24021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Satoshi expect Bitcoin to last this long? on: April 15, 2015, 08:11:04 AM
It must have been "Pot" or "crack" ..... Drinking makes you dumb and clueless.  Wink

Seriously... This is not a person, who did something on a whim... This is carefully thought out... Read the whitepaper again... it's specific, and it makes room for future developments. {Processing power increase.. deflationary features... etc.}

Nope... He knew what he was doing and he executed it with perfection.  Grin

Yes I second your post. This was not a child's game. He has planned every step of it. He might be having a vision even more than what we all are thinking right now.
24022  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where can I sell a large portion of my Bitcoins at once? on: April 15, 2015, 08:09:07 AM
Ok, here's where I'm at. I bought some bitcoins 3 years ago. I wasn't even aware of the account until I was deleting stuff out of my old computer that I happened to log in and was shocked at the value it had amassed. Over the past year i've been selling them here and there. There problem is, I keep having to go down on the price on almost a daily basis. In other words, IM LOSING MONEY. I've lost 2/3 of their value in the past year. Do any of you guys know of someone willing/able to purchase my remaining 1165 bitcoins. I'm not looking to sell them one at a time anymore. I'm willing to sell them at a discounted price if I can find a buyer to buy them all.

* Before you guys berate me, i'm not a Bitcoin fanatic like most of you guys are. I don't really know where to turn. That's why i'm asking you guys for advice.

This is really fortune you found out. Lucky guy. I could have bought all from you but don't have that much money Sad

But I will also suggest it's very risky to put all these in one exchange and sell it. You better divide and put these bitcoins in multiple exchanges.
24023  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maine cops pay Bitcoin ransom to end office hostage drama on: April 15, 2015, 07:09:48 AM
Normally, a police department in the United States would not consider paying a ransom. Typically this is not advised, but in the event of what happened recently in Maine, apparently, they felt they had no choice.

Indeed, it appears several police departments in Maine had to pay approximately $300 in ransom money to computer hackers so that they could get their police records back. This includes the computers within the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the computers at the Houlton Police Department.

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/04/13/us_police_ransomware/

They might have learned a hard lesson now. They should hire a professional hacker to find out loopholes in their system who can also fix them.
24024  Economy / Economics / Re: US Dollar collapse in 2015? (2) on: April 15, 2015, 06:02:19 AM
a nice reset is in order soon, backstopped by the IMF, or a never ending U-shaped recover...

Ya that's going to happen very soon. And not only for US, it is going to crash most of all the countries. Just cross your finger, don't want to witness another 2007.
24025  Economy / Economics / Re: My bank account's got robbed by European Commission. Over 700k is lost. on: April 15, 2015, 05:57:24 AM
What was the idea of Cyprus or Greece to stick with the Euro and not go back to its own currency?
Eventually it would happen, it's inevitable, so why they haven't done it 2 years ago and this way they could have saved the falling bank, print money, and go back into growth faster than ever, and even gain more trust by investors than the way it looks so bleak now?!

Why common sense and politicians never coincide?

What do you mean by 'Print Money'?
24026  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: April 15, 2015, 05:52:51 AM
I totally agree with the original poster. But there is one more important thing which is well said by the famous business tycoon Warren Buffett that as soon as possible try to create a second source of income. Now let's try to understand what this second source of income can be: it can be an investment in the form of property through which you can have a rental income, or it can be buying of shares of some good dividend paying company, etc. But the sooner you created this source the better would be for yourself.
Yeah that is my point in my thread. I said that there are 2 types of how you spend your savings. Your example that you have must second income is my second type how you spend . If you read the thread and understand you must invest or make a business so that your savings will be worth it and also you can have another income.

Ya, true. I might have missed that point. But could you please explain, what kind of new business we can start for second income other than the full time job, one is occupied with? Even I want to do something like this other than my full time job. Thanks.
24027  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is not a bubble on: April 15, 2015, 05:44:10 AM
people around the world are not adopting bitcoin because of those thing in general

1- security
2- regulation

those two thing must be addressed in order to rise the adoption of bitcoin

the secuirty can be done by the exchage(so it's not even a bitcoin fault)

the regulation is on the way on some countries, but need to be speeded up and should be easy for average people, not something like "i need to take note of every transactions" or other things too laborious

Now, the question is who will take the burden to regulate Bitcoin. That will hell of a responsiblity because it's known that Bitcoin has security concern. There are illegal trades happening all over the world and the payment is happening in Bitcoins.
24028  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: April 15, 2015, 05:41:50 AM
Is it better to save money in bank or invest it online, in real estate or maybe gold?

Investment is a kind of savings. If you are doing savings then you can not keep it in the cash form with you. You will have to invest it in Fixed deposit, Real state, gold or shares, etc.
Investment is a kind of savings I disagree with that because, investing have a risk that your money would be lost or earn a profits. Also investing take too much time than saving. Saving takes 3-5 years before you stop to save (it depends on your salary every month) but in investing takes 10-15 years depends on the contract and the company (you wouldn't assure that your money can earn or will be lost its) its 50%-50%. And f you invest you can earn more profits by using the compound interest it can earn more profit as years passes by than simple interest.

Not totally true. There are some investment tool available which has zero risk and will give you return in 3-5 years as well. That will totally depends upon the risk profile of the individual and his requirements.
24029  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: how much can you make weekly? on: April 15, 2015, 05:29:21 AM
when i was a newbie i used to work 2hr daily on faucet and earn 0.001btc daily
It seems to me those were 2 hours daily you wasted. Tongue

Wouldn't it have been better to use that time to find some form of (online?) work, and then buy the btc?

as i told i was newbie that time so i dont know where to get those....well still i dnt know ;p
Of course it is wasted time. He worked 2 hours to earn 22 cents.
That's quite a waste of time. Working minimum wage would earn you much more. Why spend 2 hours for 22 cents? It's not like you can buy anything for that. Maybe a piece of gum?
[/quote]

Yes that is correct. Working 2 hours to earn 22 cent doesn't make sense. We are literates not some 10 year boy selling lime soda to earn some descent pocket money.
24030  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: April 15, 2015, 05:25:48 AM
Why do you think gold will get rarer with time? It doesn't age, its production is pretty consistent through years (actually, slowly increasing). If you say that there are more people on the planet and thus less gold per capita, then you should take into consideration actual demand for it (meaning that even if it does become rarer, there maybe still less demand for it nevertheless)...

A significant portion of the gold produced is bought by central banks and institutions which do not intend to resell them. This gold is effectively removed from the market. Once gold production decreases (it eventually will, when existing gold mines run out of gold), there will be an imbalance in demand-supply. There will be demand for gold from jewellers and from people who don't trust central banks (and bitcoins.  Tongue)

To say that gold will become rarer since gold mines will run out of gold one day seems to me wishful thinking of the same kind that bitcoin will hit 1 million dollar mark another day. It may indeed happen, but personally I wouldn't hope for that (meaning that such a possibility wouldn't in the least affect my economic decisions)...

Why did they not run out of gold some fifty years ago already?

Because there is still so much of Gold available to fulfill the world demand. And anyway the 50 years back Gold was not that much in demand. In the last 20 years, there was a steep demand.
24031  Economy / Economics / Re: I need bitcoin to be $690 to break even.....will I make it? on: April 15, 2015, 05:20:25 AM
Will I make it?
Eventually. Sit on your paper losses until then.
If you have some extra cash, buy now to bring the break even price down.

I do, but I also put in ~$25K into bitcoin in the last year, which is a lot already, should I really risk more.... bitcoin price recovering is still uncertain

My advice is to you, not to put too much of your hard earned money in Bitcoin, if you will be in urgent need of your return after some time. Bcoz one should take only as much risk as he/she can digest.
24032  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Money or Currency on: April 15, 2015, 04:30:50 AM
mon·ey (noun)

- a current medium of exchange in the form of coins and banknotes; coins and banknotes collectively.
---

cur·ren·cy read as ˈkərənsē (noun)

-a system of money in general use in a particular country.

So, is bitcoin money or currency?

By definition "a type of digital currency in which encryption techniques are used to regulate the generation of units of currency and verify the transfer of funds, operating independently of a central bank."

So one can say Bitcoin can be called a currency for the virtual world but it can not be called Money because in the physical world it has no value.
24033  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate? on: April 15, 2015, 03:44:33 AM
You can waste your time and energy hating others if you want.

I'm too busy with my own life to hate anyone really.

Haters gonna hate.

You are so right.

Healthiest thing is to let it go and move on.

forget and forgive is the best policy not only for others but also for yourself. You will not keep any grudge against anyone and will be more happy doing other things.
24034  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Turkish Muslims now permitted to use toilet paper on: April 15, 2015, 03:42:18 AM
In my views, using toilet paper or water or three stone (as someone has posted it) it mainly comes from the kind of culture and history of the country. I don't think it is actually deriving from religion.
24035  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should police be required to have liability insurance? on: April 15, 2015, 03:36:41 AM
They do. Police are bonded, which is a type of insurance. It's called a Surety Bond.

https://www.suretybonds.com/officers-law.html

Smiley

Oh really...that's new for me. This should be there for all the countries and should also include Army as well. What do you say people?

It's news for most people. If folks in America, Canada and the U.K. knew that their government officials were bonded, and that they should sue the bond for damages, they would get their damages and the offending official would lose his job... because nobody would bond him any longer.

Smiley

EDIT: There's a right way and a wrong way to go about this. Take the time to study Karl Lentz to see the right way.

Thanks a lot Badeckr for your insights about the topic. It's pretty interesting to read such stuffs.
24036  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Beware of third wave feminism. on: April 15, 2015, 03:34:35 AM
How is the biology is affecting it?
Anyway, the answer to all the Women from Men against Feminism should be equality where no gender is above the other gender.

There are differences in brain functions, that's why males and females show very different performance in certain tasks. Women are also used to be smaller and weaker than males so a man are more suitable for tasks where strength is important.  That's all biology.

Yes you are right. It's clearly documented and proved by scientific studies, girls are better in doing multi tasking and they are much more emotionally strong than men. Men tend to keep everything in their heart and that causes more heart attacks in men than women Smiley
24037  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Hillary Clinton to Announce 2016 Run for President on Sunday on: April 15, 2015, 03:31:05 AM
She has good chances of winning the coming elections. What do you say people?

She is almost certain to win the elections in 2016. The demography has changed radically. There is a steep growth in the number of Mexican voters, and a moderate growth in the number of the black voters. Both these sections will vote overwhelmingly for her.

Yes even I have the same views as yours. The steep growth in Mexican voters will really make a difference but that is not the only factor which will be attributed to her winning, if she wins at all.
24038  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS impregnates 9-year-old girl on: April 15, 2015, 03:28:49 AM
And let me guess. Anyone who disagrees should be killed in the name of God.
Dude, I don't know where you live, but in the civilized societies we put people in jail. And the presence of the holly ghost has not been convincingly proven.

I sincerely hope we are headed toward war crimes tribunals for ISIS.

If at all they are brought to justice, they will be killed in combat. Justice will be swift.
Osama didn't go to trial in a tribunal.
Trial is nothing but bureacratic waste of time, we all know their deserved sentence. They can choose between quick death on the battle field, or slower death on the electric chair.

However, I'd like to add some less civilized options... Such as butt rape, combined with endless and midieval-style torture.

If we also torture them the way they are torturing others then what will be the difference between us and them. Let's not become one of them to punish them.

24040  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Cop "accidently" shoots and kills man. on: April 15, 2015, 02:52:06 AM
A interesting/sad twist possibly is showing up now. Read the article on CNN- http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/13/us/tulsa-shooting-robert-bates-volunteer-deputy/

It sounds like he possibly bought his way into being a cop by donating.   No matter what a sad story indeed.

It's indeed s sad story. Government and the department should do something about it so that incident like these should not repeat in future.
