2401  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Claiming Bitcoin Cash and Gold On New Computer and Nano Ledger S? on: March 29, 2019, 03:03:12 AM
Okay the claiming bitcoin gold thing through android is through that program coinomi as i just went through old threads.  But now i read there are issues with it?

HCP, right now i have access to another computer.  The issue though is its windows 7 which isn't a big deal.  But i did a clean reinstall of it a while back but issue is i didn't do it correctly as i still have old files from it.  Also its extremely slow and has no antivirus protection at the moment.  Have to download one.

Would you suggest first do a clean reinstall of windows 7 everything to make sure its fully clean first before installing electron cash on it?  Installing electron cash on the computer now where it might potentially have a virus is not good idea right?  I don't think it has virus... i did clean reinstall it but i didnt delete those old files... so if any old files have virus then its not good idea?  I know you said installing electron cash on same device as electrum is fine as you did it with no issues.  But you did say look at your tolerance and risk to it and you said for you, it wasn't risky because you know what you are doing.
2402  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Claiming Bitcoin Cash and Gold On New Computer and Nano Ledger S? on: March 28, 2019, 11:44:31 PM
HCP.  Well i want to claim the forks so i have them in the nano ledger s or whatever wallet so i dont have to think about it in the future.

You could claim bitcoin gold on a laptop?  Im pretty sure i never heard this?  I remember many ppl said you should use an android phone for it for gold.  What program you suppose to use on a laptop for bitcoin gold

Well the thing is this.  Well i kept all my btc in electrum for a while before i moved them to my nano ledger s.  So i of course still have that 12 word phrase with electrum.  Thus i don't want to have anything in electrum anymore due to the security etc.   Thus i want to get the bitcoin cash, gold, sv etc so then i have nothing left in electrum.  Does that make sense?  I actually have some btc still left in electrum but i havent opened the program yet due to reading about the fake updates with it so i just want to take precaution.  Because i still havent claimed my btc cash yet.

So right now im going to use a desktop to claim my btc cash.  So download from electroncash and do that right but make sure its the correct link?

Then do that with the link you posted for bitcoin gold as oppose to using an android to claim btc gold?
2403  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Claiming Bitcoin Cash and Gold On New Computer and Nano Ledger S? on: March 27, 2019, 12:47:10 AM
Has there been anyone that still have not claimed their BCH yet or Bitcoin gold?

Im planning to claim both of them as i will have access to another laptop as i don't want to do this on the computer with electrum on it.  So when claiming, bitcoin cash, do it with electron cash and make sure its right link right?  Then once i do that, send it to my nano ledger s?

Then claim the bitcoin gold from an android phone?  And once i do that, send it to my nano ledger s?

Then what about the bitcoin sv?  How do i claim that?

I want to claim all of these and have them sent to my nano ledger s.  I been putting it off for way too long.

2404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sprouting Bitbean is 10X more profitable than mining on: March 25, 2019, 11:13:07 PM
Thanks for that info.  So basically someone with a 100000 bitbean balance and has this program all 24/7 the entire year will basically make 2500 beans a month or 30000 bitbean a year?

Thus 100000 bitbean plus 30000 bitbean = 130000?

If thats the case, one is going to make around 33 percent interest on the bitbean a year?
2405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Protecting Your Computer? on: March 24, 2019, 06:38:27 AM
Besides making sure not to download the wrong programs that can be fake programs like fake wallets and not clicking on links, what other important things should you do to protect your computer?  Yes i know you should not put crypto in it but even those who have hardware wallets, some coins cannot be put in the hardware wallet and you need to put it on its own wallet you install or in an exchange.

First off, does everyone here put a password on their computer?  I read the windows password is completely useless.  But does anyone here use veracrypt or a program where you must enter a password on your computer before you can log in?  Because i read cases where a hacker if they have access to your laptop can put a virus, trojan, keylogger in your computer... then shut down your computer and if you never knew someone accessed your computer, well anything you type on it can be visible to the hacker.  Of course this requires someone smart to have physical access to your laptop.  Thus if they take your laptop, well even if they put a trojan on it, well as long as you don't type your stuff on it, thats fine.

Can someone tell me what program they use to password protect their laptop?  I do not do this as i heard this process is not that simple.  I heard there is either veracrypt or bitlocker.  Are those the only 2 options or best 2 options?  If so, which do you choose and with it, does that mean a thief with access to your laptop cannot get into your laptop and store anything in it like trojan unless they have the password?  Because say someone installed a trojan in your laptop while you are not there for a bit... let say its just a friend who did it b/c they know you have crypto... that is dangerous.  Any advice here?
2406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sprouting Bitbean is 10X more profitable than mining on: March 23, 2019, 06:10:23 PM
No i did not know that.  Okay so if you have 100000 beans.  In your example with you will get 5000 beancash everyday from 24/7 sprouting, that is every month or every 2 months?   So where do you get the 5x block reward?  So what if someone has 50000 beans?
2407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sprouting Bitbean is 10X more profitable than mining on: March 23, 2019, 03:25:48 AM
What does that mean get 5x block in two months with 100000 beans?  How much beans is that when you say 5x per month?

Wait so if you use your regular computer for this and have it turned on while you do other things, this will increase your electricity by a lot?  Thus sprouting uses lot of energy on your computer?
2408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Used Computer Equipment For CryptoCurrency Unsafe? on: March 22, 2019, 06:13:16 PM
To the people that say use hardware wallet and forget about anything else.  I have one.  But the thing is other coins i have... they are not compatible with the hardware wallet.  So what do you do then?

Also if you trade on your computer for example and have wallets on it because your hardware wallet doesn't support those coins, you need to keep those wallets in your computer.  So what is your option there?

So for example say your internet modem broke and you need to replace it.  Or your internet router broke and you need to buy a new one.  Would buying a used modem be fine or not if its used?  What if the seller is very reputable?  Now what if its a router?  If you buy a used router from a reputable seller online, is that reputable?  Because what would concern me is if the modem or router, you go online with it... then that person or anyone that put something in it could track your visiting websites and also track anything you do such as crypto or trading or banking etc.  Could they put a keylogger or virus on a used modem?  What about a router?  I assume a router would be more likely but a modem isn't?  Because if you need a new modem or router, is it unsafe to buy a used one or not?  Also those of you that say well a new computer or equipment isn't safe because what you do it on can cause issues.  Well of course.  But i mean getting the actual equipment.  So has anyone heard of cases where someone bought a used modem or wireless router and their computer got hacked/keylogged or anything like that with crypto?
2409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sprouting Bitbean is 10X more profitable than mining on: March 22, 2019, 06:03:32 PM
okay so can someone give me the steps to sprout bitbean?

How much minimum bitbean would i need?  Would i need at least 100000 bitbean?

So if i have that much and have my computer on 24/7, how much bitbean would i earn a month?  And in a year i earn 12x it right?  But are there like high electricity cost or anything like this with this program open all the time?  Is it fine if you use your regular computer that you do everything on it or its better to use a separate computer?

Also assuming bitbean stays same price the entire time, wouldn't you be earning interest so to speak on it?  And if you how much percentage?

So if someone buys 1 million bitbean, they could make decent money doing this by sprouting it assuming the price stays the same?  Because that would be a nice way to make passive income.
2410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Buying Used Computer Equipment For CryptoCurrency Unsafe? on: March 21, 2019, 10:24:35 PM
I know many people store their crypto in their hardware wallets.  Some store it on their computers.  Some have a computer solely for crypto to be safe.

First off, is buying anything that used for the computer unsafe if you plan to store crypto in it?  Example buying a used laptop but then doing a complete factory reset and wiping everything?  Or could a hacker still put a virus/keylog in it?

Now what about other things?  Like imagine buying a used wireless mouse or keyboard.  What about a wired mouse or keyboard?  Or maybe even a used modem or wireless router?  Is it possibly to get a virus/hack keylogged if buying anything like this used?  I thought modem/router possible because well its connecting to the internet?  Obviously something like a used monitor cannot cause anything like this right?  What about a used usb cable connecting your modem to your computer?  A used flash drive definitely for sure?  But you should never have an issue if its a new one right?

With a wired mouse or keyboard, could someone just install something inside it or something and you get keylogged etc?  What if say you left your keyboard with someone and say that person is a hacker and then install something into it.  Then when you plug it into your computer, could you get hacked?

What about a modem or router?  Could someone install something inside it where when you connect to the internet, they see everything you type etc?  Like i know hackers put out fake wifi so if say a starbucks or hotel is there, you connect to it thinking its that wifi but its actually a hacker putting the name to trick you etc.  Then you connect to it and they see all your credit card info.

Obviously you should buy things new.  But if its a modem or router or computer, if you do a factory reset, does that 100 percent wipe everything clean?  I heard of cases where people would install trojans in other people laptops without them knowing.  The person then later access their laptop or notice things got hack etc.

Thoughts on all this?  Now let just say its not for crypto but just regular email and banking and everything else.  Is buying any of these things used foolish?  Or imagine just borrowing a wireless mouse or modem from someone such as a friend or acquaintance... but their intention was they know you had crypto and put a virus on the modem or mouse.  Thoughts on this?

So could you get hacked/keylogged on

1.  Wireless Mouse or Keyboard
2.  Wired Mouse or Keyboard
3.  Modem or Router
4.  Monitor
5.  USB Flash Drive
6.  Ram

From this list, i know USB Flash Drive is 100 percent because you can store files there.  Thus if a hacker has your laptop, they could just plug the flash drive in and put a virus/keylog and then leave your computer as is and then you access it and you have no clue right?

I assume the only one in this list which is impossible would be a monitor right?

But what about a used modem or router or mouse or keyboard?  I assume wireless increases chances a lot than wired right?
2411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sprouting Bitbean is 10X more profitable than mining on: March 21, 2019, 10:07:45 PM
Okay so to do this, you need minimum 100000 beancash?  Or is 10000 too little?

Okay if you have 100000 beancash to do this, how many would you get a month on average if you have your computer on 24/7?  If you have it on 12 hours a day then its half that right?  But does this increase your electricity by a lot or anything like this?

So what if someone has 1 million beancash?  Of course that isn't even lot of money because of how much its worth now.  So if they have it on all year 24/7, they expect to earn how much beancash?  So basically assuming beancash stays same price the entire year, they are basically earning interest off of this?  So how much percent interest is this roughly in a year if it being on 24/7?  Say 1 million beancash... you earn how much per month and how much per year?  Because if it stay same price, isn't this better than money in the bank so to speak?
2412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waves Airdrops? on: March 21, 2019, 10:04:16 PM
How do we check if the coins are legit?  Also someone mentioned a while back that if they are not legit, then you could get a virus from clicking on that coin info... is that true or false?

2414  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Ledger Live Question on: March 14, 2019, 02:27:46 AM
I have nano ledger s and keep my btc there.  I previously kept btc in electrum but still have some there.  I use to use the chrome app to use ledger s.  Last time i set up ledger live with it.

1.  So this means whenever i plug in my nano ledger s into my laptop, i have the option to either use the ledger wallet bitcoin app or the ledger live app?

2.  I put a password on the ledger live app.  Can someone explain to me what i do when i connect my nano ledger s into my laptop and want to use it with ledger live?  I have not done this in a while and forgot the entire step by step process.

3.  When i plug in the nano ledger s into my laptop and want to use it with the google chrome app... first i plug it in.  Then i have to input my code right?  Then i click on ledger wallet bitcoin app on the chrome store?  Then i recall it made me choose 2 things.  One question i believe is bitcoin or bitcoin cash and i choose bitcoin right?  Then afterwards it ask legacy or segwit.  Im close to 100 percent i used segwit last time.  But is there a way to make sure i set it up with segwit?  What if i press segwit but it was actually legacy?  Then it wont show any btc?  I want to make sure this is the exact order its done and questions asked because i havent used it in a while.
2415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Waves Airdrops? on: March 13, 2019, 07:10:38 PM
I keep my waves in my waves wallet.  I also lease them as well.  As many of you know, you get things sent to your wallet for holding waves.

1.  Are these called airdrops or not?  If not, name?  Or some are airdrops but others aren't?

2.  Someone mentioned that lot of these coins are fake coins and they are not legit?

3.  When i click on my portfolio i have coins like this

Tidex
Liquid
Turtlenode
grantsbounty
wavesnode.net
socl oceanlab
voltroon
coffeecoin
eot token
age of universe
progression
x token
y token
bullrun coin
zenycash

I have over 50 of these coins at least in these assent name.  I also notice many shows false under reissuable.  Some are true.  Can someone explain what does false vs true mean?  So false are fake coins that are not real but true is?  However that cant be true because it shows false for liquid and i know that is a legit coin.

Could i sell any of these coins i have in my waves portfolio wallet?  There are at least 50 of these coins minimum.  Some of these look fake... it shows x token, y token and you got many others looking like that.  Do you click transfer or details?

Anyone with a waves wallet and these things in their portfolio could explain what we could do with these coins?
2416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sprouting Bitbean is 10X more profitable than mining on: March 13, 2019, 07:24:29 AM
How much beans are you getting a week or month with the 10000 beancash you have?  Im curious but does using the wallet to sprout so to speak use a lot of electricity or anything like that?

So if you have your computer on at least 12 hours a day, that is not enough to sprout the bean?  I checked the site and it seem you earn 250 beancash for every 10000 beancash every month according to that calculator.  But that is incorrect?  Thats only if you have your computer on 24/7 for an entire month?  So if only 12 hours a day everyday, you get 125 beancash a month?
2417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BNB is mooning. again on: March 12, 2019, 07:27:42 PM
Does anyone think this coin could hit 100 dollars?  This seem to be only coin that is doing good consistently.
2418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sprouting Bitbean is 10X more profitable than mining on: March 12, 2019, 05:59:20 PM
All I can say is I've been sprouting beans ever since I bought and had my wallet open. Daily.

The only shame is that the coin has lost a lot of value since last summer and the staking hasn't compensated for the price drop.

But oh well, that's the same picture everywhere. We're all waiting for the bull market to come back...

How much are you getting by sprouting?  Example you have 5000 or 10000 bitbean.  So you sprout it but how much you get a week or month?  So you telling me if you sprout it... say with 10000 bitbean... after say a month, you can get 10 or so?  Im randoming thinking of a number.
2419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sprouting Bitbean is 10X more profitable than mining on: March 12, 2019, 05:57:51 PM
Okay so what is the official beancash wallet?  So don't bother keeping it in an exchange then?

Wait so you mean have my computer turned no as long as possible and the wallet as well to sprout the beans?  What exactly is sprouting?  So we can get more beancash by having the wallet opened or something?  Example you have 10000 beancash.  You keep your computer on for 12 hours a day with the wallet open, what do you get after a day, a week, a monmth?

2420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Create a Waves Platform Wallet.Lease your Tokens and get Rewarded.Trade on DEX. on: March 12, 2019, 05:55:15 PM
I have leased my waves with you a long time ago.  I notice i get tons of other things like

miner reward
million coin
waves

And tons of other names that i never heard of.  Are these legit?  I know that liquid was legit but i no longer get that anymore.
