2441  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: dYdX doesn't allow US customer to trade? on: September 30, 2021, 09:59:49 PM
Since they are not implementing KYC when not, just subscribe for a good VPN service and use the exchange seamlessly. Of course, you might have to be consistent with your IP addresses or even use residential IP addresses to avoid raising any red flags by the exchange.

They do have a part where they prohibit usage of VPN in their terms and conditions, but without KYC verification. I think that won't be a problem.
2442  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Finding and understanding fees on: September 30, 2021, 09:46:31 PM
I'm having some difficulty understanding kraken fees.

According to https://support.kraken.com/hc/en-us/articles/201893638-How-trading-fees-work-on-Kraken the fees are less than 1%. (Note that there is no mention on this page that these fees only apply to a particular account type.)
You are confusing the two.

There different fee rates for crypto to crypto trading spot pairs and crypto to fiat trading pairs

Kraken pro is for crypto to crypto trading pairs like ETH/BTC, BTC/USDT etc - https://www.kraken.com/features/fee-schedule/#kraken-pro

However when I did fiat -> BTC and BTC -> fiat I was charged 1.5% for each transaction.

This is instant buy which is crypto to fiat trading pair...obviously it's fees are higher - https://www.kraken.com/features/fee-schedule/#instant-buy

Can anyone confirm that if I upgrade to a pro account the fees will be the much lower (0.16%/0.26%)?
There is no need to upgrade an account. Kraken pro doesn't mean it's an upgraded account.
2443  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Experience with blockchain wallet (Balance stuck) on: September 30, 2021, 09:02:09 PM
If he can still log into the account, then he should be able to back up the wallet and import it into a software wallet like electrum using the 12 word phrase. If indeed he deposited the 2 BTC back in 2017 as he claims,  He will be able to view the balance and also be able to spend it.
2444  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Some people are still able to trade p2p on Binance using new unverified accounts on: September 30, 2021, 08:43:46 PM
It seems it's allowed if you are a P2P merchant base on what I read from their blog post below and it seems that you found that guy unverified under ads? you can disable the ads under settings to make our trade safe.

The accounts making trade orders were actually market takers and not market makers. So obviously they were not merchants.

That's what their website says:

https://talkimg.com/images/2023/05/14/blob85907d3508780e52.png
Source: https://www.binance.com/en/support/announcement/3c7b87a346e34063b40c60e5fd5558b2

So, it seems that you don't actually need to complete the traditional KYC to be a merchant, you just need to be "verified by the Binance P2P team" (whatever that means). The normal users do need to be KYC'ed.
Traditional KYC is not of the prerequisites. It's actually stricter for merchants because they need additional information.

2445  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Ongoing list of scams on: September 30, 2021, 08:30:24 PM
There is no bad situation with the Beldex project, They worked as well and they launch PoS next month. Definitely, the Beldex price will pump.
I wouldn't be surprised if you're just another shill account created to misinform people about the situation surrounding Beldex. Instead of addressing the scam accusation in detail, you are just claiming how the price will pump. I don't know what you are basing this on, but it's more reason for people not to believe what you are saying.
2446  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Linzhi.us.com Review For SCAM - Warning: SCAMMERS !! on: September 29, 2021, 09:59:23 PM
It seems there are a lot of linzhi.io copycat sites pretending to be selling miners. They (Linzhi.io) say that right now they have nothing to sell, no samples, no preorders
So obviously anyone claiming to sell the miners is a scammer,

Here's a pinned warning in their official telegram group

Quote
⚠️You will be added to groups / contacted by scammers who offer sample units. It's all fake. We currently have nothing to sell! We don't know when sales will open. We haven't decided the price yet. (depends on the then current market situation).
We do not take pre-orders. We can't say anything about a successor with more memory yet. There's no point in PM asking.

The situation is unsatisfying for us too. But we want to sell bug free machines, at a fair price. No preorders or promises..
We will announce all news here. No posts --> no news

⚠️ only real is:
linzhi.io
@LinzhiCorp
@LinzhiCorp_News

EVERYTHING ELSE is fake and you will get scammed.
Currently we have NOTHING to sell. No devices, no samples, no pre-orders

***** UPDATE *****

All funds have been recovered and the problem has been resolved.

This thread can be closed, thanks.
I am glad they help you out to recover the funds, something that's so rare with most exchanges if such a mistake is made.

You don't have to wait for the mods to lock it for you. You, too, can lock the thread by going to the bottom left part of the page and click on the lock topic button
2448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: September 28, 2021, 09:59:52 PM
This isn't happening!!
Do you people know what getting to pick Sheriff Tiraspol to win Real Madrid gets you for staking $100 on them...
$2100!! If you where an aggressive trader and can't wait for bitcoin to hit $100k this was instant profit in less than 90 minutes and not having to wait for a couple of years.
Except that there is a slight deference between trading Bitcoin and betting  Cheesy
Most people mistake the two and call both of the gambling...I dunno why?

To be honest, I am impressed by how FC Sheriff played tonight. The commentors kept talking about how they had not conceded for about 10 games or so and how they also had an unbeaten streak in Europe, and it got me thinking that Real Madrid could actually lose the game.

The defenders did a very good job blocking most crossed and shots from Real Madrid attackers
2449  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does Binance need kyc to do any trading? on: September 28, 2021, 09:47:54 PM
Of course, you need to first under KYC verifications before using their exchange. Do you think SEC and FIN CEN would allow Binance.us to operate without identifying all their users?Nop!
Just read through their terms of service - https://www.binance.us/en/terms-of-use
2450  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: South Korea greenlights just one crypto exchange, 60 face closure on: September 26, 2021, 09:59:01 PM
Everyone ever realized that these bullshit news of bans and warnings only come up whenever Crypto market is on a bull run?
Come bear market, all the so-called regulators go into hiding. This only means that most Governments are not happy about the ever-increasing adoption of cryptocurrencies. But regardless of the news about bans, I don't think there will be much effect on the market.
2451  Other / Meta / Re: My Account - LogitechMouse has been hacked and locked on: September 26, 2021, 09:44:34 PM
Hey @LogitechMouseAlt

I hope you are following up the instructions given to you by the accounts recovery team via the email address with which you used to contact them.

The good news is that your account is already queued for ownership change, which means they are probably waiting for further action from you.
2452  Other / Meta / Re: [overview] LoyceV's useful data on Bitcointalk on: September 26, 2021, 09:22:56 PM
Friendly bump and reminder  Wink

When one visits LOYCE.CLUB'S user page. On the lower part, there is no link to the Topic on Bitcointalk. No sure which topic you wanted to link there, so I ended up here.

Also, how far with the plans to design the home page? Please don't take too long, like admin and his "new" forum software.  Grin
2453  Economy / Exchanges / Re: instant exchange to avoid BTC 50k satoshi Binance sending fees on: September 26, 2021, 08:58:37 PM
just to be sure, is it added network fee in their calculator(fixedfloat.com)?
It's a business mate,  do you want them to cover even your transaction fees?

How sustainable would that business model be, even after giving very competitive exchange rates?

is it possible that they can provide btc network fee less than dollar?
Yep, if the mempool size is so low like it is usually in most weekends.

if not, how can i figure out how much it will be
Use mempool.space to know the optimal fees and current state of the Bitcoin network
2454  Economy / Marketplace / Re: I selling my BITCOINTALK ACCOUNT on: September 26, 2021, 08:53:10 PM
UPS, I actually did not know about that. I haven't been here lately that is why. I'll change the post now.
Unfortunately, trust once lost is hard to regain.

How sure are we that you didn't just hack that account and attempt to sell  it?

Account sales are highly discouraged here.

You quoted the wrong rule which prohibits selling other account types and invites

More details here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=134779.0

This is a rule about Bitcointalk account sale
18. Having multiple accounts and account sales are allowed, but account sales are discouraged.

2455  Economy / Gambling / Re: [CLOSED] ★BetBTC★ Sportsbook | Bitcoin Sports Betting | Since 2014 on: September 26, 2021, 08:12:03 PM
That would be unprofessional if they will change their mind after making a decision to close the business.
No, I think it's something perfectly normal. I have seen some services do this kind of thing before, and they are still running business well as usual after making a U-Turn. One of the services I know was purse.io who had initial decided to shut down their business but then reconsidered to continue operating after some time
2456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: September 26, 2021, 07:47:50 PM
This is something special for him because he is the lucky player to wear the number 10 at Barcelona despite his young age. He managed to score in this match and he is also the king of this match even though he only played in the last 10 minute. It looks like he deserves to use the number 10 in place of Leonel Messi and I'm sure he will be the next Barcelona star.
Hopefully, the injuries don't ruin his promising career. Most of the youngsters get messed up with injuries, especially the long term injuries like the one Ansu recovered from recently.

Considering they have one missing match, it's a possible two points difference with the leader Real Madrid.
A "possible" two point difference, but Barcelona haven't played the match yet, and we all know how unpredictable La Liga has been this season. Also, don't forget that the team they are supposed to play against is Seville.
2457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 25, 2021, 09:50:21 PM
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10025675/Man-City-owner-Sheikh-Mansour-gives-mandate-sign-Kylian-Mbappe-cost.html

We are getting really interesting news about the Kylian Mbappe transfer lately. As we all know, Real Madrid were the only team that were interested in signing Mbappe. However Manchester City are also interested in signing him as it seems. To be honest, it would be fine by me to see Mbappe at any of these teams. Let's see which side will be able to bring him. But Manchester City have been interested in Kane also. I assume that Kane could be their priority now.
Sign him for what now?

The contract is expiring in less than a year and the player has only shown interest to go to Real Madrid. Manchester city is also not serious. They should have given PSG bags of money last transfer window when they had the chance. Maybe PSG would have offered them the player as they seem to be very reluctant to break the deal with Real Madrid.
2458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: September 25, 2021, 08:42:25 PM
We have seen an interesting first half in the Real Madrid - Villarreal match. Villarreal had 64% ball possession and Real Madrid got zero shot on target out of 7 shots. It looks like my prediction is likely to happen that Real Madrid will win the match by one goal. I expect Real Madrid to show a greater performance in the second half. Villarreal can have a really tough time while resisting against them.
Well not quite yet, you have got ten minutes for Real Madrid to score so that your predication is fulfilled.

Villarreal's back line seems to be so compact as of now with Vinicius and Benzema not allowed to roam that much. I don't remember a match where Benzema was invisible in most parts of the game.
2459  Economy / Exchanges / Re: instant exchange to avoid BTC 50k satoshi Binance sending fees on: September 25, 2021, 07:42:12 PM
Changenow are very controversial are are known to block peoples funds. Just head over to the scam accusation board and see for yourself.

2460  Economy / Exchanges / Some people are still able to trade p2p on Binance using new unverified accounts on: September 24, 2021, 09:47:18 PM
I found this out recently while trading p2p on Binance. Some accounts were barely 20 days old, Non verified and were able to make buy orders. What is surprising is that at the time I wanted to use their P2P last year, one of the prerequisites was to have the account first undergo KYC verification

Quote
Before you can make your first transaction on Binance P2P, you must register on Binance and complete your Identity Verification process. Our P2P merchants undergo a screening process where we also verify their identity and business. By verifying all Binance P2P users, we are able to provide a layer of security for your transactions.

But that's not the case. In fact, most of such accounts are owned by scammers

Here is an example. The account is labeled as regular user and the KYC tick is grayed out, meaning it's not verified.

How is this possible?

Is Binance selectively enforcing KYC verification on some users just to play cat and mouse game with regulators?
