Hello. I'm using Electrum 1.6.2 linux client in full gui mode. Today I successfully sent funds to an address. Later I sent .02 btc to the same address. The encryption password entry came up & I entered it, but I never got the "successful transaction" message.
I checked the receiving address on blockchain.info and there was no record of the transaction. So I sent another .02 btc, entered my password, and the same thing happened.
Then I noticed that my balance in electrum was missing the above funds. There is no record of the 2 transactions on electrum's history tab. How should I proceed in getting this sorted out? Thanks a bunch.

The fee to withdraw bitcoin is 0.01 BTC. That is very high! I would be cautious of this exchange, such high fee acts like a discouragement to withdraw bitcoin.
Maybe they're forcing users to keep BTC on their exchange and then one day they will get "hacked"...
That's less than 50 cents....not exactly extortionate.

I tried doing the snail mail verification but I never received any mail. I don't remember verifying the deposit either because I couldn't figure out wtf I was doing. But I've had no significant problems sending Mastercard debit card payment to btc-e through liqpay from the day I signed up with liqpay. If it helps, you don't have to top up your liqpay, you can just route it through them, straight to btc-e's "purse". My bank called and verified the payment the first time, which delayed the first payment a little.
PM support and ask for their liqpay "purse" number, then in Liqpay choose "send money to phone number" and enter btc-e's purse number & your card details. Either add your btc-e username in the liqpay message, or send support a message letting them know which payment was yours. Once you get a text from Liqpay saying the payment was a success, you are at the mercy of btc-e support, bitinstant reserves, the bitcoin blockchain(!) and probably a bunch of other random senseless & pointless factors happening that particular day before btc-e will let you spend it. Usually it's there in an hour or less but with the fork incident today it appears they went into "shut... down... everything" mode so I'm still waiting half a day later.

I have about 100ltc for every 1btc I own so I guess I have some faith in it. All I can say from experience is that gambling on an LTC site was a very smooth, rapid flow experience. Gambling with btc on satoshi dice was extremely aggravating and unpleasant filled with verification delays. I know gambling is stupid, but that's beside the point. If I send off a bet that is going to make or break me, and I pay the transaction fee, it's not a good user experience for me to chew my nails for 30 minutes plus. Paypal is faster than that. And so is litecoin.

I will stay with btc-e because I've had no bad experiences, and absolutely no objections whatsoever to them adding whichever currencies they choose, pre mined or "scam" or not. Them wishing to stay anonymous is a sensible choice in my opinion, and I'd do the same in their shoes.
Complaining to the sec really makes you look like a narc.

Seems to me like an easy solution, at least in my case of keeping the coin for myself or giving only to trusted family/friends as gifts, would be for tymm0 to sell the unfunded coin + an unused sticker/hologram for .4btc, and let the people print their own key & fund it themselves since they have the 5btc anyway. It's less work & liability for the seller, but they'd still make the same profit.

Do you have the ability to see the private keys as you are putting them under the sticker? Or is it like, sealed or something?
Is your sticker a traditional sticker, or is it tamper-proof? If so, any chance of a tampered pic? Thanks.

Mine were waiting for me this morning. Thanks again, Molecular & Casascius, they look great. My only sadness is that I had ordered the wrong size round plastic coin holders because I'm an idiot. The correct dimensions/weights are listed on Casascius.com. My mother used to have stuff called "Brasso" for polishing brass. It was quite amazing how well it worked. But I wouldn't recommend it in this case because it could damage the sticker.

Woolybit, do you have a credit or debit card? I think Paypal even offers them now? I'm pretty new to all this but also got sick of high aussie fees. The best way I've found is to join Liqpay, and then you can send funds from your credit card to BTC-e.com (an exchange like Mt Gox). The only fees you deal with are 1% when you deposit the funds into BTC-e, and a flat 0.01 btc fee to withdraw your coins out of the exchange. Oh and I think it's 0.02% fee on every trade on btc-e (aka when you actually purchase the coins on the exchange) A bonus is that you get to buy your btc on a proper exchange when the time is just right. I've only deposited money this way twice, but it all went ok. Be warned, expect the whole process to take around 24 hours for each deposit, until you get fully verified at liqpay, & then the process is supposedly instant. (I'm still waiting on their verification snail-mail)

I used spendbitcoins.com a few times. You make a cash deposit at a bank and they send the coins. There is also bitinnovate.com who seem cheaper & also accept cash deposits but I've not used them.

I use Electrum for its low bandwidth requirements. Its also pretty neat.

You get .01 btc for joining at bitcoin.de but I wouldn't bother unless you plan to do business there (minimum withdrawal issues)

I think I understand. Thanks.
