241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Annual Proof of Keys January 3rd on: December 26, 2019, 11:44:54 AM
Of course removing coins from exchange January 3 and moving back to exchange in 4h is idiot, but that's not what the event is about

Withdrawing the funds on the 3rd and bringing it back on the 4th isn't THAT stupid per se, it's not stupid if you're a daytrader. Especially for those people who's main source of income is trading. But yes, checking an exchange's solvency isn't the only goal to be achieved here. It's to hopefully make people comfortable in holding their funds ont heir own wallets as it's pretty safe to assume that a huge majority of people still store non-trading funds on centralized exchanges.

I am actually also guilty of storing some of my cryptocurrencies in centralized exchanges but it is because the dollar equivalent of those assets are not really gargantuan. I am more inclined to believe that centralized exchanges are actually anathema to the very idea of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency which is decentralization. However, nothing can really be perfect and we have to accept that for now (and I am hoping this can be changing soon) centralized exchanges are offering better and convenient services and of course they know how to market their services to the targeted market.
242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Securities Regulator Says Crypto Investments Are Top Investor Threat in 2020 on: December 26, 2019, 11:14:09 AM

Seems to me that NASAA is lumping the many frauds and scams in the cryptocurrency industry with the few legitimate ones. While we should acknowledge that cryptocurrency investing can indeed be very risky in comparison with other investment vehicles, there is also no denying that top cryptocurrencies are giving the best ROI so far. I think it should be clear that there are indeed many ponzi schemes in this industry and they are here to exploit the newness and the interest plus some trust that people are bestowing to cryptocurrency. However, these scams should not be defining this industry in the same that famous and big scams in the past (remember the Madoff case?) should not be the definition of the very industry they are playing.

245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Banks Went from Dismissing Bitcoin, to Seeing it as a Revolution on: December 24, 2019, 05:07:02 AM

And maybe this is why some big banks are now thinking and planning to have their own version of cryptocurrency though it must be a centralized one (which of course can be raising some eyebrows if they can be successful). Anyway, what is clear is that Bitcoin has been and will be a concern of influence which can be affecting how banks can be reacting. Will it mean that one day the banking industry will also be riding the Bitcoin bandwagon? That can be a possibility because where there is a possibility to make some profits banks will be there for you. However, back 10 years ago, the same situations are not the same right now so this is partly one reason why we are not seeing an avalanche of interest with Bitcoin especially from the masses as they are now a little more comfortable dealing with the usual banks, waiting for the time when there can be another recessions and banks can be failing big time.
246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Deloitte warns Bitcoin over Google's Quantum computing risk on: December 24, 2019, 04:42:01 AM
Quantum computing is overhyped in this year. It will be not so soon. And really not soon in mass using

And it can still be over-hyped in 2020 and beyond until such time that we can be really sure that what Google has so far achieved in quantum computing is not a big treat to cryptocurrency. Personally, I am not seeing a problem here and that it is still many years before there would be algorithm that can destroy the cryptography of Bitcoin. There can be a time like that but of course it does not mean that Bitcoin developers will just be sitting down and relaxing and just wait things to happen. There will always be an anti-dote to anything. We ordinary guys involved with cryptocurrency has no power whatsoever in case Google will one day have a weapon that they are so willing to use against cryptocurrency.  In other words, there is no need to fret or worry because that is just a waste of time.
247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would a Crypto Based Economy Make Things Safer? on: December 24, 2019, 04:29:30 AM

Would this create a more safer community? would this cause people not to resort to crime? substance abuse? etc? Your thoughts why or why not?

Personally, I do not believe that cryptocurrency can be the solutions to societal problems like crimes, substance abuse and similar things. What cryptocurrency is providing is the empowerment of the people away from the glaring control and influence of the government so that we can free from the ill-effects of government's tendency to print paper money anytime which is acutely robbing the people of the value of the money they are holding. Crimes will still be here and can even be enhanced by cryptocurrency because perpetrators will be thinking that they can easily go away with anything they do due to "anonymity" of cryptocurrency (they are not 100% right with this assumption, of course). As to substance abuse, there is no way that cryptocurrency can be able to deal with it. People will still be doing many stupid things even if they are dealing with cryptocurrency, the same situation if they are into fiat money. People will still have the freedom to choose right or wrong, to do bad or good things even if we are going to be under a cryptocurrency economy.
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin is a get rich quick scheme, then fiat is a get poor slow scheme on: December 24, 2019, 04:11:06 AM
Fiat will be replaced by crypto currency but i dont think it will be bitcoin. Government want to control everything and even fiat money , bitcoin cant control by the governement so  they will create thier own and will use blockchain technology to make a new way of payment before fiat currency fall.

Yes, this is quite a possibility. We see right now that some governments are already planning to launch their own versions of a cryptocurrency although there are now some precedents like the failing Petro of Venezuela, yet we have not seen a big country taking cryptocurrency with full force, maybe what China is cooking can be the litmus test on the probability and viability of a state-sponsored and run cryptocurrency. Once China can be successful with its cryptocurrency we might be seeing other big governments like Russia, EU and even the USA taking notice. However, I also don't think that Bitcoin will die because of this as the opposite can even be happening.
249  Economy / Services / Re: Yobit.net signature campaign on: December 24, 2019, 03:50:25 AM

I am leaving this campaign,The new sig is not right (in my view),Thanks Yahoo for managing the campaign.

250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Can I pay in Bitcoin here?" - go and ask this each time you pay something! on: December 24, 2019, 02:31:21 AM

Of course, this can be helping a lot because all businesses are always listening to their customers or clients and if they can sense that a good number of people or possible customers are asking for something which they think they can easily provide then they will do it. In fact, the biggest reason why we have low number of merchants is because people are not asking for the possibility to pay with Bitcoin as the majority of Bitcoin holders are more concerned with speculations rather use Bitcoin as a currency or to pay with something. When there is a big demand from people that they be served with the choice of paying with Bitcoin, then there is no question that a business will really do anything to have it on board. In other words, we have a big problem on the demand side.
251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Review 2019: Five milestones in US blockchain industry regulation on: December 24, 2019, 02:11:11 AM

US indeed is trying to introduce harsher measures in crypto field and we have seen some significant changes in 2019. IRS has also designed a new tax form for individuals to declare the crypto holding of their citizens! But it is always better to have something than nothing! Majority of the nations don't have any regulations around cryptos and many other have banned it! At least it's not banned in US and people are still able to function!

I fully agree. USA has been a strict but lucrative market and as one of the new industries around we should not and could not be demanding much, so we should allow the government to take the time because eventually a clearer view on regulations will be slowly taking place. There is no magic here. Regulations can be taking time, and we should allow its evolution to happen gradually. Indeed, strict regulations is a lot better than an outright ban just like what the government of China is doing where even exchanges are finding it hard to operate and do business. In the USA, people have the free means and ways to express whatever ideas and opinions they may have even contrary to the existing government, and that is something may not be true in other countries. Let's count the blessings not so much on things lacking.
252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Xmas promo pool scam on: December 24, 2019, 01:58:12 AM

I’m just glad that I’m not one of them. However, I’m sorry for those who have fell for this brand new scamming technique.
It’s just that the hard-earned money of these investors are being put to waste, as it was left to the hands of that filthy scumbag. I just felt bad for those who are scammed though, because they could have used some of those funds for celebrating Christmas with their beloved families.

When a program is heavily appealing to the sense of greed and selfishness which we all have as humans, there is more likelihood that it would just be another exit scam. And that is why I am still wondering why do people keep on being victimized by these well-crafted scams when red flags can be seen and hears all over the place. However, I can understand these victims because I was once one of them also but I already learned my big lessons. When something can be too good to be true then in most probability it really is.
253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has gone up the past week. on: December 24, 2019, 12:33:48 AM
It has gone up around $800, do you think they could run it up and then I would come down before January 1 before the new year. Or they will not come in to play?  I’m waiting for some money to clear to buy some. And I don’t know right now is the best time to buy

One of the big lessons I learned with Bitcoin is we really don't know for sure when it can be making another pump or another dip. The best strategy then for anyone planning to enter the Bitcoin bandwagon is not to buy in bulk or make your purchases scheduled from time to time so that you can have the opportunity to buy at a lower price. Of course, this all depends on your taste of the risks. When it reached the $6K level, I think that was a golden opportunity but in my opinion at today's rate of around $7300 this is still a good bargain as we are waiting for the halving influence to be taking shape maybe starting January.
254  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin prices dropped so low a few days ago؟ on: December 24, 2019, 12:24:32 AM
Tell me why Bitcoin prices dropped a few days ago۔ Let me tell you what the reason was۔

Every time Bitcoin is dropping or rising its price in the marketplace, people have this tendency to look for the possible reasons of such development. And of course, that is part of human nature. The latest "bearish" mood of Bitcoin resulted from the withering demand for it from the users and the traders and of course we might say that there can be some manipulations involved like we always heard anytime but that can be subject to a lot of debates and discussion yet nothing concrete can be arrived at. In other words, this is all about supply and demand but what are the things that influence it? Well, your guess is as good as mine. With Bitcoin, anything goes, anything can be the reason depending on which is one will stick and can be accepted by the many. As a very volatile asset, Bitcoin is always subjected to anything hopefully its very resiliency is tested by fire and arrows and it is still alive.

258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DEX(es) how should they work with FIAT on: December 23, 2019, 08:30:25 AM
Some dexes use stablecoins to solve this problem. While it's not ideal as it still depends on third-party, they don't require direct KYC for the traders. Other than that, maybe you should not use fiat if you plan to trade on DEX.

This is actually the best solution in my point of view. Stablecoin can then be playing a big role in decentralized exchanges as it would be not recommended for them to be using the usual fiat monies. And I am sure that traders and just plain exchange users would not have any problem with the use of stablecoins, in the first place.
259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin on 3rd January? on: December 23, 2019, 08:14:19 AM

That date January 3, 2020 is the anniversary of the mining of the Bitcoin genesis block. I am not so sure why there is a hype around this date and this is actually the first time for me to hear that there can be a strong significance and maybe a possible correlation with the price of Bitcoin. Usually, most of the hypes right now are all focused on the coming rewards halving comes May 2020. Well, if this date can be helping Bitcoin go upwards then so be it. I would be happy to note of this and maybe then expect something good to come out of it.
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price in 2020. on: December 23, 2019, 04:45:58 AM
Currently, ETH price is at 127$. ETH has not done that well this year. And the altcoin market is very much dependent on the ETH price. So what value are you expecting during the upcoming year? Is there any possibility of recovery or it will keep continuing to go down?

I am expecting some good recovery for Eth this 2020 as Bitcoin is going to have its rewards halving around May of the same year. We know that Eth is also dependent and interconnected with Bitcoin, one way or another. When BTC will be rising then there is a strong possibility that Eth can also be pulled up. I am actually hoping that at least Eth can reach the $200 level again. However, since nothing is guaranteed in this market your guess is as good as mine so let's just continue to watch and still be excited of the many opportunities around in the world of cryptocurrency market.
