Still waiting.

We all are still waiting for a real proof. Just go to the edge of this flat planet and show us. How has no one ever seen the edges of the earth? No proof at this moment, how is that posible? It's the easiest way to prove your theory, are you so stupid that it has not even occurred to you?

Your ignorance knows no limits and you are proud of it. Im very sorry about you

Need to see an edge? Just look up Antarctic ice wall on Google images and Bob's your uncle. We're covered by a steel dome if you're wondering what's past the "edge".

Are you really that dumb, Guido the globo? Do a simple basic research(only two brain cells involved is needed for that)

Wow! Look at how un-level that water is with all those little wavelets.    Cool

Just because YOU say there wouldn't be any evil around if God existed, doesn't necessarily make it so, right? Got any proof for that idea?

As for my words being false, if they were false, you could rebut them easily. All you do is say that you rebut them. Any rebuttal you have given, I have rebutted easily.

Looks like it is you who are the false one here.

Btw, can I have a ride on your space ship? You know, the one you used to examine all the corners of the universe to make sure God wasn't out there somewhere.

Cool

So, are you saying your god, if real, would be a narcissistic asshole who would allow children to suffer?

Regarding your proof, you still have not answered when someone else has used your links as proof of your god. Can you do that now?

Looks like you are the false one here.

BTW, I do not own a spaceship, I am happy here on earth without a god. I think you are showing your delusions again. Your Psychiatrist might be able to help you with that.

Tsk, tsk. Talking about God like that will get you a place in Hell if you don't do penance.   Cheesy

Well, I someone else used my links as proof of God, I would agree with him. My answer would be congratulations.

Okay, maybe it's not a religion for you. Maybe it's simply a mental disorder.

Cool

Are you fucking kidding me?  Are you going to bring the Mass Murder card?  I ask you how many people had to die to convert nations on ALL continents to Christianity.  In North America, Christians slaughtered the natives, almost wipe them out completely.  What did the Spaniards do in South and Central America?  Drink wine and dance? What did your buddy Pope, Mussolini and Hitler do?  Go to church on Sunday, that is it?

Mass Murder?  Please stop this shit.  You have never been to been to Baptist Christian churches.  Checkout Westboro...More guys like them and you would have a mayhem in the US.
Mass murder?  These guys just cannot wait....

Your Bible has many examples of mass murder and genocides.

My dad used to tell me that the symptoms of tiredness and laziness were very similar.

The point? If someone says, "I'm a Chriatian," it's very difficult to tell if he is one, simply by listening to his words, if you haven't seen him in action.

Jesus said, "By their fruits you will know them."

A person isn't a Christian if he doesn't follow the ideals and directives of the New Testament. He can shout from the rooftops day and night that he is a Christian. But if he doesn't follow the directives of the N.T., he really isn't one.

Cool

By your definition, there are no Christians then....or they are all locked up.

I hope nobody is following the New Testament:

Matthew 5:29 - plucking out eyes
Matthew 5:30 - cutting off hands
Matthew 10:34 - waging wars by a sword
Corinthians 14:34-35 - women should be quiet and obey
Mark 10:11-12 - only marry once otherwise you commit adultery and you should be killed
Luke 19:26-2 - genocide
Romans 1:20-32 - killing sinners
Revelation 2:5 - more killing
Revelation 2:23 - killing children
Psalm 137:9 - killing babies

As usual, taking it all out of context.    Cool

As usual, ignoring the reality of what is written.

Actually, acknowledging the reality of what is written while you ignore reality.

Thanks, but no thanks
I think that this picture that you found somewhere on the internet is nothing but a picture. It could be easily made by some people who do not support religion, or it could be made by some people that are stupid enough to believe in such things. Either way, its not something that is worth losing your belief. But we live in world of free will, so people will believe in all kind of things so ...

Do you believe God created Earth 6000-7000 years ago like the Bible says?  Yes or no?

Do you believe God created man from dirt like the Bible says?  Yes or no?

Do you believe God created woman from a rib bone like the Bible says?  Yes or no?

Do you believe you believe a global flood happened 4000 years ago (killing everything that was not on the Noah's ark) like the Bible says?  Yes or no?

Do you believe we should kill gays like the Bible says?  Yes or no?

Do you believe we should kill people who work on Sabbath like the Bible says?  Yes or no?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you might a Christian (and are slightly retarded).

The important point in the, above, questions is the part that says, "like the Bible says."

When you look at all the scientific reasons why many people think that we live on a young earth, and that billions of years  is complete nonsense, you will find that the Bible is way more accurate than standard science suggests.

The Bible doesn't say that God created man from dirt. Read what it says.

The Bible doesn't say that God created woman from a rib bone. However, it is way easier creating a woman from a rib bone than it is to form some dust of the ground into a man, and then breathe the breath of life into him.

The Bible doesn't say that a global flood happened 4000 years ago. If you want to see the approximate time the Bible says for it, look here: http://www.albatrus.org/english/theology/creation/biblical_age_earth.htm.

The Bible doesn't say we should kill gays. Did you see your name or the name of anyone else in there with the instruction for him/her to do this?

The Bible doesn't say we should kill people who work on the Sabbath. Or DID you find your name in there with that instruction?

Since the questions are essentially invalid questions, if you answered yes to any of those question, you might be a Jew or a Christian. You really need to go back and check out what the Bible says, thoroughly, like af_newbie obviously didn't.

Cool

I have not met one Jew who thinks that Earth was created 6000-7000 years ago or that the flood happened 4000-5000 years ago.  Only slightly retarded Christians believe in this shit.
Maybe some Orthodox lunatics do as well, not sure.   - Well, most Jews don't believe that Jesus was the Messiah, either. But they are way ahead of you. You barely have figured out that you aren't really an atheist.

In any case, it is nuts to believe in any of this shit.   - Since God guided the writing of those things you call shit, it would be extremely unwise to NOT believe it.

BTW, Bible says all of the above things.  If you think it doesn't you don't know your Bible. - You are unordinarily dense today.

Genesis 2:7
7 Then the Lord God formed a man[c] from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. - Well, at least you could have found some words about God creating man if that's what you were trying to show us.

Genesis 2:21, 2:22
21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs[g] and then closed up the place with flesh.
22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib[h] he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. - Well, at least you could have found some words about God creating woman from a rib if that's what you were trying to show us.

Leviticus 20:13
13 If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. - Well, at least you could have found the place where my name or yours is listed, if you were trying to show that this directive was for you or me.

Exodus 31:15
15 For six days work is to be done, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day is to be put to death. - Well, at least you could have found the place where my name or yours is listed, if you were trying to show that this directive was for you or me.

Is the above clear to you BADecker?  Or you need to text your God to check the meaning of the above verses?

Oh for the sake of clarity. The world for clarity.

Cool

So going by your BADlogic,

How do you know the rest of the Bible is for you? Your name is not in the Bible, why do you even read it?
It has not been addressed to you, why bother?

You are starting to catch my drift. Find out who the directives in the Bible are for before you start saying that it directs anybody to do anything.

Cool

Great, we agree.  Bible was written by the Bronze Age people FOR THE BRONZE AGE people.

It is irrelevant today.  Never mind the discussion of imaginary beings...influencing your life...etc.  Just go see the psychiatrist.
He might be able to help you with your imaginary friend obsession.

Great. We agree. The parts of the Bible that were written for the ancient Hebrew people, were written for them. And the parts that were written for us, were written for us.

Just go see the psychiatrist. He might be able to help you find a friend.

How can Atheism be a religion when a religion is belief in a deity? Atheism has no deities, holy books or sacraments. I'm an atheist and I don't have any beliefs. You need to prove to me without a doubt that something is real for me to believe understand it. Otherwise its just made up stories.

I also do not hate on anyone. From my experiences the only people that have that emotion are religious people.

Not all religions formally have belief in a deity. However, atheists do... have faith in a deity. They believe that they can judge that God doesn't exist anywhere, when they haven't examined everywhere to find out for sure. When they believe this way, they have made themselves into deities, at least in their own minds, even if they don't realize it.

Any atheist who doesn't understand that he is making himself a god by being an atheist, is simply one who is too ignorant to realize that God might be living on Jupiter or somewhere else in the universe. And that because the atheist only realizes that God might exist out there when someone tells him, it isn't until then that he isn't an atheist any longer.

Some atheists try to uphold the idea of atheism even after it has been shown to them that real atheism can't exist in a thinking person. Such people have a religion going for themselves in atheism.

Cool

Interesting how you know the thought's of an atheist yet you claim to be a theist.

Does this mean you know every single thought going on in my head?

Making yourself out to be something special there old boy!

The thoughts of an atheist are self evident if he expresses his atheism. When an atheist expresses his atheism, he says words to the effect that God doesn't exist. Yet, if he thinks about it, there are multitudes of places on earth and in outer space that he hasn't checked out to make sure that God isn't there, somewhere. This means that he realizes that God might exist.

Since every thinking person realizes that God might exist somewhere, there aren't any thinking atheists. If they say that they are atheists, they are liars, and/or they have  a religion going for themselves.

Regarding these things, it is easy to see what atheists are thinking... religion, liar, or both.

Cool

atheist

noun
a person who disbelieves or lacks belief in the existence of God or gods.

As you are a self confessing theist, you have no idea what I think.

Your words do not speak of my thoughts, so you are unable to comment on the thoughts of an atheist.

Sorry Puddleduck, once again you have fallen into your assumption life which makes you look like an asshole.

However, one of the things I know about you is that you are not an atheist. Why not? Because you know that God might exist somewhere that you have examined.

Knowing this, you are either a religious person, deep into the false religion of atheism, or you are a liar, or both.

Cool

No such thing as a god.

No need to look.

If there was a god, there would be no cancer, no pedophiles, no starving children.... etc etc etc.

Just because YOU say there wouldn't be any evil around if God existed, doesn't necessarily make it so, right? Got any proof for that idea?

Are you really that dumb, Guido the globo? Do a simple basic research(only two brain cells involved is needed for that)

Every "simple" basic research shows undeniable proofs that:
  • We live on a planet shaped as an oblate spheroid
  • Every other object in space is almost perfectly spherical in shape, except the smaller ones like asteroids, comets etc
  • Gravity exists beyond any doubt and who denies it is a hopeless idiot
  • Flat earthers are a bunch of trolls or retards, probably retarded trolls

The photo below shows exactly the shape of our planet, end of the story.

Come on, man. They will throw that one right back at you by telling you that, like the photo, the earth is flat. You gotta be more careful.

I've read many, many books, and the Bible, and Koran, are the most elegantly written.
Note: you sound exactly like Trump, a known liar/con-artist (you know its a lie when he says, "believe me")

I haven't read the Quran myself, but I hear it is elegant when read in Arabic (but many become atheist after reading it in English, they say it's ugly)

The bible on the other hand, not so much... It's not poetic, it has pages full of laws, genealogies, etc., not elegant (though most of the laws are quite amusing... can't wear clothing made of 2 different fabrics, or eat meat and cheese in the same meal... wtf?)

The bible is full of atrocious behavior (as noted above), which you apparently don't mind...

I agree that 2000+ years ago, times were different... but the point is... to an eternal god, it should not change... a god with no beginning or end, who knows all of space-time, would not be such a prick in the old testament (angry, jealous, vengeful, spiteful), and a nice guy in the new testament... eternity doesn't work like that, it's a blatant contradiction

Multiple people have provided passages contradicting your claim that the bible is elegantly written...

Do you have any passages to support your claim, or are we supposed to believe you without any facts or evidence to back up your claim?
What claims have I made? Ive stated that I think the Bible is the bees knees, as far as writing goes. Ive also stated that I think Jesus was a badass speaker.
...
It would also contribute to my post count, which is most righteous for my bitcoin wallet.

So, where do we disagree?

So let's get to know each other, Moloch. Your move.

Did you just completely ignore my entire post?

Do you have any evidence to back up your claim that the bible is a elegantly written, "the bees knees as far as writing goes"?

It seems like you only care about your post count, and not having an actual discussion, which requires reading, answering questions, posting facts and evidence to back up a claim, etc

If you are talking about getting rid of all the evil on earth, that will happen for you when you die. Nobody talks about evil after they are dead.

The Bible simply explains about the New Heavens and the New Earth, and the permanent destruction of this one, so that all evil will be destroyed, and the good will remain in the new universe.

Latch onto the knowledge in the Bible so that you can live with the good rather than be destroyed with the evil.

....

I'm a 31 year old Christian of the Southern Baptist convention (I'm an evangelical). Read about half, me and the wife do a weekly Bible study intensively, but to her credit, she has finished the entire book. I myself find it fascinating, the depth of the symbolism is amazing, and speaks to an intelligence beyond my own. Allegories that persist in meaning even to this day! A marvelous piece of literature. And I like Stephen King, to give you a read on my preferred literature. Asimov too. And those Dresden books, delicious.

And I don't believe in organized religion. Now, that shit is pioson, if you do it wrong. It's why you think Christianity is wrong, LOL. You had a bad dish of it.

AMD whike you may have finished the Book (,I commend thus, I'm actively on my way), it's obvious to me you didn't understand it. You may want to embrace it a bit more yourself Wink

It is not easy to 'finish' the Bible when you have passages like these:

OLD TESTAMENT:

Kings 6:29 - cannibalism
Judges 11:29-40 - human sacrifice
Leviticus 25:44 - slavery
Deuteronomy 13:12-15 - genocide
Leviticus 10:6 - you will die if you rip your clothes
Leviticus 19:19 - breeding cattle is illegal
Leviticus 21 - some bat crazy rules for priests, do not fuck young boys should be somewhere there....
Leviticus 20:10 - killing of adulterers
Leviticus 20:13 - killing of gays
Leviticus 20:9 - killing children who dishonor mother or father
Leviticus 24:16 - stoning people if they say God's name
Deuteronomy 28:53 - more cannibalism
Genesis 19:8 - prostituting your virgin daughters
Leviticus 19:19 - not mixing two kinds of material for clothing :-)
Deuteronomy 22:20-21 - more stoning for not being a virgin
Exodus 31:14-15 - killing of people who work on Sabbath
Deuteronomy 25:11-12 - cutting off hands
Deuteronomy 23:1 - you'll not go to heaven if your testicles are damaged
Leviticus 19:27 - no haircuts of any kind
Leviticus 19:28 - no tattoos, or else
Leviticus 11:7-8 - eating pork is forbidden

NEW TESTAMENT (written thousands of years after the OLD testament):

Matthew 5:29 - plucking out eyes
Matthew 5:30 - cutting off hands
Matthew 10:34 - waging wars by a sword
Corinthians 14:34-35 - women should be quiet and obey
Mark 10:11-12 - only marry once otherwise check Leviticus 20:10 for remedy
Luke 19:26-2 - genocide
Romans 1:20-32 - killing sinners
Revelation 2:5 - more killing
Revelation 2:23 - killing children
Psalm 137:9 - killing babies

How can you believe it is a 'word of God' is beyond me.  It is a collection of stories, proverbs, legal punishments and recommendations on how and when to kill people.  If you enjoyed it, you are not well.  You might be a psychopath.  But then again you already knew that.

What in the world backward place do you live at? Go to any popular bookstore. Look on Amazon. People devour this kind of stuff.

When the Bible talks about it, the Bible is talking about ways to make things more bearable for people, and even righteous. Quit taking things out of context in the Bible.

Religion is nothing but a disciplinary way, it shows the way how you behave and how you maintain your Life. If you follow the instructions of any religion then you can lead a peaceful life. Discipline can bring your good health. So regular life is the way of making good health.
So there is a relationship between religion and good health.

If taken in moderation.  Too much of it, and you become paranoid, schizophrenic, serial or mass murderer.

Regardless, it is a very dangerous poison IMHO.  Just like alcohol or drugs, religious ideology can fuck up your thinking.

I agree. Too much religion has a negative impact on the mental, and over time and on the person's physical health.
For a person with an upset mentality, any fad or even faith can be fatal.
Only a sane person is able to think rationally and without harm to his
body and life. I believe that there is no place for fools in religion.

Everybody has faith just to live. All people have a form of faith that lets them have hope that the next moment will be at least as good as the last one. So, faith isn't a fatal thing in people like those you mention. Rather, in them it is a "fetal" thing. Hopefully they will grow into people sometime before they die.

I'm a God. I have an aquarium. Every day I feed it fish. I am sure that they think that God sends them food. This means for fish, I am God? Lol!
Hmm interesting idea, that is. Lets think about it for a second. You own aquarium and feed fish everyday, well that does not make you there god, but some entity that feeds them. God does not feed us with food, so from that perspective you are not God to you fishes. Second thing is, i think that fish do not have capacity to understand that you are feeding them, and there so they can not thing that you are there God. But it is an interesting idea after all Cheesy .

The point isn't the little gods that we are among the animals. The point is that, now that we understand that God exists, we should be excited beyond, beyond... and constantly be attempting to learn more about this wonderful Entity that feeds us.

Well if you want to know if the Earth is round or flat, the easiest way would be to attach a phone to a balloon and have it record all the way.  But lets say you don't want to believe your phone and the government controlled your phone and added fake footage.  The option for you would be to become an astronaut and go to space.  After escaping orbit, look at Earth.  Is it round or flat?

Well, if you became an astronaut like you said, and you looked down on the earth from orbit, it would look flat. Also, as you orbited around the planet, the cloud patterns and land patterns would drift by in front of you, changing as you moved.

And if you went far enough, the flat earth would gain a pattern of darkness across its surface, that would not move at the poles, but would move rather rapidly at the equator, until it enveloped the whole planet. Then it would withdraw itself to the opposite side of the flat earth, in reverse of the direction it had covered the earth.

Magically there would be new clouds and land masses that weren't there when the darkness had crossed the earth. And if you were in orbit for several months, you would be aware that the land masses were repeating themselves after coming out of darkness, to match the way that they looked a few months before.

Flat, with changing patterns.

Don't kill the Muslims. They are doing a good enough job of it themselves.

BTW, the term "peaceful Muslim" is entirely self-contradictory. They might think they are Muslims, but they aren't, since they don't follow the violence directives of the Koran.

Christianity is slowly overcoming Islam in Muslim lands.
