I'm pretty sure that this could be easily implemented in the new forum software, but I don't think it could ever be added in SMF, as SMF is really unstable, seeing that someone hacked the whole forum with avatars.
I know right , I keep asking my self why the hell Sirius and Satoshi made this choice to use Simple machines forum instead of vBulletin which have more security and also more known . Even if it's paid , but it does worth it . ~ Madness Maybe when they started out, they used all there resources on creating Bitcoin and couldn't afford a vBulletin forum. I'm waiting for the new forum, they said around February, but it's the end of February now and no new forum yet. It's not that expensive (the vBulletin forum) to be honest . It's about 300$ as far as I know , or they could simply download leaked versions but that may cause problems with the company (vBulletin). Btw , you can forget the story for the new forum little bit , because it may take some more time . Beta was expected in December and final release in Fed but none of this happened . so we should pass by a Beta first then the final release . so it's gonna take some time . I will say Summer . ~ Madness Maybe they didn't have $300 bucks to spare. Has the beta ever been released yet? I was so excited for the new forum. |

OP, this behavior was very shady. You should have sent a PM to Quickseller saying that you have lost interest/cannot pay, and worked it out from there. Lol I never asked him to send first.... this guy needs to get off of bitcoin talk and get some pussy

Last time there were avatars, someone hacked the forum by uploading javascript to the avatar. This happened:

Also, there was a meter saying that your bitcoins were going to be transferred to "CosbyCoins" (I wasn't here when the forum got hacked, but I have read about it.)
There should be avatar uploads in the new forum software, going to be released around February.
That's some clever shit... Did they give him a Cookie for that? He didn't get a cookie, but they let him off without any punishment because the Mods thought it was funny too and no permanent damage was done. That's kind of stupid, isn't it? I think they didn't know who did it, got a name 'The Hole Seekers'. -MZ Theymos has said that he does know who did it, but let him off. We don't know the full details though. |

Well I could do al lthe requested that is needed however why not just get it running more secure and wouldent need to change everything on it using old out dated software is nly causing more problems here. I could do a site like bitcointalk and I am already putting a lot of stuff together for altcoins and to be a lot more active. If theymos you are still looking for options for this to be updated to new software and setup and maintained for security bugs and making secure so that noe of the problems are to happen feel free to drop me a message and we can talk

SWF is insecure, there are a lot of 0-day exploits out there. HTML5 on the other hand is better, maybe only allow HTML5 videos for the tag?
YouTube embed code is an iframe. I don't know if we can control whether it will load an HTML5 player of a Flash player. You can force YouTube to use HTML5 by adding '?html5=1' to the end of the video. It has been a while since I used this tag, but I think it still works. Didn't youtube recently ditch flash and they now use html5 as a default? Not sure, I might be wrong. |

I think that there shouldn't be a "spoiler" button, as the quotes aren't really spoilers. Instead, I think shrinking large quotes would be a better option, with the option to expand them to full size.

Like hilariousandco said, it's for short and unmeaningful posts. However, it's weird how they put "sig ad" in there if you claim you didn't have a sig ad. Maybe you had a sig ad at the time of posting the post that got you banned? Anyways, just wait out the ban, don't create a new account to post while the ban is in effect, as it is against the forum rules, and you risk getting permabanned for ban evasion.
