Gold and Silver are both alternative assets and will be forever. I can't see a scenario where gold and silver will lose value, even if cryptocurrencies take over as the new norm over fiat currency. I would put money into Gold purely for the fact that it is a good hedge against the stock market.

Within a portfolio, I would likely diversify between precious metals and cryptocurrencies along with commodities and/or forex investments. For the average investor with a 401k or IRA, I think performing a Gold IRA rollover is a good option to get into gold as a commodity.   

Just do a quick search for a Bitcoin ATM in your local area. There are over 4,000+ Bitcoin ATMs worldwide, so finding one should be simple especially if you are in a country travelers love to visit.

I would probably try out the Electrum wallet. If you are on mobile, I would try out the BRD wallet. Either way, it's not good to store your bitcoin in a hot wallet, so you should always ensure you move it to a cold wallet.

I think after last year's bull run we are definitely past the inflection point of early adoption. At this point, it is about surpassing the period of disillusionment, and the cycle will continue. I think once the Blockchain realizes more applications in governments and businesses is when we'll see all cryptocurrencies prosper.
