The real madness will start once Bitstamp hits $1000. $1000 will seem cheap next week.

That will happen today i think. Possibly very soon.

Someone wants to cash out $3M on Stamp at exactly $1k. Any whale wants to exchange a few of his millions for a 3 thousand BTC?

I guess its fun when you request a $3M withdrawal on Stamp. I can imagine the face of your bank manager when that wire arrives, especially if you never had a balance greater than a few k's  Cheesy Cheesy

I'm sure there is a buyer but thanks to our banking system, they cant move $3million as quick and easy....

I did transfer of five figures and my bank asked me all kind of questions..... some even privacy related.

Base on my experience, if what you said happen, (million of dollars to an few k balance account), the bank will freeze your account.

2423  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-11-27 Zero Hedge Presenting The BitKillers: These Are The Richest Holders O on: November 28, 2013, 11:07:39 AM
Whats the point of this? Are they running out of things to write about bitcoin?

We all know an address doesnt mean a person and certainly it doesnt present a whole wallet's balance,

2428  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Volatility of BTC makes it hard for companies to accept it. on: November 26, 2013, 01:36:39 PM
Right, so please tell me if im missing something blatantly obvious.  But with the volatility of BTC being such that it changes on the hour, for vendors to start to accept it as a legitimate currency wouldnt their prices have to be dependent on current the exchange rate?

For example.

I want to buy a pair of trainers that typically cost $80 USD, back in July I could have purchased this with 1BTC.  So lets say today that same vendor has them marked at 1BTC or $80 USD, if I paid by BTC my trainers now cost over $800!

So with people wanting to accept BTC how do you envisage pricing so that it is realistic based on fiat (via a conversation based on current price)?

Unless im missing something, without a rate determined straight away I cant see how mass adoption can be viable?

Or what am I missing?

You realise that merchants dont take risk right? Using bitcoin as payment processing means exactly that..... "processing" They dont receive your bitcoins for god's sake. They receive dollars.

The one that take that risk is you..... just like you're holding bitcoins. Price can go up and down.
2429  Economy / Speculation / Re: Schiff is so jealous on: November 26, 2013, 10:07:01 AM
That reasoning means that nothing should ever go up in value...

Why would i buy 1 oz of gold when it was $400 b4?

Why would i sell 1 oz of gold when it was $2000 couple years ago?

Too damn confusing, i guess i will buy $1000 USD with my cash!

2430  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Anyone Buying Bitcoins? on: November 26, 2013, 10:03:07 AM
Edwar, sounds like you dumped your coins early and being left out.

Are you trying to look for comfort? I can pad your back for 1 BTC.

Well i can answer my own question now

HOLY SHIT FUCKING PANIC SELL

I couldn't sell my fucking bitcoins fast enough. I took a bit of a fucking loss.

Stupid fucking mt. gox does not have a stop loss, where I would have sold my coins before the $5.00 wall was broke.

That was intense selling those coins.

Well I gambled. I had my chance to sell above $5.2 all day today. And had my chance to sell at $5.1 just before the drop and my warning.

Now I have a fucking bit coin loss.

I knew better than to hold them, but held them like an idiot. Just look at my last posts when I said multiple times I was selling,

Its ok Edwar.... just dont be a bitter loser and go bearish due to this. We've got tons of this in here.

Its not an insult, you guys need to research about this reptile dude b4 even bother reading his post. He was a laughing stock. Then he admitted that he needed help and checked into rehab. None of that is an insult. I'm shocked seeing him back and the same old "i'm loaded, i'm dumping coins" BS.

If you check back to my posts last spring, they did indeed generate more angry responses. So I decided to back away from the forum until they would be better received. IMO this is what's happening just now - all of my threads are receiving spontaneous kudos from newcomers especially.

Good for you. Just stop with supernode and whales crap and you'll be fine.
2432  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 26, 2013, 09:56:23 AM
When people start arguing or insulting each other on here that's often an indicator that the market is stable enough for me to safely ignore it for a while and take my dog for a walk instead.

I truly hope him well.

It's hardly a compliment, is it?  I've read plenty of his posts, he's entitled to his own opinions and I've never seen him insult anyone like that either.

Anyway, now I'm wasting valuable dog walking time arguing with you too

True that he doesnt insult anyone on here, just their intelligence. But someone who is supposed to be over 40s took pics of himself with someone's Rolls Royce while wearing a funny suit and posted on the internet showing his wealth...... he doesnt respect himself enough to care being insulted or not.

Also the made up Supernode conference, losing thousands of BTC by hotel staff drama.....etc.

This is the internet, i dont feel offended but rather amusing with his BS.

some large buyings at bitstamp, but still pretty walled by that 1500 btc guy

as long as he remains sitting there, bitstamp won't follow gox

whales creating arb lol

You know, we kind of decided that $900 is the cap for now.

what is this? did you sneak out of rehab? Their medication didnt help you much huh?

You're delusional that you're a "whale" again? Next time when your boss tell you to clean his Lamborghini, atleast find a nice suit to take pics next to it.

Last time you checked in rehab after ppl laughed at you and your so called "bling". This time i think you should go to Tibet for mediation. No drugs can cure your soul.

Why do you need to post about this video?

Its just some goldbug thats speaking crap. I would talk crap about Google Android or Google Stock if significant of my investment is in Apple stocks too....

2436  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does anyone think the price is unsustainable? Only bears please and seriousness. on: November 26, 2013, 09:33:10 AM
If you read my first post correctly, I do not want to get into an argument with you bulls. I read every other post and know your or the bull side very well. I also said bears only, yet you come in and try and scare anyone from posting anything negative about the price and bitcoins.

I would just like to hear from the other side for once.

I personally do not think it is sustainable and want to hear from other like minded people to get some fresh ideas from the other side.

How can you stand on other side if you're actually like minded? I hope you're just some rare species because i do believe bears are not stupid.

I couldnt stand thro the garbage spew out by Peter after 10min of watching.

2439  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC diluted,possible scenario? on: November 26, 2013, 09:23:01 AM
You need to go to do SERIOUS research and then come back and start trading.

Thank you for letting me know how much smarter you are than me. your answer was really helpful. I am lucky you saw my post.
So I assume you don't think this will happen. If you write here, why can't you just explain why this ain't possible?

I dont see him being cruel to you. If you value yourself, then why dont you educate yourself? rather than having spoonfed all the time.

You cant just whip up 5 yrs of computation and call your altcoin the same.

Did you even think it throughly?

Lets assume ppl are as stupid as you said and think altcoin is just "the same" what makes them buying altcoins when another coins will come out later?
