Can someone explain to me how such a low volume of trades (compared to april of last year) can raise the price this high?
http://data.bitcoinity.org/#caaadafjaaYou have to measure volume in USD my friend, as the price is going up. Even in BTC terms, trading volume is historically high. You've just got to consider all the exchanges. I guess I didn't take into consideration the other exchanges. Thanks for those charts tho!

2k wall at 800. that whale is really trying to push up the price 900 or at 800, I'd assume you could lure people down with cheap coins the disappear in the rush on the way down

Other exchanges are not following gox price right now..seems that whale trades on gox only.

I sit here waiting for it to go to the moon, as of late though I've been trying to watch a crash occur(called for so often). I was playing indoor soccer the last time it corrected. I also just set the price alarms on my comp via bitcoinity and wake up to the alarms : D its better then no sleep

One person can move the market much more than 10%
Who? Satoshi? Last I thought was the "Satoshi" stash was around 1,070,000 Bitcoins. Loaded doesn't have 2-3 wallets ranging from 40,000 - 80,000 bitcoins. There wasn't just 200,000 coins shuffled for a few laughs. Estimated individuals holding more than 10,000 coins each is in the hundreds. Exchanges don't profit in both bitcoin and fiat and have no reason for either. A 10% market change right now would take ~2,500 coins but your right, Mr/Mrs/Ms Nakamoto must be the only person capable of such a feat. "Buy All The Bitcoins!" I just want the Satoshi handle to come back online in this forum and say "I told you so" and then disappear forever. Either that or move those 1,000,000 coins so everyone can stop and go "holy shit he is alive" and then let the frenzy begin. We will be at 10,000 by the end of the year. No one would be selling only buying. The founder lives! The mythical man exists. If Satoshi moves the coins, the price will (temporarily) take a dive. The market has (rightfully) not priced in a 100% possibility that Satoshi is still able to access his coins. The chance of him not being able to might be small, but even 1% of his holdings is 10k BTC, >8$M. This. Satoshi moves his coins, the price tanks.

Poor bears, the choo choo train is leaving the station and they were caught taking a dump, with their pants down.
Risto, did you finally bought back in? Can you give us the details for educational purposes?

i am also wondering, since GOX cannot withdraw money, then it can only mean everyone will buy on GOX and take bitcoin out if that is the case, GOX should be running out of bitcoin? ? anyone??? You should talk to Walsoraj, this is his particular 'fin de monde'.
