I’m doubtful the prices predicted by the OP can happen in 2022 but wow, if we get even close to the prices mentioned some of us will be very rich. Like I said, I’m doubtful but would love to be wrong. I think this bull cycoe is over & we have to wait until after the next halving to see over $100,000.
2442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A solo Bitcoin miner just won block 718214 reward worth 6.25 $BTC on: January 11, 2022, 08:41:15 PM
I read about this earlier, it’s a once in a lifetime occurrence to be honest. The chances of a solo miner repeating this are miniscule. Congrats to this lucky pleb though, he had a very good day Smiley

@jackmallers
🇦🇷 Welcome, Argentina! 🇦🇷

Today, we launch a superior financial experience to a country that faces hyperinflation, predatory payment networks, and unusable cross-border transfers

Today, we use the world's open monetary network, #Bitcoin , to give hope to the people of Argentina
https://twitter.com/jackmallers/status/1480964517169410055?s=21

@jackmallers
Argentina is plagued with a history of economic turmoil and uncertainty.

Inflation will reach 55% this year.

GDP will contract by 12% this year.

There have been 8 currency crises since the central bank was founded.

Half the population is already living in poverty.
https://twitter.com/jackmallers/status/1480964519086206977?s=21

@jackmallers
In 1991, amidst hyperinflation, Argentina launched the Argentine Peso that pegged to the dollar

However, they never converted to dollarization, government spending soared, and peso devaluation began in 2001

This resulted in dollars as the primary unit of account in the country
https://twitter.com/jackmallers/status/1480964520113811456?s=21

@jackmallers
As such, Argentinians have historically fled to the dollar

An estimated 10%+ of the physical stock of dollars in the world is within the Argentine financial system

There is soaring demand for harder, more stable, money and a monetary policy the people of Argentina can rely on
https://twitter.com/jackmallers/status/1480964521166524416?s=21

@jackmallers
As Argentinians lose confidence and flee their peso for dollars, the country’s reserves shrink.

This has forced the government to devalue their currency, place restrictions on how much foreign currency citizens can hold, and shut down dollar-denominated payment networks.
https://twitter.com/jackmallers/status/1480964524912041984?s=21

@jackmallers
However, this hasn't stopped the Argentine people.

Dollars are now double the official rate in the parallel market and other payment mediums have been born to facilitate transactions between different currencies, peers, businesses, and countries.
https://twitter.com/jackmallers/status/1480964528535973898?s=21

@jackmallers
There is now unprecedented demand for an open monetary system that lives within a distributed network, has a known monetary policy, a fixed supply, and is resistant to censorship.

Argentina needs the best monetary asset and the best monetary network in human history: #Bitcoin
https://twitter.com/jackmallers/status/1480964530830249985?s=21

@jackmallers
With Strike, the Argentinian people can now hold a stable cash balance that can be spent both instantly and with no fees.

Cheap, instant, cash final, global payments of any size, for anyone, to anywhere. Even over @Twitter.

No inflation.

No restrictions.

Financial freedom.
https://twitter.com/jackmallers/status/1480964599768059905?s=21

@jackmallers
This is a superior financial experience that legacy financial institutions and governments have failed to deliver to the people of Argentina.

#Bitcoin  is a superior monetary system that builds towards financial inclusion and helps re-instill basic human freedoms.
https://twitter.com/jackmallers/status/1480964603437887493?s=21

Maybe Bukele was right & 2 new countries will adopt bitcoin as legal tender in 2022. It looks like we could have seen the first of the year in Argentina 🇦🇷
2444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 11, 2022, 06:55:00 PM
Would like to see my team Liverpool make a signing or two in this transfer window but I don’t hold out too much hope. We have cheapskate owners who refuse to give Klopp significant funds to strengthen. To be honest it’s a miracle we’ve done so well over recent years with the financial constraints that Klopp is under.
If only we had owners like Man City.

2446  Economy / Reputation / Re: Hhampuz- time to dig a little deeper into this garbage man on: January 09, 2022, 07:00:08 PM
Between 2015-2017 ish I worked as a garbage man, hours were great and the salary was decent and for some reason, after I shared this, it's been used as an insult by some people. It is what it is, doesn't bother me.

You don’t have to explain yourself to anybody, especially some anon troll. OP you should be embarrassed of your own conduct, get a life & stop trying to make others feel shit about themselves. As I’ve got older (mid 30’s now) I’ve realised life is too short & you should spend your time being positive. Criticising somebody publicly is shameful & a waste of your own time OP.

I’m guessing the OP is somebody that Hhampuz either denied or booted from one of his campaigns. Either way, don’t feed the troll any more. He has had more than enough of the attention he craves.

Almost, almost, almost Blackjack and I bet more than I usually do since it was Real Madrid but we busted that game at 22 points,,, while Celta Vigo at least forced many cards from both side to keep us a PUSH.

Many apologies for being late with this today and yesterday,,, a big game from France greets us today as we see whether PSG runs away with the title again or not.

OK I’m in, betting on both. Could do with a nice win to be honest. Fingers crossed!

Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal today, I’m thinking our boys will make light work of this tie. The Gunners are in good form at the moment, Arteta is finally starting to get his ideas across & build a team of talented youngsters. I think they could win the FA Cup, today is the start of their journey in Europe’s oldest club cup competition.

Come on Arsenal.

@Macroscope17
Something that should help cushion BTC's downside in this cycle: yield.

In previous years it was a purely speculative asset. Not true anymore.

In a world of low rates, the ability to earn yield becomes very attractive when tacked onto potential long-term capital appreciation.
https://twitter.com/macroscope17/status/1479895758434357254?s=21

@Macroscope17
I can tell you anecdotally that the ability to earn yield is increasingly attracting high net worth investors to the space. We also know from public statements and SEC filings that companies are doing this or considering it, including MicroStrategy:

Is that a green candle?

Seriously though, any chance we could resume the bull market? Nothing would make me happier, I am doubtful though.
2453  Economy / Speculation / Re: are we going to have "fear" months? on: January 07, 2022, 08:35:35 PM
For a forum heavily populated with relentless Bitcoin bulls, we're surprisingly easily spooked.

Forget months, I hope that we'll get another 2014-16-style years-long depression. Miner's paradise. This time I'll keep most of it, I promise.

The ones panicking are the people who are over exposed to bitcoin or the late comers who haven’t been through a bear market before. I sold pretty much nothing from 2014 to Q3 2021. In 2018 I thought my life was over, full of regret & panic but I still sold nothing. I learnt from that mistake & sold 25% between 53.8k & 65k, I am prepared for all outcomes now, feels good.

I think everybody needs to feel like I did in 2018 & 2019 so they get experience to do it right in future cycles.

2455  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 07, 2022, 05:56:19 PM

I hope none of you made my 2017 mistake & deludedly thought bitcoin won’t go down.
If you did, I hope you can live peacefully until the next bull cycle which will start in 2024. If you sold nothing don’t worry, we will hit 100k & above but not in 2022 & most likely not 2023 either. 2024 & 2025 we ride again.

Who are you?
Where did you hide the real LFC_Bitcoin??

We want the bullish stuff and the hype about 100k party! With all the corollaries!

/joke

I hear you.
These are extremely savy words, and something a grown up man would think.

But hey! I did come on the WO for the fun! Not for good financial advice!
/joke again!

We all know where bitcoin is going, potentially entering a bear market now changes nothing. I was convinced we’d hit 100k - 150k in 2021. It didn’t happen but OK.

Maybe it was COVID that diluted the bull run so if that’s the case maybe the bear market won’t be so bad.

I was told by a few wise OG’s to hedge & make sure you’re financially free in any situation. I took that advice, we are still going to $500,000+ this decade.

Last serious post - Back to posting gifs & memes in future.

2456  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 07, 2022, 04:13:49 PM
I think it’s looking pretty obvious now that the bull market is over. It shouldn’t bother any of you on a long time preference. I sold nothing in the 2017 bull & regretted it for ages. Didn’t make the same mistake this time, dumped 25% of my bags between 53.8k & 65k, set for life & now, seeing this dump & likely transition to bear market……

We're probably going to 30k in the next 12 months, I will buy back what I sold there. If not, no problem, 75% of stash locked away.

2457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: January 07, 2022, 03:28:37 PM
The late transfer of Ronaldo destroyed all plans of Ole Solskajer and it affects their performance so far. I have never had my belief in Ole but it's fair enough to say that if he had not been given that surprising transfer, he would have been managed the club better. Consequently Manchester United would have gotten better performance in general. He was sacked but Ragnick can not improve many things so far.

I can understand that, if Ronaldo had joined the team earlier, he would have had more time to reorganize the team.

Now Ronaldo, he goes well in any team, he can never be accused of destabilizing the group. So Solskajer didn't know how to create the right strategy, and I think this was a problem that had not yet been revealed.

In practice it was poor preparation this season by Man United.

Let’s be honest here, Ronaldo is one of the greatest players ever but he’s finished as a truly elite, world class player. He wasn’t great for Juve, he made no difference to them in the CL. He’s been declining for a few seasons. It’s natural, you can’t defy age. Overall a terrible move by man Utd.
