Its sad that there are people who do still considering on signing up with them and make out some immediate deposited despite of the reputation that they do have just because they had missed out on reading up
People are easily led astray by big promises and attractive promotions. 1xBit pays a lot of attention on acquiring new players and despite their awful reputation, they do it successfully. The majority of gamblers don't conduct any research. Their investigation begins if something bad happens to them. It's then that they want to know if other people have experienced the same.

What wonders me more is that we have too many people on this forum who don't mind advertising that scam casino in their signature space for a quick buck. They don't care where the money comes from as long as they get paid.
2442  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: April 27, 2023, 12:17:49 PM
@Pmalek, Fairly already decreased their withdrawal fee to 0.00025BTC in contrary to current 0.001BTC fee listed on the table.
Thanks for the info.

The table shows 0.0005 BTC for the withdrawal fees. The 0.001 BTC you mentioned is the minimum withdrawal amount.
Fairlay is actually one of the casinos where my dummy betting account no longer works. My guess is that they delete or ban players who have never played or had any activity on the casino. A password reset doesn't work either. It's like my account never existed.

Are you sure 0.00025 BTC is the correct fee for accounts of the lowest level? I am asking because your screenshot mentions 'VIP Reduction Level 0' (whatever that means). Could that be the withdrawal fee for an older account that has moved up in some internal ranking system?
2443  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 15% Discount on the Trezor Model T on: April 27, 2023, 12:08:17 PM
PS
I am still waiting for a single proof of someone getting censored by Trezor/Wasabi.
It's not Trezor or Wasabi that will/are doing the censoring. It's zkSNACKs based on the unpublic and private information they receive from their blockchain analysis friends. But since zkSNACKs is run by Wasaby, the two are basically the same thing. I think both RickDeckard and o_e_l_e_o posted parts of zkSNACKs' terms of service that tell you everything you need to know.

Just because some things aren't available on this forum or the internet, doesn't mean they aren't happening. You can't seriously think their cooperation with a blockchain surveillance firm is an April's Fools joke or that they share pictures of cats with each other and eat cake. The surveillance of all UTXOs is the agenda.
2444  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitvavo: is it safe? on: April 26, 2023, 01:52:14 PM
There must be a section of the forum in which traders discuss important events, affecting BTC's price. The government attacking DeFi (bearish), the banking crisis (extremely bullish), the federal government raising intrest rates (bullish).
I wouldn't pay too much attention to it. Future price speculation and how certain events can affect bitcoin are exactly that, speculation. I read that another big bank somewhere is crashing and that's the reason for the current BTC spike. The thing is, it's only worth something if you know this information before it happens. For example, if you had insider information that the bank's stock is crashing. Reading about it in the news hours later is often too late to profit from it if that is our goal. The ship has sailed.

I saw a youtube video of a guy using bisq. Can you tell me if he had to sign the transaction with a code generated by bisq, or with his seed phrase that he had to enter online? I had no time to double check. I swore that I would never type my seed phrase online, even if it is to sign a transaction. It will only be handwritten and confirmed on my ledger device.
Transactions are signed with individual private keys, not a seed. Don't confuse your Ledger seed with the one for your Bisq wallet. You are not supposed to import your Ledger seed into Bisq or anywhere else. You create a new wallet and generate a new seed on Bisq. That's the hot wallet where you need to deposit your funds to be able to trade. When you start an exchange, you must transfer the correct sum into a multi-sig address, which requires signatures from you and the opposite party if the deal was successful. All of that happens in the background, you just confirm everything is ok, so don't worry. RickDeckard again explained how it's done in writing, but watching the videos is even better.

Regarding the $25k that you mentioned, I wouldn't recommend you transferring all at once. As a new Bisq user, there will be trading limits on your account. You can't buy or sell for $25k as a beginner until your account ages.
2445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: April 26, 2023, 01:30:08 PM
Mostly, casinos will never care as to how much you had lose, as long as they’re making profits, that’s good for them.
Of course they won't. The world is a cold place and we feed off of each other. Your lose is someone else's profit. The casinos don't have to care. They are there to offer you a service. If you want to use that service to lose $1, fine. If you want to lose half a million, even better. Responsible players understand what they are doing, and will find ways to limit their online gambling exposure when needed. The casino must accept the set account limits, otherwise they are in breach of their license (if they have one and it's a reputable one) and probably their own T&C and Responsible Gambling practices.
2446  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: April 26, 2023, 01:22:28 PM
While checking some of the sites in the list I noticed that 777coin has been offline for several months now and is probably good enough to be removed from the table.
I remember seeing an error when I wanted to check it but I didn't pay attention to the date the original message was posted. After a second look, it seems it's been dead since July or August 2022. Lightlord has also not visited the forum since October. I would say they are 99% history, but just for the sake of that 1% and the fact that lightlord has had such episodes of disappearing and coming back, I will leave it in the table for the time being. If there is no update the next time I check, I will remove 777coin.

And I would like to ask if Punt is old enough to be added to the table...
They have been on Bitcointalk since August 2022, so yeah. I hope I will remember to take a look at them the next time I decide to add some new casinos.

I would like to switch to P2P, but that takes education. I am currently in 3 weeks of heavy studying/midterms for osteopathic medicine and there is no time until may 15th.
P2P as in face-to-face deals or using decentralized exchanges and services without middlemen?
RickDeckard mentioned Bisq because it's the most prominent Bitcoin DEX. It's not that difficult, considering that every single thing you need to know is explained with video and written tutorials. 1-2 hours of watching and reading their docs, and you will know everything there is to it. After that, you just need to get used to the slower way of trading instead of the 1-click button deals on CEXs.

A medical student won't have difficulties to understand how to work Bisq correctly. I am sure of it. Wink

Do you sell your paintings and other things you make?
...
I always rejoice and respect such people who create beauty. You are certainly talented; maybe you should try to organize some kind of online store in another place. Here, people also have goals to accumulate more Bitcoin. The idea of hodling is always supported. There are many places on the Internet where people love art; I think they will help you much more than here.
She does. I tried proposing the same thing when I first heard of her and saw her creations. But she seems inclined to only sell her handwork for Bitcoin. That's too bad as it adds plenty of limitations to a niche with already limited interest. There really should be no reason why she couldn't use a traditional marketplace, get paid in fiat, and then invest a part or all of it in bitcoin if her ultimate goal is to get BTC.

@5Ksana
Have you made any noteworthy sales since last commented in this thread in February?
2449  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin & Apple Pay on: April 25, 2023, 08:12:05 AM
What I found is that service: https://getspendl.com Does anyone have experience with that service?
The first time GetSpendl was mentioned in Bitcointalk was back in 2019.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5188100.0
The service actually has an account here, but the user hasn't been active since 2020 > Spendl

OmegaStarScream has mentioned this service several times as I can see from Ninjastic.Space. I don't think he used it though as his posts show no feedback or mention personal experience, but you can always ask him.
2450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: the beauty of multi sig wallet [help needed] on: April 25, 2023, 06:28:21 AM
You don't have to regret what you did, it happens to most newbies, but you must not force them to immediately switch to decentralized exchanges like Bisq, you can just slowly integrate them with decentralized exchanges and let them know what the advantages are, after sometime they will probably see the benefits and make the switch themselves when they have enough knowledge about things.
Someone's willingness to switch from a CEX to a DEX will greatly depend on the success they had with the former. Usually when something works all right, people will keep using it expecting the same or better results. OP's friends made profit on Binance. There is a great chance they will now view Binance as something positive that is worth using because of the returns. On the other hand, it's easier to change the mindset of someone who had a negative experience. OP can always try though.

I think the main reason newbies begin with Binance is reputation. You will not prefer to begin your journey with a peer-to-peer network, if you don't understand how that works; instead, you will pick the first exchange Google will return you, according to reviews.
Exactly. With marketing and advertising, you will come to learn about Binance and similar big names sooner or later. That's not going to happen with Bisq, Peach Bitcoin, AtomicDEX, etc. Keywords like "crypto exchange" are much more popular than "decentralized crypto exchange", so CEXs always have a head start.
2451  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 15% Discount on the Trezor Model T on: April 25, 2023, 05:52:18 AM
Or depending on which government provides them with the most money.
That too, but certainly with limitations. There will be those whose money they will gladly take and others who won't have a say in their decisions. For example, Chainanalysis is a US-based company. They will surely not sail against the wind or do anything that will put them on the radar of regulators and national agencies.
2452  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: April 24, 2023, 07:04:21 PM
BTW, you have provided the wrong price tracking link for FoggyStar casino. Their minimum withdrawal amount is 0.000001 BTC, which is equivalent to ~$0.03. But you have provided the price tracking link of 0.0005 BTC.
I forgot to change the code after editing the fees. It was probably 0.0005 BTC before they changed it to 0.000001 BTC. Thanks for checking!

With this new update, they would have a place in the Casinos that have the lowest withdrawal amounts list. But since players also have to count in the withdrawal fees, which are dynamic and depend on the current congestion level, I won't add them. The fees aren't as cheap on the BTC network as they were a few months ago.
2453  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: rollbit scam (255 USDT) on: April 24, 2023, 11:58:24 AM
Without an ADR, the accuser could only relies to the licensor if Rollbit didn't answer to that thread --same situation for OP of any other future cases. I might will ask the same question you asked here on that thread if they ever replied there again. Thank you for this.
I see it as a big flag not wanting to disclose such information. In that case, I can only recommend that players get in touch with the licensing institution directly and ask them what to do next. In Rollbit's case, they operate under a Gaming Curacao (GC) license.

The official website and contact form unsatisfied players can fill out is below:
http://www.gaming-curacao.com/#section-contact

Yeah, feel free to ask Rollbit Razer the same thing if you think it will help to find the name of the service.
2454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you want bitcoin to stay? on: April 24, 2023, 11:26:16 AM
It cannot be a currency, a method of payment, but at least it will be a commodity, an asset.
It can be a viable payment method, especially for international transfers. Don't forget that you can move any sums ($10 or $10 million) for only a few cents and relatively quickly. You don't get that with other mediums of transfer. Plus there is the speculative aspect we all know and love.
2455  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 15% Discount on the Trezor Model T on: April 24, 2023, 11:16:55 AM
The concept of "coin tainting" is already pretty abnormal but the fact that they are able to suspend any UTXO's under "sole discretion" and not provide any kind of details about it really shows how obscure and danger this way of acting is towards the whole system. I can't imagine no other good reason to build this system but only to have a free tool to censor any kind of UTXO's that an entity so desires, without the need to disclosure anything more.
zkSNACKs doesn't want to provide any additional details about it because I don't think they know the specifics themselves. Whatever blockchain analysis company they lay in bed with makes the decisions, and the coordinator doesn't care. The blockanalysis company won't disclose anything so as not to help anyone try to cheat their made up system of determining taint and having their UTXOs classified as not tainted. And I am sure they are going to tweak the rules as time goes by depending on who the biggest enemies are at the moment.
2456  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Show off your hardware wallet on: April 24, 2023, 10:46:02 AM
OP- what are your exact plans for this "project"...to just list recommended wallets?  Might be nice to have a section for wallets NOT recommended?
The idea was never to offer a list of recommended or non-recommended wallets. There are already such collections, like Ratimov's [BIG LIST] Hardware wallets (80+) or our regularly updated Croatian version, [VELIKA LISTA] Hardverski novčanici (80+). I was just interested in finding out what hardware wallets users of Bitcointalk use, why, and how they look.
2457  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: April 23, 2023, 04:36:18 PM
Update:

- I have updated the data in the table for all casinos.
- Several crypto casinos added support for new coins and tokens, and I added it to the OP.
- I have removed PlayBetr from the table because they have merged with Betcoin. PlayBetr's old domain now redirects to Betcoin.

As always, if you notice some mistakes, feel free to bring it to my attention.
2458  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How (un)safe is Ledger nano x? on: April 23, 2023, 03:59:36 PM
I get that Ledger is not responsible for mistakes of users. But there is always a learning curve.
I have an unboxed nano x device. It will take some experience and education not to fall into any traps, as is the case with any other form of online payment.
Not all traps are obvious. There seem to be some forum members who like to label the less tech savvy users stupid for not having experience with ledger.
See how your attitude changes a bit? Change it a bit more. It's completely fine to be a beginner and not be tech savvy and come and ask for help by saying I don't understand this or that, or can someone help me figure all this out. But that's not how you did it. Your approach was criticizing a service for something they are not responsible for, and claiming they somehow allowed this disastrous scam to drain millions of dollars from innocent users.

Ledger is guilty for a lot of bad and negative events that you may or may not know about, but this isn't one of those. So if you are ready to learn, you can do that here, and many will help you. If you want to throw around baseless accusations about something you don't know anything about, then don't be surprised if you get negative comments that you might not like.

This thread should have been about you having bought a Ledger and asking help how to use it.
I have heard about address poisoning scams, are they dangerous, are the funds/keys on my Ledger in jeopardy?
How do I properly protect myself, etc., etc.
2459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How often does bitcoin mempool get empty? on: April 23, 2023, 01:21:31 PM
While we are on the subject of mempool being empty, and considering my limited knowledge regarding Lightning Network, isn't this a great time to open lightning channels considering the fact that the fees are ~ 1sat/vB?
The fees have gone up already since OP created this thread. You are now looking at 3 to 4 sat/vByte for a next block confirmation, and I am sure it will get worse. There are over 25k of unconfirmed transactions now.
The LN makes sense if you are going to make multiple transactions back and forth with one party. And you still need the opening and closing on-chain transaction.
2460  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How (un)safe is Ledger nano x? on: April 23, 2023, 01:15:42 PM
I have purchased a Ledger device and the tutorial video seems simple.
However when I dug a little deeper, I found loads of videos of users who lost all of their coins to scammers on Ledger.
The gullible and and unaware are and will always be easy targets. It's got nothing to do with any product or service in particular, but the level of understanding of the people using them.

This video here is about a crypto millionaire who lost a significant amount of coins because of address poisoning, recently.
I haven't looked at the video and don't need to. The address poisoning scam is a trick you fall for due to the incorrect use of bitcoin and other crypto wallets. It's not a hack. It's a social engineering scheme that fools those who don't know better.

Apparently scammers can get a hold of the latest addresses you have sent funds to.
Bitcoin uses a public ledger. The same is true for the networks that were the primary targets of address poisoning schemes, like Tron, BSC, Ethereum, etc. All transaction history is public and anyone can see the transactions that got confirmed on the networks. That's not a mystery, it's the way public blockchains work.

They are able to poison your transfer history, which means that they copy the first 5 and the last 5 digits of the address you recently sent crypto to.
But they change everything in the middle and they make their own address this way. Their new address is listed in your transfer history, replacing your genuine history (How can Ledger let this happen??) So you copy paste the address, thinking you are transfering to your friend but you transfer directly to the scammer.
That's not true. It doesn't replace your history. The history is there and recorded on the blockchain. It adds a new entry which will logically land on the top. If I send you a PM, my PM will appear above the ones you received yesterday and last month, wouldn't it? It would be the most recent entry in your PM folder. But my PM doesn't replace the other ones. If you make a mistake and send me some sensitive information that were meant for someone else, that's your fault and nobody else's. When I post this message, it will be the newest post in your thread, but it doesn't replace the older posts.

The fact that this is possible, scares the hell out of me and really makes me question the capability of ledger as a company.
It should scare the hell out of you because you don't know how to send and receive crypto properly. You need to question your own capabilities of owning and holding bitcoin. Ledger gave you the proper tools, your lack of understanding and knowledge about how to use them is not their fault.

You can also receive spam in Ledger Live (app), which looks totally innocent. But if you click on it, your entire account is drained.
Bullshit. That's not how hardware wallets work. Hardware wallets require PHYSICAL CONFIRMATIONS for transactions. You create the transaction in the app, check the details, doublecheck the details on the hardware device, and physically approve the broadcast yourself. Wrong amounts, wrong fee rates, wrong addresses are the sender's fault.

Or contact you as being Ledger Live support when they are not.
So what? Scammers contact you for all sorts of reasons. They will tell you about the funds your great grandfather left you, Saddam's lost gold, foolproof investment opportunities, million-dollar lottery wins, etc. If you can't recognize that, you are just a ticking timebomb.
