If many bad cards are dealt in the first hands, you're mathematically more likely to get good ones in the rest of the shoe even if 5 decks are remaining. Into 8 decks, there are 8 x 4 x 5 = 160 so called "bad" cards for the players. In 4 decks, that is to say 4 x 52 = 208 cards, most of them can be dealt, if the shoe is good.
