241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Which exchange will be clever enough to find a way to host Pennies? on: August 12, 2013, 04:49:46 PM
Subject says it all!
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] MemoryCoin | Subsidy Reduced by 5% Each Week on: August 12, 2013, 04:35:56 PM
Been mining two i7 HP laptops for 24 hours with ZERO ISSUES = 14 hash/sec = 4 blocks mined.

If the 14 hash/sec is for the 2 machines combined then it's normal to have no issues (7 hash per machine).
I have one 2-core celeron 2.6Ghz mining at 4.5 hash/sec and it hardly ever crashes or hangs.
On the other hand, my 6-core i7 extreme at 4.5Ghz does 26 hash/sec but hangs or crashes every few blocks Sad (no, it's not the overclocking)

I have found that any of my > 4 core machines that if I limit the hash on them to half of the physical cores (I have some 8 core Xeons E5's that I run just on 4 cores) I run stable 24x7, it's when I go over half of their cores that they start to hang on blocks.  Just an FYI.

So what's the eta of getting pennies on coins-e or cryptsy?

Without any necessary network transaction fees to (load) cover withdrawals and with the min. exchange fee needing to be 1 CENT I guess it makes for an interesting addition for the exchange... or not !?

This is a really interesting and underrated alt. coin though. Its value should actually exceed its perceived worth. Great centiment shakezula!

This should be easy to get around in that the exchanges could just implement a minimum transaction size to match their % fee.

I am using the piggybank client on some E5-2680v2 Intel samples (10 Core).

Still steadily solo mining these successfully without client issues.  Would like to see these on an exchange soon.

Does anyone have access to a table with N factor change dates?
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [CENT] Pennies launched on: August 07, 2013, 06:30:57 PM
It's getting a nice and clean start. Everything worked the first time, steady growth of blockcount, diff, network hashrate and it got sources and a block explorer from the beginning. Can't say the same for freecoin, memorycoin, j-coin.

Agreed.  This coin just works, and the creator did an excellent job with the client.  I'd like to see this on exchanges soon.

Questions for people with experience in YAC minning, I have i7, 1090t and 2*7950

1) is it worth to GPU mine it?

2)Can I CPU + GPU mine at the same time at the same PC?

3)Where can I find the YAC Miner?

4)How do I setup the YAC miner?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=269145.msg2880148#msg2880148

gpu miner for CENT Pennies based on ybcminer....

example start gpu miner
Code:
CENTgpu.exe --scrypt -w 256 --shaders 1024 -s 1 --lookup-gap 2 -I 16 -d 0 -o http://127.0.0.1:8555 -u 123 -p 1234567890

example pennies.conf
Code:
addnode=andarazoroflove.org
server=1
rpcuser=123
rpcport=8555
rpcpassword=1234567890
rpcallowip=*

Get an error, "The program can't start because libjansson-4.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling he program to fix this problem."
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [CENT] Pennies launched on: August 07, 2013, 05:42:01 AM
are people managing to gpu mine this ?

EDIT: never mind i have done it

Care to share your method of GPU mining?

So far, I've invested the main portion of my time in CPU mining since it gives my processor something to keep it busy on while the GPUs are doing all the heavy work...of course I wouldn't complain at all if difficulty dropped back down to .003 like it was when I started (lots of fun to see coins created w/ only tiny effort). Soon though, no Pennies at all will be coming in via my i5.

I tried cgminer out earlier today and produced a ton of garbage...really fast. I admit that no worthy effort on my part has been invested into any kind of serious attempt at GPU mining.

I used the Yac GPU miner and was able to mine, but my 7950 is the same speed as my Core-i7 4Ghz Sandy Bridge, so not sure how worth GPU is on it.

10% orphans Sad

I think for as distributed as the coin seems to be, and as fast as coins are made, this is to be expected until diff is higher.
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [CENT] Pennies launched on: August 07, 2013, 05:30:25 AM
Anybody get it running in linux command line?

Yes, compiled on Redhat of all things Smiley  Had to get the latest openssl, but that's about it.

Difficulty is still rising as is network speed, seems quite a few are having success at getting client working.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [CENT] Pennies launched on: August 06, 2013, 11:18:59 PM
Kinda hard to pool mine when you can't divide them and there's only 1 cent per block  Wink The Qt won't let you put a decimal in and even if you try to send a .xx from the command line, it will round them up to the next even penny.

Good point!  I will attempt pointing all my CPUs using the previously mentioned CPUminer at the QT client in server mode and see how well that goes.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [CENT] Pennies launched on: August 06, 2013, 11:09:44 PM
Since I made the original post, network speed has quadrupled, and diff doubled.  Interestingly, I'm still getting a nice steady stream of coins.  Would be nice if someone tossed up a pool.
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [CENT] Pennies launched on: August 06, 2013, 07:49:57 PM
What is the block count right now?

Block Count:
24153
Difficulty:
0.01615184
Connections:
77
Network H/s:
5821395

Woah. So probably solo mining won't go well?

I am actually making quite a few solo mining.

Shake, you should have posted it here imo, it's a great concept and your QT client is very well done.  I don't blame you though, this forum can get spicey.
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [CENT] Pennies launched on: August 06, 2013, 07:20:58 PM
I'm not so sure, i found out about it on cryptsy, and many there were mining it from launch.  Either way, I'm getting a lot of coins in a short period, so I'll just keep it rolling for now.

Found this http://andarazoroflove.org/cryptocurrency/pennies/ and was able to use windows binary and easily compile linux.  Very smooth coin, not sure why creator did not post here?  Is anyone else mining this?

Here is a pool for these:

And here are links to the CPU and GPU miners:
