I'm sorry if my OP was misunderstood. I don't mean that libertarianists are close minded. It is of course perfectly possible to believe in an absolute moral, while still being open as to what exactly that absolute moral is. What I want to know is if you think that there is a true moral "out there" for us to find, or if it doesn't.

There is a cryptographic way to prevent this scam. When you go to potentiallyshadylottery.com they generate a random number between 1-1000 which determines if you win or lose. They md5 this number. Also to prevent rainbowtables they add random garble at the end. Now, you decide if you want to just see the random number, or if you want to play. If you play, the random number is revealed and you can verify that it wasn't by checking the hash. To verify that the distribution is fair, you "peek" at a lot of random numers and check their hashes. If it checks out, you know the distribution is ok. Since the operator can't know whether youll peek or play, there is no way for him to different play vs peek distributions.

Someone should make an open source trading bot. Maybe I should do this.
After we have thousands of these running the charts on bitcoincharts.com will look just like the Wall Street charts! Goings up and down every few seconds! >implying that the volatility on wall street is higher than on mtgox

The problem is, a rule that you can't do things that harm other people would eliminate almost everything we could ever do. exactly. You can't hold people responsible for that kind of indirect physical harm. Otherwise, nobody could ever do anything. Think about how many professional buggy drivers, saddle and whip manufacturers, horseshoe makers, and the like were harmed physically by the introduction of the automobile. Should we have banned it? You can recognize it as something undesirable, while still sometimes allowing it, and sometimes not, depending on the magnitude of the good and bad effects

But I DO mind! I think it is bad that this is so. But the good that she receives is greater than the harm that you receive (IMO).

Statist from sweden.
I don't think liberty is top priority. Liberty can be sacrificed for the ability for lots of people to lead good lives. That said, it is essential that the entities with power are never allowed to grow to powerful. Not because it threatens liberty, but because it threatens the good life

"You have the right to the ability to earn a living wage (I cannot force you to work for less) but not the right TO a living wage (you cannot force me to pay you more)"
It doesn't change the fact that undercutting min wage would damage me physically

I get the impression that libertarianists think that there is one and only one correct viewpoint. Am I right in this observation?
Personally I'm morally relativist but not libertarianist

I'm just making the argument that it is not always right, by claiming that the libertarianist argument that if two people want to make a deal without externalities then the rest of the world should GTFO, is not applicable, since there are externalities. In this case, externalities are irrelevant. You only have the right not to be negatively affected when it's damaging you or your property physically. You don't have the right to a liveable wage. not having a liveable wage would damage me physically

Definitely not. Its frigging amazing how we havent blown ourselves to pieces yet. Letting more people have nukes has a a high chance of spelling disaster. Too many people who couldnt give a shit about M.A.D. around

+1 for locking instead of deleting

I also think that it is fully possible for there to be hired trolls on this forum.
This is an ideological threat to many of the people in power, not so much economic in the present time.
There are Internet Reputation Management Firms that are hired to influence opinion a certain way on the web.
No joke.

I think I have a might better suggestion than those I've read in this thread.
My solution is to hide it. Like not really hide it, but in such a way that if you are looking for the "Halp, my wallet just exploted?!!", you dont notice it. In order words: keep it at the bottom-mid-bottom. Use colors that dont stand out. Make the design of the politics forum such an eyesore that people wont stay there for longer than they must. Hide everything in a subforum of a subforum of a subforum. To summarize: Make it inconvenient, and the masses will stay away.

Wow, this is a really great app! Thanks alot for making it! Here in Sweden time is growing really short for this: a rival application not using bitcoin just came online. If it becomes popular than the moment may be lost. Are there mobile pay apps in other countries too?

Nothing personal, but I would advise against adding javascript from an unknown site

Right and as a business owner I would like to outlaw competition so I can charge whatever I want.
I'm not making the argument that underbidding is always wrong. I'm just making the argument that it is not always right, by claiming that the libertarianist argument that if two people want to make a deal without externalities then the rest of the world should GTFO, is not applicable, since there are externalities. Personally, I think that the interests of the negotiating parties should be weighted carefully against the interests of the third parties, and that the current trade offs (min wage, but monopoly illegal) are well thought out.

All Mt. Gox redeem codes are backed by coins or actual deposited money.
So they're not created out of thin air.
For now Personally, I'd be more concerned about Mt Gox rigging the market than FRB. If you wanted to be corrupt wouldn't that be much easier? Just saying.
IANAL, but market rigging should be illegal while FRB should not?

bitcoin2cash:
You are ignoring the externalities. I don't want to hear you whipping your wife all night long. I want to sleep. Likewise, I don't want people doing my job for less since it puts me out of business. You may say tough shit, but the harm to me is very real.
On the economic side, remember that cartels make for higher prices than a free market. Why? The price of maximum profitability is higher than the equilibrium price. Likewise: the total amount of wages paid out is probably higher with min wage than without.
What ought to be done is to encourage people to become apprentices / study so that they become so attractive that they are worth more than min wage.
