

Every time I change pools I have that effect, I'm like a "cooler" at the casinos.
The guy they have on hand to screw things up when a customer starts winning too much.
I'm running on such a slim margin now that I'm chasing the last BTC...
But sadly it is not coming... soon the power to BTC ratio will win and we all loose.
Such is life, easy come easy go !
Bob

I'll never quit mining.   There's always profit in it.

However this is pathetic.   So far I don't even think we have had single block all day.   Tongue.    Its either going over 7ph/s or w.e and we go mad slow.     Or somebody is bringing us terrible luck.  Or you really dumb pool hoppers.  Hopping won't help you make money faster or more efficient mining.

This is lame though Tongue oh well it'll pick back up again, it always does.    But i doubt its not going to get any  better before the diff rise in about 1/2  day to 1 day.

We have had 3 payouts so far today. I, not being extremely versed in many aspects, assume that means we have had 3 so far today?
I can google it I suppose, but what is the benefit if you specifically find a block. I have 1 found somewhere when I first joined. Just wondering if there is a bonus or just a stat for you to follow? Also what does it mean TX Fees + VarDiff? I am guessing VarDiff, is variable Difficulty based on your hash rate? Just a shot in the very dark Smiley...Dont flame me please just trying to learn as I go. Thanks in advance for the serious replies.
TX fees are = to transaction fees extra btc attached to block paid to the pool by the network .... var-diff is as stated the variable difficulty based on hash rate so a fast miner isnt asking for work to often and a slower miner doesn't have huge amounts of time between shares..... you having three payouts is relative based on what your payout threshold is and hash-rate etc you received payouts today as yesterdays blocks reached 100 confirmations that 14 hr block was all we had solved up until about 30 min ago for the day so it will reflect in tomorrows payouts etc.

"3 th/s of my equipment hadn't popped a breaker" I'm sorry for you Wasikidding Sad
What miner(s) you got?

You will recover, we are at Slush lol
it was 3 s3's and a cointerra the latter being the culprit im sure at least I got some as 2 s3's on a different breaker were fine

You have to get them cheap and fast ( and of course not broken ).  If you buy them this week for 850, they will be 150 less in 10-15 days.   Smarter Farmers are blowing them out and putting the money toward more effecient miners. Timing is always fun in the BTC world. I only have 2 SP30s.   They are nice, but I can only run two on one 208/30 leg.  Dropping more whips to a rack still costs me money.

My DC only charges me for power. No cost to bandwitch, cooling, or space.  The miners just has to conform to cold side and hotside  ( pull and exhaust ).  I'm in Utah and there are about 3k IVs in the the same DC I'm in.   I'm focusing on S3+ and Spoonies atm.   Even though I swore I'd never do pre purchase again ( Thanks BFL ).

You will be able to get IVs close to 500 next month I'd bet.  It's your money, and I feel confident you understand the math and risk.  Tough call, my brother.   I have 2.5th/s miners I bought last month that are already 1200 less to buy new.

yeah I know it's a tough call thanks for the input I went ahead and went for it im running it at powerstep 5 getting 1.2 but estimated rewards from blocks has gone up considerably i should be able to recoup costs 60 days or less get back over 1.15 btc in 20 days on a 6 block a day avg based on current reward estimate improvement I do like my S3's however because i was waiting on a payout and missed s3+ batch8 i dont wanna wait 2 weeks or more for batch 9 we got lucky with sub 10% increase try to take advantage of next 13-26 days
251  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: September 14, 2014, 05:18:23 AM
So a quick question the mining calculators make it tough to decide is it possible to still make a profit if I add a cointerra iv there is one available for 950$ I'm gonna try and get it for 850$ or btc equivalent anyone that has one does it hash consistent around 1.6 th/s also what is the stock power draw? Huh

I have 18 IVs in my farm. I'm pretty sure the power draw is 2100.  Buying a used one now.... I wouldn't pay more than 500.00 and only if it's a confirmed Data Center pull.  You need time to make your ROI before the next bump and 1.6TH isn't as much as it was 6 months ago...

Cointerra is selling them for 999.00 for buys of 100+ (used confirmed DC pulls ).  It was 1500.00 3 weeks ago.  I think you can see the trend.  In a few months you won't be able to give them away just like old KnC , BFL, Avalon, etc.

Lip
so adding the 1.6ths for 850$ is still not a good deal? it is a dc pull and verified temps and hash i pay like .07 pkwh with 10% diff jumps looks like a sub 90 day roi which is the same as buying 3 s3+ and or 2 tubes etc? I mean Roi is tight across the board right now and im not seeing great improvements sp20 will be more power efficent but costs way to much for the hashrate who knows when s4 etc will come out diff will be 40+ I'm just trying to find an economical way to stay valid until next phase ie: 20nm 1th/s per 500w miners come out for 1th/s per .5btc lol Roll Eyes

8 on the 12th, and 6 so far today,
end of the day at Slush's it is at 02h00 AM (Paris Time).

hashrate has fallen back to 88 from high of 97 should see a slight uptick in estimated rewards... I personally don't care much about the hashrate fluctuation I just want the luck #'s up up up ^
254  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: September 13, 2014, 08:45:25 PM
I to agree.  You get a smaller payout per block,  but a larger payout per day because of solving blocks at a higher pace.     The only down fall is difficulty increase,  a little scare went from 16-18(when i actually started)  to 29(now).   It may make the btc price go up,  but also making the moneys harder.   Hopefully causing people to sell their miners,  (or turn more online)

Either way,   Im ready,  its all a win win in the end,  just takes time getting there.

However it would be nice if the Hashrate calculator was correct.   I got 600GH/s running and confirmed,   slushs says its only 450GH/s, im not really complaining for the fact of I know the speed and payout is all there its just calculations or something is off.

OH well,  Give it time and we will be back up and running perfectly like always.     Just give it time.

And in the mean time...mine mine mineaway,  mining mining mining, im mining cause its fun... and a pretty awesome hobby

I look at the statistics,  and all I see is like 10 blocks for Sept 12-13   this is insane,   payouts might be lower,  but shit were up like 5 more blocks than before.   Cheesy Cheesy   increasing our payout.

Slush I dont know wether to question you,  or simply love you,  but I think ill love you because your pool has never let me down before,  and id like to say its never let anyone else down either.

Thank you
I agree with a lot of that statement at least the pool is very consistent I've had issues elsewhere missing payments missing hash-rate etc when the issue occurred the other day they reprocessed and recalculated the three blocks affected quite quickly and resolved any front end misinformation as well as even paying out on third affected block some value with no recorded shares as seen in another post screenshot and for me as well as I had moved to a PPS pool just until I was informed from support that the issue was resolved
255  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: September 13, 2014, 08:36:52 PM
We are up to 8 blocks in 24 hours so my payout is now better for the day, just not for each block.
I feel the rain coming 5-6 sub 60min blocks in a row c'mon baby daddies knee's are aching Grin
256  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [9000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: September 13, 2014, 07:17:58 PM

9% diff change incoming in next hour hope the rain comes in the next 2 weeks Kiss
lol was just looking at coinbase had it open in another browser tab and when i hit buy sell updated showing a 370.00 btc price i tried to buy 1k and it asked me to log in btc price on login was back to 480.00 ticker shows a low of 479.00 so coinbase played a mean joke on me  Cry thought i was gonna get 3 btc for 1k lol

What happened to this pool!!! My rewards have tanked and it is taking the same amount of time or even longer to find a block. If this keeps up it will be time to move on. A pity considering this was a great place to mine. Nothing good lasts for ever!!!
Payouts are becoming fewer and further between  Cry
259  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [5000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: September 12, 2014, 10:00:33 PM
^ Twice as much ghs has cut my profits in half. Notice it really hasn't affected our block count much. If we were nailing down 18 or so blocks a day then yes more ghs would be better. Mabey a pplns pool that worked in shifts I would be sitting a little better with this issue.
would love if just before this diff jump ...prob tomorrow we could have some nice rain 15 blocks 24 hrs yes PLZ Roll Eyes
260  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [5000 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: September 11, 2014, 11:46:55 PM
I might move one werent working with slush to other pool.

yeah i jumped to my failover pps pool only because shares are being accepted just not counted until resolved and so close to diff change need to bring in something Cry
