I suspect that more people at least subconsciously think about the house edge than you think.
This is why many players prefer games like Roulette or Baccarat to traditional slot machines, because
these slot machines obviously have a terrible house edge in general (e.g. at brick and mortar
casinos slots sometimes have a house edge of up to 30 % in my country, which is ridiculous).

I think that a lot of it comes down to game choice more than house edge. Roulette is a far more entertaining game than slots or dice in my opinion so I play it even though I know it has a higher house edge.

15% is normal for slots in my country. Why do the casinos (brick and mortar) not compete and advertise a lower house edge than their rivals? The advertise promotions and giveaways because that's what brings people in, not a 0.x% better house edge.

How did you realize that those winners were bots?

Bots are easy to recognise when you look at them. The hard part is finding them amongst 16 million accounts.

And how do you pay to winners? If it is all automatically then how did you get them back?(I mean those prizes)

It is automatic but wetsuit waited for the draw and then checked the winners and zeroed the balances on the cheats. We are actually getting a lot tougher on multi-accounting abuse and I've deleted several hundred thousand accounts this week.
2403  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★ Crypto-Games.net ★ Player just won 1.3 million $ ★ 1 ETH Roulette Giveaway ★ on: August 31, 2018, 02:45:33 PM
just saying why would you slow down someone losing crypto. speed it up and make more $$$

Maybe 0.8% of 1 Satoshi isn't worth much more than the bet cost to process. People might even get a little frustrated and increase there bet size to speed it up.
2404  Economy / Gambling / Re: Overview of Active Casino/Dice Sites Accepting BTC on: August 31, 2018, 02:41:53 PM
I'd argue the opposite as almost everyone knows the green pocket on the roulette wheel is where the house wins.   Thats your classic house edge, the house gets a free ride on every spin and thats how they pay the bills

Not if you put a chip on 0.  Wink

How many of them know it is 2.7% on roulette or double that on an American wheel? Not many I bet. How many people playing slots at a bricks and mortar casino ever ask the house what the edge is? It is often obsessed about on this forum and that maybe something to do with Bitcoin attracting a certain type of person but in the wider world it really isn't. Have a look on gambling forums and it is hardly ever discussed.

Only 10 hours left in this months wagering contest.

Plenty of time for someone to come in and take the $10,000 first prize.

About the Freedoge : I suppose some changes are in the pipeline?

We're rebranding and expanding freebitco.in so eventually it will have doge as well. There's not much point doing anything to freedoge.co.in before that happens.
2407  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: August 30, 2018, 05:19:12 PM
just a quick question: is it possible to deposit 4x 0.001 BTC in single transactions in one mix session to the same deposit address and receive one 0.004 BTC chip then? or has it to be 0.004 btc in one transaction in order to get a chip?

Yes, you can do that. You get full flexibility with the chips as you can mix them up or down into any denomination you require.

if you can check what percentage of the total user

base is still actively using their accounts? Looking at my referrals over the last couple of years, not a lot of them are still

using their accounts and I just want to know if this is the norm?

It is very normal for all gambling sites and also faucets to have low retention rates. The site stats won't tell us much more than that. The vast majority of my referrals only played 1 or 2 spins. They probably saw the "Win $200 for free" in my signature then when they tried it though 'I'll never win' and just didn't come back. It's the few that do stay that matter. One of my referrals started gambling in the last 2 months after having been active since 2013. They've wagered 11.8 BTC this month alone.

I talked about our non gambling attitude many times with Myfe (your predecessor Quin?) ~

Yes, he vanished at a time when there were a lot of problems so wetsuit asked me to take over.

On another issue : the solve media captcha on freedoge is becoming so difficult or not loading that is discouraging to roll.
Grts from Belgium

I'll mention it to wetsuit but I wouldn't expect any changes on freedoge.

There are not many gamblers that stop while they're ahead and hit the withdraw button but this one did.
who knows maybe it is the same person but using different account Tongue
btw, how do you know that he's winning and not losing? can you see each user's stats
I can imagine that he has probably at least 10 BTC balance to raise total wager of 100+ BTC

wetsuit gave me a promotion this week and I now have access to the user database. I'm going to be taking on a lot more responsibilities as wetsuit wants to concentrate on development.

This one is still playing the same account just not with such large amounts. I wouldn't say what their balance was but it is quite normal for people to wager at least 20x a starting balance and sometimes a lot more.

The wagering contest for the month of August will be ending soon, but it seems that the winner on the 1st place of the previous wagering contest is not wagering big amount this month, the user ID of the winner in the previous wagering contest is 14107731, but I didn't see him taking up any spots yet in the top 10 players for this month wagering contest, I was thinking if he will appear and start to wager huge amount of money before this month wagering contest ends or will we see a new player winning this month big prize for the 1st place.

Unless he/she is addicted to gambling then they may gamble every day and month. But he may be thinking that whatever he has got lost month may be good enough and may come back sometime later. If you play or wager dice game more and more then finally people lose more than they get. Good luck to the people who are competing this month.

There are not many gamblers that stop while they're ahead and hit the withdraw button but this one did.

Touching on affiliate numbers, I wonder if edge still plays a big role in proper gamblers wanting to do long term play. From what I've learnt (unscientific of course) from successful affiliates, very few referred players stay on once they've made their big wins/big busts and edge doesn't quite matter to them as much as how much they can win from their play and how likely they are to be able to withdraw without issues.

I firmly suspect that more than 99% of gamblers either don't know what a house edge is or don't care about it if they do.
2413  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★ Crypto-Games.net ★ LARGEST wagering contest - up to 46.000$ in prizes* on: August 29, 2018, 07:41:38 PM

What's the point of quoting above post without replying anything? Bumping the case? If so, are you alt of Intensity or you are just trying to bump a baseless accusation against CG?

It's worse than a baseless accusation. They admitted to multi-accounting abuse which they knew wasn't allowed when they clicked the checkbox that clearly stated the policy when they signup the fraudulent accounts.

Has Cloudflare had an effect on DDOS attacks at all? I'm guessing there's been a few attempts since it was introduced, but we haven't noticed. I haven't used cloudflare, but I assume they let you know if there is an unusual amount of traffic happening?

I'm still finding the site a little sluggish, but not running into any errors or anything.

The main effect it has is that it can be adjusted to deal with an attack a lot easier than if you have your own custom system. It just saves a lot of work.

To tell the truth I didn't fully understand how exactly you excluded bots from the lottery
I think the lottery is doing really good this week, tickets down to a projected 310 million last time I calculated it. The botters haven't given up as you will see from the new signups on our stats page. But I can say that the vast majority of them are getting 0 Satoshi from us  Wink
since you can't tell us the method you use to weed out those bots,
do you show up notification on accounts affected by that?
how do we know that we, non-bot, are not accidentally excluded from the lottery eligible list
or I just need to check if my userid listed in a file for lottery drawing on twitter?

All new accounts are excluded from buying lottery tickets until they reach 25 free rolls. Other than that everyone can play.
The bot detection system just bans accounts from free rolls. If I then look at the banned accounts list and find a botnet I just delete the accounts.

I'd love to tell you what we're doing but the botters read this so I won't. A couple of very well informed people contacted me with a lot of insight. I passed that on to wetsuit, along with some ideas of how to use that information and then we come up with some measures to detect them. He does all the really hard work of programming it all up.

(unless it's definite that you won't)?

It's that one. It was a general enquiry not a critical support issue so it will not get answered through the support email system. Less important issues we deal with through this forum.

Oh and yes please always set the telephone number to recover your 2FA. Also, please set the profile withdrawal address to one you can sign a message from as that is what we need to reset it otherwise.
2418  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Contest with $30,000 in GUARANTEED PRIZES now live! on: August 28, 2018, 04:13:31 PM
Thanks. FYI I asked this question through the contact form, as a test to see if I'd get a reply (I didn't). Not too worried about it but if it was a bigger issue, like needing to reset 2FA or a withdrawal problem, how responsive are they? Anyone have experience with this?

We get thousands of support emails a day. We do read all of them but only the important issues will get a reply.

What about reviewing the merit system!
I am sure many members don't like the actual merit system because they don't receive any merits despite the effort they make when writing helpful posts.

The Merit system is the only positive improvement to the forum in years. We're looking for ways to go further in that direction and curb spam and shitposting, not reviewing the thing that actually helped a little.

blocked, so in theory you would only be left with genuine old accounts. They can then just add a prompt on the old lottery

for new users to block them from using it. {If they try to buy tickets and they are not within a specific range, then the system

just displays a message, telling them that they should buy lottery tickets from Lottery X, with a short explanation.}  Cool

We've already stopped new users from buying lottery tickets until they have completed 25 free plays. That's more than long enough for the system I came up with to find a very high percentage of the bots. I'm working with wetsuit on ways to stop the rest.

All Casinos have special areas for VIP users.  Grin

All the best bits of freebitco.in are for players that deposit and gamble their own money.
