dumping Lisk for this reason means buying ETH at almost twice the price it was when The DAO opened, and then paying x1.5 the price for DAO Tokens. that's a very expensive investment. only those who went all in with Lisk would need to dump. everyone else has the available funds to invest across ICOs at best value. i don't think too many people went all in. dumping for this reason will be a marginal behaviour. Good point! I will actually be going Short ETH at about the time. The DAO crowdfund has removed a lot of ETH from circulation which is price positive for ETH short term. Once that is over, the short term supply removal will be over and the reverse supply dynamics will be in effect (ETH in DAO will be invested and spent by the receivers putting downward pressure on ETH.) On top of that ETH has high inflation so at a $1.2-1.5 Billion valuation, the constant new demand ETH requires just to offset mining is even more than BTC needs to sustain it's price after the halving. Meanwhile LISK has lower inflation and has already raised the cash in BTC that it will be using to fund LISK development for the following year so the spending of that that won't have a LISK price suppressive effect but will constantly raise it's value as more things are developed. c-cex has confirmed on launch, but im more interested in the exchange that has the NDA over max on listing , who's THAT gonna be?  To be honest, I think it's Bittrex. Poloniex is cautious with adding even white-hot new coins. unless max and oliver are secretly letting polo view the source before launch I doubt polo will list it right away as they confirm code before listing. Bittrex will most likely ninja announce/launch lisk first day. |

But seriously: those clones won't affect Lisk because the crypto space is slowly maturing. (Okay, becoming less immature.) Big-money folks tend to pick quality over the also-rans. In crypto land, the "moat" is the network effect. if a crypto's NE is stable, it's all-but unkillable. Cf. Litecoin, Dogecoin. Even if Ethereum becomes the go-to blockchain-application cryptocurrency, there's still the 85-15 rule. Back in tha day, this rule played out in personal computers. Most folks used Windoze, but Apple's fanbois were as hardcore then as now. A lot of them wouldn't use a PC even if they got it free: they were the minority in the desktop world, but they were strong & fanatical. And look at what that fan base has done for Apple! Once they clicked with iPod & smartphones... If LSK "merely" becomes the Apple of blockchain applications, it'll be one helluva world-shaker. And it does have a real shot at that, given the enthusiasm of all the Liskbois here. exactly, you don't have to win first. wow, i just learned that Wings won't use Lisk as platform but instead ETH and rootstock. i am surprised as Boris is a advisor of Lisk.
I know right? Wings.ai said that they have talked with max about some sort of thing but no details. I would have thought for sure they would launch a project with lisk in mind. |

I disagree that Lisk will need to take time to rise. ETH did most of the work for us by creating a viable bitcoin replacement. I think it is pretty clear Eth will surpass BTC this year.
Not saying Lisk will peak out of the gate but its gonna move fast.

yes but not today. No highly reputable exchange as announced their addition of Lisk. We are waiting for them to make the announcement probably after the launch. Take a look a http://poloniex.comsignup there and use them once they add Lisk. poloniex is highly trusted right now in the crypto world. |

I have watched this board and have seen the crazy high projections that many have put forth but I have always thought that Lisk should be valued somewhere between 10-30% of ETH. Last week that meant around 60 cents to $1.80 per lisk, but this week it is double that. I guess we will all soon see.
It took ETH 8 months. Its 1st wave took it to a 90M cap. why do you expect that Lisk will NOT take time. Dreaming of a 300M-500M cap in week one is an illusion. Lisk is a whole new animal.
