Please see the link above if you have any losses on inputs or CL.

While an investigation is considered, Let's account for what's been stolen and those of us who can afford it, can donate if we wish.

This is not an opportunity for accusations, are venting anger. Just facts about losses and evidence gathering.

In the grand scheme of things, I'm quite happy this happened when it did.
This was always a test of honesty, integrity, and business acumen.
My first and only Coinlenders CD was ~20 days from maturity.  Had my mature investment been successfully returned to my wallet, I would have had no hesitation in doubling my next investment.   Undecided
The search for a viable and honest bitcoin investment continues...
What about BTCJam? As I read it, the website only sets you up with borrowers but most other things are controlled by you, including ultimately the decision to proceed with the loan. Yes, it's a bit higher risk and more trouble since any borrower could default and then you'd lose your money, but all the risk would be distributed so it's not placing all of your money and trust in a single person. I had considered using this instead of CoinLenders for a while, and I wish I had now.

Feels a bit bad to put up competition for CL like that, but since it's dead... *shrug*

I'm already about as deep into peer-to-peer lending as I want to get (fiat) with Lending Club (steady 14% ROI).
The sad part here is the lost potential.  $1.XX million ain't shit compared to what this business could have produced.   Sad

Dont underestimate how huge CL is/was based on what people have said on this forum, it has a lot more than 4000 BTC in assets/loaned/invested etc.

CL got less Net val than the loaned amt - Can you confirm the post for this etc?

Your requested post
*EDIT
What he says is if the NET value that CL owns can't repay all depositors, he will announce.

Extra data for last post
Sometimes your own instincts is the best to listen to.

...

I also remembered a post that you removed but i can't find it coz it is full of ***** or symbols. Can't find.
I seems pissing here but really, really if you want your future in Bitcoin to be better. Don't do sth for doing it, blindly. Think of what you are doing, listen to your heart.

Well, based on what has been said there was a lot more than 4000 coins sitting in CL. Some people were heavily heavily invested. So... presuming the assets must be quite significant if they are above this amount, its going to be a long time before all payments come in. Some over the next year or even longer so I dont imagine he will try to start repayments next week unless people WANT to take a haircut. Doesn't make sense otherwise.

anyway, we all hope that TF can pay us back. Lets see if he had a keep his promised in the Chinese Thread too, announce when CL got less Net val than the loaned amt.

second thing, rather not topost in self mod thred despite not really trolling. TF had (and is) a guy who attempt to serves our community (despite he did it wrongly this time). He is respectful to other members (excepts trolls).

But the one that he disrespect the most is himself.

Yes, before he made Inputs.io , he had already been clear, crystal clear about the risk of having a wallet that private key is shared. aka shared wallet or web wallet. He is making this project for making it, while not thinking about the consequences of having 1 vulnerablitiy in wha the made.

The first sence that you got is often right. Trust yourself, respect yourself.

CL got less Net val than the loaned amt - Can you confirm the post for this etc?
248  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Inputs.io HACKED, 4 100 BTC STOLEN - REFUND DISCUSSION THREAD on: November 08, 2013, 02:43:17 PM
The people with serious money invested did so on CL where it is assumed they were not keeping large amounts accessable via inputs.io as they were loaned out etc and I cant imagine cl did a huge amount of transactions per day, unlike inputs.io.

Involvement of the Police will probably be sparked by bigger coin holders so I expect when he updates people about CL in the coming days... and people work out what % of these coins were lost... it will be a bit more clear what has happened and who to bring into the dialogue. If 40% of CL coins don't get refunded (for example) it will raise a huge amount of questions.

People assumed this money was loaned out (Not in a loose wallet) tied up in exchanges, or tied up in assets.

Hence if for example 40% is lost...that suggests they were in the inputs hot pocket. it doesn't really explain how he was making the interest payments in the first place....

A lot will become clear when people report refunds for CL.
249  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders Script :: Bitcoin Bank (Borrow+Deposit) Software :: Demo Available on: November 08, 2013, 02:24:07 PM
TF is quite trustworthy imo. I know CL would have to take a hair cut (Expecting at least 10% cut). I am not much worrying that TF is not paying us back. And if CL is still available for investing and if i wait a month or 2 i can get back in full value, i'd choose it.

The thing that worrying me is that with all the Mt. Dox, he might be arrested one day IF any clues were given and found his real identity. This would result in he having no access of his coins and potentially like DPR case. Having all reamining coins/asset seized

If he says (maybe in this forum) that if we wait, we could espect to have a full 100% refund, for example in 1-2 month, I would wait.

But only if there is a word of TF...

Better for him (less withdrawals), better for us (high refund).

Agreed.

Given the nature of his business, loaning btc, earning interest, assets etc. He should perhaps take notice of the community and look at his options. Some people will want instant money now, and perhaps they should take a hair cut if they so desire.

Some people will  be willing to let him continue his interest making activities (minus the use of inputs.io) and give him the opportunities to make some of the money back.

Mass withdrawal of funds reduces the liquidity for interest making exercies. It's not good for him, or his users.

Maybe he has already made his mind up, but he should engage his users and not only announce their fate when he is ready.

*Assuming he can keep a level head and not take any further large risks to make these interest amounts...
250  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders Script :: Bitcoin Bank (Borrow+Deposit) Software :: Demo Available on: November 08, 2013, 12:05:09 PM
Other users have been paid back in full for CD's.

TF stated that CL balances would never be used to pay back inputs.io balances.  I guess we wait and see.

THIS!

My (not only my) entire bitcoin stash lies with coinlenders (yes call me stupid)

These have been locked into CD's for months prior to the hack, presumably NOT in a hot pocket. The majority of locked cd's must be loaned out or invested or in exchanges. Otherwise he couldnt make the interest payments if they were just sitting around doing nothing.

Most of the coinlenders coins are surely working hard. Not sitting waiting to be stolen like web wallets.

We can do staistical analysis on these facts later but for the time being lets wait and see what the refund of CL bring.

Guys, please stay calm, TF did partial refund which pirates won't do.. Lets just wait for TF to come out with a solution...

Agreed. Have some patience.

I just got my full balance in CL out (over 20 BTC). Although transaction hasn't been confirmed yet, I now declare that TF has earned my full trust.

I just sent him an email, lets give him some time. He will have a lot to organise.
254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Million Mask March - Bitcoin Can Liberate on: November 06, 2013, 02:43:27 PM
Aren't we kind of past the Guy Fawkes mask thing by now? I mean, that was really very 2011, but these days aren't we fighting for mainstream? With millions of dollars in VC capital from the establishment?

Theres a theory out there that anonymous may have been taken over by a consortium of chinese Guy Fawkes mask manufacturers.

This march could be the most brazen evidence of that so far.

I heard that too!
255  Economy / Economics / Re: What is really backing the price? on: November 06, 2013, 02:42:41 PM
It's clearly a bubble. $20-30 price rises every day are not sustainable. It is going to pop and a lot of people will loose money.

Only if they buy high sell cheap.... they can always wait for it to stabilize back above the price they entered. Could happen.
256  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders Script :: Bitcoin Bank (Borrow+Deposit) Software :: Demo Available on: November 06, 2013, 02:40:10 PM
You should all stop the panic and let him sort this out.

How would you feel if you were looking after so many peoples coins and providing such a service.

Accidents happen, in this case because of thieves... better that its no longer possible to withdraw than allowing even greater losses.

But expert bitcoiners dont leave more than they can afford to lose in web wallets etc... right?

No need to panic then Smiley

Take care of them yourself.

which undoubtedly show what songs they are listening to, lots of pictures and hi to every newbie on the board Roll Eyes

You'd be surprised about the different types of spam that those who scam and those who just want to get paid for spam make. Still spamming regardless, but they're usually not the same.

I saw a 'what are you eating' thread I thought was quite bizarre.

Plz stay out of mah kitch'n. Kthnx.

Seriously though the offtopic board breeds a lot of posts. It worries me too. A huge part of surviving this forum though is identifying people to discount completely.
* chipug took a quick pic before she left....

Seriously though, I suppose this thread just highlighted the rope they use to hang themselves. Sorry 'bout that.

I love that pic, my new wallpaper!
