Its strangely quiet around here.  JJG took a day off  Shocked, Roach not enlightening us with rare never before seen knowledge about metals, centralization designs, and pyramids.

Can you imagine that JJG is an alter ego of our poor scrochie? This could be a real conspiracy theory.

I have to admit, I would be impressed if that turned out to be the case, mainly because pulling off the JJG persona as an artifice would be serious art.

If the journalists are told to leave Hong Kong....

The challenge for the CCP is everyone is a journalist nowadays...

That is an illusion.  There are a finite number of fiber optic trunklines and uplink radios out of the island.  Nobody does HF radio any more, so no, civilians have the illusion of being connected when all they are connected to is a centralized system.

Good point.  Just shut down the cell towers.

And it's not like you have to go around to each one.  There is a facility for each provider called the NOC; Network Operations Center.

The crackdown will not be televised.

Not that anyone here necessarily needs to read this article but you have friends and relatives that do, and it's a fun bullish as hell read...

The answering is to stop thinking about bitcoin as a currency and start thinking about it as a technology

It is possible that Hong Kong will be the spark that tips over the Chinese Communist Party. Especially if the protests spread to Taiwan and Macau.

While that would be nice I fear it is wishful thinking in this case.

The game “Monopoly” sold for $2 in 1935. In the box, you get monopoly money.

That original stack of monopoly money from 1935 is worth $50 as a collectors item.

Monopoly money literally holds more value than your fiat currency.

Oh god...that is rich

Sorry to interrupt, but can someone please let me know if I should be panicking at this point, because, TBH, I'm seriously, SERIOUSLY thinking of just tuning out anything Bitcoin related until after the halvening and just focus on IRL stuff for a while.

Think I'm finally finding a good IRL routine that is keeping me somewhat entertained and productive. Starting to really get the hang of this retirement thing.

Watching Bitcoin tank like it is, just makes me sad. I don't need it until 2021-ish anyway...

Bah. Someone hold me. No homo.

there there Bob, there there

Well, if he reversed the tax cuts under Trump and the Corporations and did the above. It would likely be a 'wash' and maybe a net gain, in that those individual folk would

probably blow that money. If that is how the economy is gonna work from now on, printing money to give it to the very rich or the common folk, I'd give it to the common

folk to spend it vs the very rich. Not sure anything for fiscal policy makes any sense in either direction.

Good point.

It is not as if they haven't been dumping helicopter money for years, it's just that it all goes to their fat cat buddies.  Where did the '08 trillion go?

You gotta zoom out a bit, Roach.

Yeah, maybe some of your old-school PMs are doing relatively well in the short-term; however, if you come at the matter from a broader angle, those PMs have not faired too well, relative to bitcoin, and the future is likely to show a similar history in which, relatively speaking, bitcoin out performs them, by leaps and bounds.

So, yeah, revel while it lasts in some of your short-term pumpenings of various PMs including gold and silver.

Well, we almost made it 48 hours without another ignore...

I figured it out.

They don't go to your Coinbase Pro account but to your regular Coinbase account that nobody uses.

Also...uh...when did Coinbase relent and credit us with the BSVs ??   I have a sudden shitcoin bonanza...oh joy...(that is sarcasm for our non english first language folks)

Now I have to figure out how to get rid of these fucking things.
