Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and have been doing research on virtual currencies for the past few weeks having recently graduated from university. I'm interested in setting up a mining operations to mine various virtual currencies from the UK (Initially) has anyone set up a similar operation recently? my main aim of this thread is to gather some feedback from the more experienced members and to see if any venture in virtual currencies is worth while in your opinion ?
Regards
I'd rather create services that complement the Bitcoin protocol. See my sig for examples. Gave up mining after my GPU died last month.

If you'd like to play safe and pay the fees, then escrow is great, or bidding by eBay is escrow in itself. I've done good business with ninjaboon recently.

The miners are already full paid for. The winner of this auction will get the hardware from the pre-order. It is an auction so I'm expecting the auction price to go up a lot though as more people bid.
can you show some email screenshots as evidence?

I am waiting for two of my orders, both from batch 3 to get here. I am going to be doing something different with the other one! My hosting fee will be 4%. This will include electricity.
May I know when you will start shipping. I think he's not shipping the module out. He's hosting it and you get profits from it.

I'm curious, when do people think the undercutting will stop and more importantly why? Still, the good news to take is that a sizable portion of the released 2 million have been eaten into and its only been a couple of days. Lets just hope the momentum can continue...
It would be helpful if Bitcoin wouldn't tank right now. I think AMC will remain fairly stable for the next few weeks but the BTC/$ course might still drop, so there's no reason to invest. Here's a thought...Bitcoin is going down because bitcoin is flooding into AMC which is being dumped on the market for cash. Just a thought... I thought BTC price was lower due to all the DDOS attacks https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=242971.msg2589301#msg2589301

I want to know more about eASIC. How do they perform their simulations? Can we see some of the 16 GH/s results? I don't ask these questions out of skepticism. I ask out of enthusiasm. A little bit of evidence could re-energize shareholders and draw in new investment. Also, does AMC have some sort of exclusive arrangement with eASIC?, in other words, eASIC won't develop hashing chips for other miners while under contract with AMC? Or at least AMC's design would be proprietary? Anything about these potential partners would be helpful.
I've known Ken for some time now and didn't know eASIC was working with them (AMC+VMC). All the best to them in this endeavor.

It's simple. If demand for bitcoin increases at a faster rate than mining produces them, the value will go up.
Demand will go up if the currency meets a need the general population has better than current solutions meet that need.
It's all up to us. We need to innovate and provide bitcoin solutions that meet current general population needs. If we do that, value goes up and we're rich beyond our wildest dreams.
Yes, its a demand and supply thing. As more merchants, both online+offline adopt this global payment system, the value of each Bitcoin will increase to meet rising demands. I believe it could reach USD1000 by 2015. (don't quote me).

I would be interested in purchasing shares at IPO price outside of Bitfunder. OP, could you sell shared privately and hold them in escrow?
If you guys need an escrow, see my sig.. btc-asia.com good luck with the sale.
