241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for Taxi on: September 07, 2017, 03:55:34 AM
Considering taxis don't even like accepting credit or debit cards, I doubt they would accept Bitcoin. At least until it becomes much easier. Keep in mind soon Uber will take more market share from taxis and also self-driving cars within 10 years!
242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Hassle of Using Bitcoin In Everyday Life on: September 07, 2017, 03:54:44 AM
Just wait until Bitcoin becomes mainstream. This will be one of those threads we look back at and laugh (when the price is $1,000,000). Everyone will be using Bitcoin easily by then on our smartphones. Cheesy
243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why compare BTC to USD? on: September 07, 2017, 03:53:48 AM
we know that the dollar is the world's currency, and America has a high economic stability. not just cryptocurrency even online businesses all use dollar shards, so the reason is simple to facilitate the exchange in whatever form you want.
Bitcoin is a global currency , we can say that but dollars isn't.
Bitcoins can be used in any countries if the trader accepts them , but USD is only accepted in America.
People prefer USD because they are more comfortable with them , but not everyone uses BTC in $ , like people in Europe would prefer€ and others would use their native currency.
Some of the people compare these two because dollar is our universal currency and bitcoin has potential to be global currency even it has no paper money or physical coin. But for now i do not think we need to compare these two because this is not in the same dimension of currency, one is centralized and one is decentralized. But hoping soon bitcoin would create a paper money to used by all people.

Exactly! The US Dollar is hands down the most used currency worldwide. It makes no sense to compare Bitcoin to the Japanese Yen, for example, because most people outside of Japan are unfamiliar with the exchange rate, whereas almost everyone knows the exchange rate of USD.
244  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any good Bitcoin games around? on: September 07, 2017, 03:52:02 AM
I don't think that it is a good idea to focus on bitcoin games like gambling sites, faucet games and etc. because there is so much more source of income for bitcoin that is better than those places like investing and trading. I am not against of having fun if you want to have some fun but just think for the possible time and bitcoin that will become waste if you will spend it on bitcoin games rather than meaningful way of earning.

Gambling isn't good no matter if we are talking about Bitcoin, fiat or anything else. These games only take poor people's money. It is much better to invest or save your money then gambling.
245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does China have a large part in the world of cryptocurrency? on: September 06, 2017, 03:04:31 AM
Yes. The Sleeping Giant has a big part in the cryptomarket. Most of the mining pools are located in China because of the low cost of electricity. Aside from that, most of the crypto related activities are frok China because some of the largest exchange sites are China based and I think, some of the whales are Chinese.

Jihan Wu controls nearly 50% of hashing power, and he comes from China. And this really sucks because he has arguable more power than anyone else in crypto right now and I doubt anyone expected this to be possible with how expensive mining equipment is these days.
246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you save bitcoin for fun or for future purpose? on: September 06, 2017, 02:16:55 AM
As I said in a previous post, I am saving my Bitcoins for the future when they will be worth over $1,000,000. I do not want to sell them this early and if I use them to buy something I will buy more automatically right after.
247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your plans with your Bitcoin? on: September 06, 2017, 02:14:56 AM
My plans with my Bitcoin are to save them for future purposes. I do not want to lose them by trading because in my experience trading can be difficult and it is too hard to time the market.
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What If Bitcoin is banned? on: September 06, 2017, 02:13:44 AM
Stupid question mate, I will keep using it online to purchase whatever merchants are selling and of course whatever I need to buy if possible to pay

With Bitcoin and if I ever needed to sell Bitcoin but I couldn't do it in my own country then I'd just try to find a buyer from outside of my country to

Sell them my Bitcoins for dollar and receive it via paypal or credit card, problem solved.

No such things as stupid questions, and imho this question is far from stupid.
While a ban in practice wouldn't really be feasible, governments can make it very hard for bitcoin if they want.

To the point where legally exchanging to fiat wouldn't be possible, or that vendors can't officially accept btc no more etc.

Everyone is saying we will all keep using it, and of course most of us will, but this would be a serious downfall for bitcoin if it ever would happen.

Even if it got banned it would not stop being used. Just like illegal drugs people still make, use and sell them but they are just illegal.
249  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to win Bitcoins with Signature Campaigns ??? on: September 06, 2017, 02:13:00 AM
You need to have a Junior Member account. Newbie account is too new to be taken seriously for a signature campaign! Tongue
250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Is Bitcoin? on: September 06, 2017, 02:12:30 AM
Bitcoin is the crypto currency.
Bitcoin has started since 2008.
And now there are 1 number of online revenue.
It's going to increase the price of the day. I hope
The price will be doubled in the coming year.

Bitcoin started in 2008?!

I was under the impression it started in 2009, but apparently not? What source do you have that it started in 2008? Are you talking about the beginning of the development or the actual launch?
251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1mb per block and scalability on: September 02, 2017, 06:52:21 PM

There must be a way to delete all the small "spam" transactions. This might leave some free space for all the other normal transactions in the 1mb block. The other members think that the Lighning Network will be the ultimate solution, but i`m skeptical about these offchain transactions.
If small transactions can be made off chain, blockchain has space left for large transactions. I do not need my morning coffee to be recorded forever. My store of value on the other hand has to be on blockchain.

I agree, LN is what you use to spend your BTC
Blockchain is where you store your value

It depends on where the transactions will take place. The plan is to move majority of transactions to offchain solutions such as lightning and sidechains. Even if then the bitcoin blockchain is not able to support the transactions, there will be a hard fork by developers to increase the block size.
If this is how it works, what are we waiting for?

Is there a timetable for lightning network support or offchain support?

I seriously can't wait until we get Lightning Network. It is going to be amazing. We will be able to do more transactions per second than even VISA or any other credit card company. It will truly make Bitcoin "a thing".
252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The next Bitcoin? on: September 02, 2017, 06:51:12 PM
Real chance - monero. Full anonymous transfer. I think it can second btc.. But btc will be as gold now in fiat currency

What about DeepOnion? Apparently it is slightly better than Monero in some ways. It is new though and most people haven't heard of it, but it is growing every day!
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: US Residents Buying IOTA on: September 02, 2017, 06:46:15 PM
Hi Peeps,

Where are US residents using BTC to buy Iota being that Bittfinex is now not available to US Res.

Thanks for the input

You can use any other exchange which accepts IOTA. Go to cryptomarketcap.com and search IOTA. You can find a list of all exchanges that accept IOTA and use your Bitcoin to buy it there instead. Wink
254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the transaction fee for BTC is too high? on: September 02, 2017, 06:22:58 AM
If you trade your BTC on websites like Bittrex or Cryptopia the fees can be $5, sometimes the fee is equal to half of your withdrawals. So do you think the fee is too high? If not then explain to me, please.

I guess the question you need to ask yourself is, "why am I withdrawing $10 at a time?" Bitcoin isn't coffee money anymore. These types of fees can largely be avoided by manually entering correct fees per 21co (aim for a 0-1 block delay, not next block). As for the exchanges, they have to deal with lots and lots of inputs, so their transactions are large. As long as blocks are full, there will be this sort of fee pressure.

So when it comes to exchanges, you should be limiting the number of times you withdraw. Make larger withdrawals to your local wallets where you can control the fees (and your transactions are smaller). And start batching your payments in general to save on fees.

Bro, haven't you heard of Lightning Network? You can use the Lightning Network to make almost instant, free transactions... it will be launched in 2018 most likely and Bitcoin will be like it started only much higher price. hahaha
255  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Falling...Is it Panic Time? on: September 02, 2017, 06:18:41 AM
Bitcoin falling its value doesn't mean you have to panic or move into other coins. You can consider this event as an opportunity to buy bitcoins
Whenever we see a dip in the market then it is a sign that we should buy at the dips and hold them for long term. That is the best thing to do and not to panic sell but to panic buy, treat those dumps or dips as an opportunity to buy more bitcoin and to earn more money in long term reasons.

Indeed! Buy low, sell high - that is how you win at trading.

Right now Bitcoin is crashing... but we will see how long it lasts. I think everyone wants to go above $5,000 so I am not sure why it crashed so early, but I think we will reach $5,500. Smiley
256  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin prices rise high on: September 02, 2017, 06:17:43 AM
it's not easy to answer the question "what is bitcoin?". I did explain the basic knowledge about bitcoin to my friend and it costs me at least 2 hours for they to understand. Too many details i need to tell him and i guarantee many "bitcoin holder" can't explain what is bitcoin.

As soon as you start getting into the details they get turned off because it can be very hard to understand. With that said, someday it will be taught in school and everyone will know what it is.
257  Economy / Economics / Re: How to invest in bitcoin? on: September 02, 2017, 06:17:01 AM

I have seen many ways to earn bitcoin, and still not familiar with some of it. I am a student and I wanna ask how to invest in bitcoin, and if students like me are capable of doing that already?

Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

Student hood is filled with talent and fire of doing new things always. If you are art student or science student if you have abilities to create new designs, code software or create video then you can use these skills to earn bitcoin with premium rates. This forum is always looking for guys like you, if you are missing what I'm saying then you should go into announcement section where new ICO projects are launched along with the opportunity to work for these projects. They pay more than hundred dollars in bitcoin for short videos and you can get upto thousands of dollars if yo are having any better skills. Rest of the ways are traditional will keep going on as it is with more or less payout.

I think art is not necessarily the best way to make big money in Bitcoin, but maybe science I agree with you on that one.
258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investment technique for Bitcoin? on: September 02, 2017, 06:15:39 AM
Can you teach me on how to invest in bitcoin wisely? I have a tight budget for it!

It sounds like you are from a non-English speaking country. What is your budget like? It all depends how much you start with. I would suggest just buying Bitcoin and forget about it. Someday it will pay off for you. Wink
259  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 BTC = 2nd Hand Honda Civic on: September 01, 2017, 03:17:30 PM
Here in my country 1 BTC can buy a land. And if in september the price of bitcoins is higher. Maybe not just land. House and land. So be patient with bitcoin as we get the answer to our poverty. And go ahead and be financially independent

How much does land cost in your country? If you don't mind which country do you live in?

I think a house is still more expensive than 1 Bitcoin surely. But you know better than me. Cheesy
260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to earn Bitcoin without investment on: September 01, 2017, 03:15:44 PM
Hey Bitcoiners? I'm desperate to start earning BTC
I'll do any kind of online activity as long as there's a Bitcoin payment. Where do I start?
You may try faucets even if some people are saying that it is a waste of time. But to make things clear, you may earn Bitcoin withouth investment, and it is possible with campaigns. In every Bounty campaign there are social media campaign such as twitter and facebook, there's also translation campaign and ofcourse, signature campaigns. These campaigns will distribute tokens deoendingbon your stakes acquired, tokens can be converted into Bitcoin varying on the tokens market value.

Faucet is worthless these days. You barely get anything from them.

Also signature campaigns require investment of your time. time = money !!!

Faucet are worthless if you are trying alone but if you have a good referral system then you can earn from faucet also through referral. without giving time how can you expect to earn . about earning from altcoin bounty campaigns is correct what you mentioned as their are lot of option where if the altcoin listed with high margin then you earn a good amount of bitcoin by selling that coins.

This is true. The only way to make money with faucets is either you have many referrals underneath you or you use a script to get free Bitcoin without doing it yourself.
