2441  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How many BFL ASIC is shipped? on: May 21, 2013, 07:36:24 PM
Note: Avalon never sold out to media and did this...

Results speak for themselves! Media were just as interested in Yifu and Avalon regardless of freebies, because he created and delivered working miners to his customers!!!
BFL didn't "sell out". they just gave tons of "samples" to make themselves look legit.
2442  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ATTN] BitSyncom: I need to change my shipping address for my batch 3 avalon on: May 21, 2013, 02:40:19 PM
When it comes down to it, look:  You ordered Avalon to the address that you initially listed.  Unless you are reselling or a scammer, there is no real explanation for why you would need to change your address for delivery.  If there is anything Avalon is trying to avoid, it is to get involved in the politics of reselling or facilitating any activity beyond initial delivery of the product.  Unless you can justify your movement of address with severe crisis ie. natural disaster, government intervention, bloody revolution (which I'm guessing you cannot) there is no justification on your end for this issue, and there is no reason for Avalon to address your convoluted "problem".  Receive your unit at the initial address and then resell it.  If you claim you listed the "wrong address", that is your fault, they explicitly stated there will be little to no customer service for their sales in their terms of service.

I have moved from Canada to the US for work.
it doesn't seem plausible that he was given less than 2 months notice to move to a new country.
2443  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [AVALON] - I got my ASIC Thread (Batch #2) on: May 21, 2013, 02:37:31 PM
3x Batch #2 Canada, had to pay around $250 custom/duty fees.
EMS or DHL?
2444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Btc wont show on blockchain on: May 21, 2013, 02:21:07 PM
can any miner please add it to block? i will pay $30 USD ?? is it doable?
yes, but it will be much easier to wait a few days. if it still isn't confirmed, remove the transaction from your wallet, and resend the transaction WITH a fee. there are threads with detailed explanation on how to do this, just search Wink
2445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin-qt sending address question using PHP on: May 21, 2013, 02:19:01 PM
your wallet contains many addresses. each transaction must be "sent" from one or more addresses address that have previously received funds. there's nothing to worry about. as long as the entire wallet is under your control, which is the case with bitcoin-qt, you will always get your bets back.

Bitcoins are too expensive. People simply can't work with a $100+ coin. This urgently needs addressing IMHO.
nothing we can do about that. the only way is to change the default unit from BTC to mBTC.

Quote
Bitcoin is a scam or ponzi scheme. They're only used to buy drugs.
the bitcoin bundle is going to change that, isn't it? Tongue

Bitcoins are impossible to get hold of.

I can't just tell my credit card company if it's gone wrong.
can you call your credit card company if you paid with cash?

Bitcoin is just a way to avoid tax.
if you don't want to pay tax, no problem. good luck converting your bitcoins back to fiat without reporting to the IRS. also, you're obligated to pay taxes on all bitcoin transactions, it's just not easily enforced. same as cash.
2447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Stuck transaction on: May 21, 2013, 02:04:32 PM
if you search the forums, there are various threads on how to resend the transaction with fees. there's no point asking a pool owner to help you, because they never come here.
2448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Dat Transaction Confirmation Time... on: May 21, 2013, 02:02:37 PM
Meh.
I HATE paying fees. Especially cause I'm this poor Smiley
And anyway, I've done a ton of low priority transactions, with no fee, and they've been all much faster.
the minimum fee is 0.005 BTC. that's 50 cents. how can you not pay that fee?
2449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Btc wont show on blockchain on: May 21, 2013, 02:00:46 PM
friend sent me coins but he didnt include fee, now its almost 24 hours and transaction not on blockchain. Is there way to speed it up? Can this transaction be reversed to include fees?
yes, search the forums. you can delete the transaction from your wallet, and attempt to resend the transaction with a fee.
I heard it might take days to show if no fee were included
that is correct. next time, just pay the 0.005 BTC fee (only 50 cents USD).
2450  Economy / Lending / Re: Look for a $1,500 loan or sell iphone5 64 gun factory unlocked on: May 21, 2013, 01:15:38 AM
iphone 5 is worth 700 i think
You can buy a NEW iphone from ebay/apple store for $700. The iphone in question is USED (at the very least not original) and possibly blacklisted. Therefore, the market value is $600 at best.
2451  Other / Meta / Re: Annoying "reputation" threads in off topic.... on: May 21, 2013, 01:13:02 AM
Don't get me wrong, there are users who aren't scammers and only use it to show they have done past trades. But, it's getting out of hand, and a thread saying how good the OP is doesn't mean anything. The OP could of just paid them to say it, maybe they lose out that way. But, think of it, when they actually do scam. It more than makes up for it.

If someone says they are trustworthy and shows you their thread, that DOESN'T MEAN THEY ACTUALLY ARE.
it's a good way to keep track of each user's past trading activities. much better than having a .txt file that you paste into every selling/buying post you make.
2452  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying Bitcoins for PayPal USD on: May 20, 2013, 10:02:01 PM
10% below MtGox 24-hour Low.
usually it's 10% above the 24 hour high for paypal transactions, especially when dealing with newbies like you.
2453  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: No mods or even third-party mod tools. on: May 20, 2013, 08:55:57 PM
this isn't a game. there's no need to make this moddable. if you want to make some bitcoin service, use the json-api.
2454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Say Bob sends Alice on: May 20, 2013, 08:21:52 PM
the recipient can pay some pool to include the transaction in their next block.
2455  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Automatized payments on: May 20, 2013, 08:07:43 PM
if you want to make sure the inputs are always from a specific customer's address, you'll need the raw transactions api. otherwise, I don't see why you can't just send with a master wallet.
2456  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [3] countdown! on: May 20, 2013, 06:20:45 PM
so batch 3 will be finished shipping sometime in june?
2457  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ATTN] BitSyncom: I need to change my shipping address for my batch 3 avalon on: May 20, 2013, 06:19:17 PM
don't waste your time. the never respond to: PM, email, or tickets.
2458  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: I don't use the Bitcoin-Qt client anymore due to lax security, can it be fixed? on: May 19, 2013, 07:38:55 PM
Your responses were: "how?, impossible, impossible, and lol."
confirmed for 10 second attention span

Also, you have no idea what ad hominem means. All you're doing is randomly spewing out buzzwords. Let's recall:
Quote
An ad hominem (Latin for "to the man" or "to the person"[1]), short for argumentum ad hominem, is an argument made personally against an opponent instead of against their argument
I raised questions about each one of your suggestions. Instead of providing clear implementation details, you called me out for attacking you.

You're the one proposing a change/feature. Therefore, you should be able to provide implementation details to overcome the problems that others raise. I'll reiterate again: half-baked ideas are worthless.
2459  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: I don't use the Bitcoin-Qt client anymore due to lax security, can it be fixed? on: May 19, 2013, 02:59:49 PM
I can't even respond to Grue because he's just one of those guys that tells you that "you don't know anything."  Not helpful.
is your attention span 10 seconds? because I responded to every single suggestion you made. all you're doing is making vague suggestions with no way to implement with the current protocol. for example, the "delayed addresses" suggestion. how exactly is that going to be enforced? even if it could, how would it help if your computer was infected? the attacker can simply wait a few days until the funds are available.

come to think of it, what's wrong with the systems currently available? we have multisig transactions, as well as printable cold wallets.

you're the one making the suggestions. half baked ideas are dime a dozen, what we need are ideas with implementation details.
2460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How works the bitcoin ATM? on: May 19, 2013, 02:54:15 PM
for getting bitcoins: you just have to trust the atm not to screw you over. alternately, the atm may use a hosted wallet with "green" addresses, which you have to trust as well.

for sending bitcoins: small amounts will need no confirmation, since it's not likely anyone will try to scam $10 worth of bitcoins. for large transactions, the customer will either have to wait for 1 confirmation, or use a green address from a hosted wallet.
