Welcome Communitycoin traders. Cryptsy now has a COMM/BTC market.

https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/198

I was going to suggest the next goal should be to try to get on Cryptsy. I guess that goal was achieved pretty easily... nice. It didn't even require tons of voting over weeks like some coins.

we need a bigger ex like mintpal... bittrex sucks hard...

Big exchange is good for dump.

A small-medium sized exchange, such as poloniex, would be good for the coin, I think. Miners do need a place to sell, and without volume, both miners + ipo people will end up piling orders on super small exchanges. Biitrex is fine to start with, but no coin just wants to live there too long.

Plus side for poloniex is that the dev can do a giveaway there too, if he wants. And do chatbox stuff. I also suggest cryptosandwich if he wants to do more twitter types of giveaways/promotion.
2443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) Fair & FREE Distribution | Pure PoS | BTER - MINTPAL on: April 24, 2014, 05:12:22 PM
Oh damnnn, the price is tanking so fast.......  Sad

Not really... just a combination of trolls making people a bit nervous, and some dumps. It's to be expected this early on. The coins will need to get redistributed a lot, for the coin to move up, so it's not surprising. If the coin ever gets to 1000+, I expect very few of the original stakeholders to even have their coins anymore.

That said, the dev should release a proper distribution list, just to give less ammunition to trolls. I expect their main goal is to lower the price (notice trolling occurs mostly after a pump?) ... to buy in, then wait for higher price, sell... and repeat process.

There will be those who didn't receive stakes or have sour grapes about selling early, and they'll join in with the fud too.

The best thing people can do is simply focus on what needs to be done next. More publicity, a marketplace, coinpayments, cryptsy, etc.
2444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) Fair & FREE Distribution | Pure PoS | BTER - MINTPAL on: April 24, 2014, 07:03:45 AM
There is always mistakes in big projects. Now if we just keep accusing the dev and he abandons than our coins are worth nothing.
No,the truth is dev sell all his coins and get 100+ btc now.

Your gus must be a great one for facing up to realities.

Posts like this should be expected for a while, as those who didn't get stakes, 2nd stakes, or just have sour grapes about selling at super cheap prices, will complain. It's human nature.

There isn't enough volume in the coin right now for the dev, or anyone, to dump tons of coins. Use common sense. And no sane dev would dump on the 2nd day as soon as a coin just starts on a major exchange.

2445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 【ANN】Entertain coin (ETC),step into the entertainment world! on: April 24, 2014, 02:59:56 AM

the idea of this coin is very cool, that guys say this coin is bad are really idiots !!!
              Do you agree with me?

No, not really.

I won't even speak of the merits, or lack thereof, for the coin. But that has to be one of the worst coin logos around. A coin geared towards entertainment, movies and films, and it has a bizarre cartoon dolphin who looks like it belongs in some bad anime?
2446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: April 24, 2014, 12:03:11 AM

I was aware of Maidsafe months before this and heard of them at about the same time as Ethereum.  It should be noted that Ethereum postponed there IPO in January because of community concerns and that this particular IPO happened so fast that it is reasonable to say that there was little to done to anticipate this amount of demand.  Ethereum is likely watching this very closely to see what worked and what didn't and as well a gauging point for demand.

This isn't something new that just happened; many have been waiting months for this.  For the record...since I don't want this to be any more about Ethereum...I like what Maidsafe is doing better and that is why I am here saying what I am.

If people don't put the effort out to do the research then I can't really defend the logic behind it.  That isn't intended to be derogatory...just a statement of fact.

Since they evidently have been around a while, I assume some people knew of them. I just find the amount that the IPO has taken in, at this speed, really somewhat odd.

Maybe a lot of their IPO money came from outsiders, which would explain things better. I just prefer more clarity (and time) before making investments. And yeah, I expect the Ethereum people are watching and drooling at the numbers...
2447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: April 23, 2014, 11:39:39 PM
So what are you all going to say when he runs away with your coins? This scam is so obvious. I'm guessing the actual investments are somewhere around 100 BTC, which will make it worth his while.
I'll say, "Forflaggern shorfuentifn...sdhuewiudjkn!!!"

Because that is what English sounds like in the alternate universe you seem to be proposing...Wink

DIrvine is stout...little effort to verify and Maidsafe is way more than a BC clone which is what WC is and seemingly the basis of your expertise.  Cheers!

I thought you were quoting the father in A Christmas Story there for a moment.

Anyway, although MaidSafe does appear real, and they have all the devs/employees listed upon their website, the way the IPO was carried out does seem very peculiar. A LOT of money was put into this IPO, with very little (like no) pre-announcement, little fanfare and very little in the way of buildup. It did feel almost like someone put up a random IPO post, and cash just flew their way.

Unlike something like Ethereum, which most here have heard of, I am not sure if many heard of MaidSafe before. When I first saw the thread title, I thought... oh no... a coin for hiring cleaning workers...

It'll be interesting to see where this goes.  I'm too poor and skeptical to invest, but I really hope it's not a scam, as it's not like we need more of those.

2449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) Fair & FREE Distribution | Pure PoS | BTER - MINTPAL on: April 23, 2014, 05:37:10 PM
We need to start trading COMM...use COMM as a coin and just not as speculation item.

For the brainstorming effort I´m suggesting a trading site... A site we we can sell things for COMM.

What kind of things? Anything really... could be something like Amazon or Ebay, but also could be something simpler, something to start the ball rolling.

A website where each of us could sell simple items, easy to send by mail, maybe something like our old used graphics card, or the handcrafted necklace our local artisan makes or stamps from our country, you name it!

We could sell COMM badges, T-shirts, etc.

Main thing? the only accepted coin is COMM.

Could this be integrated with The COMM website?

What do you think?...

Great idea!

We should also consider to let users offer digital goods for example steam keys.

A marketplace would be very useful. I think the first step would be to get accepted onto coinpayments.

After that, we can contact existing marketplaces and ask them to accept communitycoin. I believe the Noble coin dev said at some point he'll open up his marketplace to accept other cryptos besides Noble/BTC, so that can be a start.

Eventually a unique comm marketplace should be the goal. I sort of like what Noble has done, with amazon gift cards, steam cards, and now gold/silver. At the very least, gift cards would be useful, as to many people, amazon money is sort of like cashing out coin to fiat. They sell basically everything.
2450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) Fair & FREE Distribution | Pure PoS | BTER - MINTPAL on: April 23, 2014, 05:03:37 AM

I was always waiting till today I saw majormax -- the dev's communicator-- said that the dev told him there were only 10m coins left for distribution.  I can't understand.

Well, one way or another we'll find out what is left. 80M may make more sense than 10M does.

And their accepted/rejected lists are hardly optimal or accurate looking, so they need to release a finalized list at some point.

I don't have a problem with people asking for clarification. I am just annoyed by constant trolling, where those who post nonstop have ulterior motives.
2451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) Fair & FREE Distribution | Pure PoS | BTER - MINTPAL on: April 23, 2014, 04:52:09 AM

Bcs ppl are being ripped off and don't care, I do.  Yes at 150 SAT. No. No.

All questions answered.

Actually the thing is, the reason people don't care is that they are adults and have the patience to wait until the coins are distributed before complaining. They also don't post nonstop like a troll.

And saying you are posting nonstop due to altruistic reasons, caring about people... let's just say I believe the worst scammers in this forum over a statement like that.

2452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) Fair & FREE Distribution | Pure PoS | BTER - MINTPAL on: April 23, 2014, 04:49:03 AM

There likely will be no third round, read MajorMax's recent post and even if there were a 3rd round the Dev is now saying only 10 million coins remain for distribution.  You are all being robbed and as a Community you are either incredibly stupid not to see it or complicit with the act.

By third round, I am referring to the reconsideration thing on the first page.

If 10M, it does seem like it should be more, or more were given to the 2nd group.

I guess waiting until the reconsideration stage starts is too much to ask?

2453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) Fair & FREE Distribution | Pure PoS | BTER - MINTPAL on: April 23, 2014, 04:41:16 AM

If you are stupid enough to believe that and ignore all the valid points that have been posted than enjoy your happy, dumb trip through life.

If you don't provide a reason for your nonstop posting, people will assume logical reasons, such as wanting cheap coins.

Again, asked you why you have been posting, but you avoid the questions:

And I have a question for you. Why do you care so much that you post here nonstop about it? Did you sell early on? Didn't get a stake? Want to buy in cheaper?

Please don't tell me it's for some altruistic reason, as if so, you'd just post concerns a handful of times and wait for an answer, like a normal person.
2454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) Fair & FREE Distribution | Pure PoS | BTER - MINTPAL on: April 23, 2014, 04:37:18 AM

So there is a 2nd round list including about 283 names while among them many ppl didn't get their stakes,
Where did their stakes go?

I think 470 people were claimed for the 1st go-around?

470 + 283 = 753

What percentage of that 283 didn't get stakes? Or is that the list of who got 2nd stakes?

At 800M, 753M given out would seem about right, with a 3rd round still left to go.

The number 80m is on OP for weeks.   Many guys may see it.

Was it on one of the older threads? I can't find it listed.
2456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) Fair & FREE Distribution | Pure PoS | BTER - MINTPAL on: April 23, 2014, 04:03:12 AM

I tried waiting for an answer and never received one from the Dev, have you ever seen the Dev answer one single question directly put to him?  And what better way to steal coins than to hold a "distribution" but not actually distribute all the coins or list what was distributed?  Its a perfect crime, ppl who got free coins are happy and don't want to rock the boat and destroy value and ppl who didn't get stakes don't want to rock the boat so they might lose any chance of future stakes due to the Dev's threats.

But you want to keep this real real simple, you ask the Dev a question... where is interest coins that miramare mentioned in his post?, then you will see how transparent and willing to answer direct questions the Dev actually is.

Noone is suggesting the Dev is stupid enough to dump 100,000,000 coins all at once, in fact when you consider he was smart enough to fool 95% of ppl in this thread he is probably pretty damn smart.

I believe Majormax is the person who handles most forum stuff now, so maybe PM him?
Distribution is not even over, as has been mentioned many times. What did you expect, an answer right away, before the coins are all given out?

And since you are so keen on wanting immediate answers, maybe answer some of mine?

10 million coins is assuming the worst?  Try 100,000,000 or 200,000,000 or more, add in the coin interest that miramare mentioned and you are looking at serious cash for little work at all.  He allows "The Community" to do his work, even fix his f' ups like the 200 million missing wallet.  You also assume Dev is in a first world country where the type of money you talk about is nothing, in most of the world the money you talk about would be huge impact on one's quality of life.  This coin has a market cap of 1 million, if you create something worth 1 million in just 4 weeks, guess what... for 99% of the population that becomes your first priority work-wise.

I think it is hilarious when the members refer to the Dev team or the Dev uses "we" when refering to work done or decisions made, there is no Dev team.. there is Dev and there is the Community, two single entities with completely different agendas.

I may be wrong, but believe the lost coins issue has been fixed with the new wallet. And there is no way anyone could dump 200M or more on the marketplace right now, as there isn't enough volume (just in case someone says he could get around this and dump immediately).

We don't know the dev's financial situation, so I wouldn't assume he is rich or poor. I am just using logic to say it makes no sense for any dev to dump a coin this soon. And it's impossible to dump in large numbers currently.

I see no reason why people can't wait until distribution is finished, and then ask for a final list. And sure, the dev could be cheating... but as with the lost coins issue, it's a really weird way to cheat. I may have a somewhat shady mind or something, and I have only been into cryptos a couple of months, but I can easily come up with more profitable ways to scam than hording coins meant for other people or losing coins.

2458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) Fair & FREE Distribution | Pure PoS | BTER - MINTPAL on: April 23, 2014, 03:18:16 AM
As a Community member, I'm not intending to troll, but afraid of the possibility that COMM will be killed by someone's greed.

Some clarity as far as what is left, and who was given coins, is needed. If for nothing else, to give trolls something less to talk about. Any time the price rises on the coin, expect trolls... people who sold the coin for less or those who want to buy it cheaper.

I would be extremely doubtful that the dev wants to dump on an exchange. I mean, think about it... why would any dev want to dump a coin the first day it appears on a big exchange? Even if you assume the worst, that the dev has a stockpile of 10M (or however many) spare coins, I see no reason for him to dump anytime soon -- to get 10 btcs or instead of doing basically a tiny amount of work, and wait a while and easily get 30-50+ btcs?

As for the delay, I will just assume a normal excuse. Like he has a life, work and a family. People here can expect immediate answers, immediate action, but many devs aren't scouring the forums all day. I'd give him some time.

ok at first i was sceptical...."as a quebecer my self"

then i decide to give it  a shot. then as a nvidia owner  i got screw with the algo so i decide to rent a rig cost me 0.03btc and i mined 15qbc...

so now as a quebecer im asking about the premined coin promess to quebecers...

im 0.023btc in the hole...

let me know what is your air-drop plan Huh

I'm glad I didn't bother trying to cloudmine now. As stated, the IPO would have been the way to go.

You can try picking some up on an exchange to even out your costs. Although I have no idea if the coin will go up or down... so just don't yell at me if it happens to go down a bit. Personally I would think the price should move up once the coin goes to an exchange with a bit more volume and exposure.
2460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) Fair & FREE Distribution | Pure PoS | BTER - MINTPAL on: April 22, 2014, 11:39:11 PM
too many weak hand selling cheap sux they should be holding don't the know whales are trying to bring down the price?

It was bound to happen. Doesn't matter longterm really. I mean, nobody should expect everyone to hold forever... the coin needs to get distributed around a bit more before it can go up. Once whales get it, then we can expect pumps. Just ride the waves then until you decide it's time to get off.
