Satoshi was a time traveler sent back in time by corporations from the future.
There is a great post on this somewhere. Seriously.

It's impossible for any country to ban bitcoin unless they take the entire grid offline.
And only those that are participants in the system can be regulated: merchants, banks, exchanges, etc. Once the people become aware of this fact and once the government begins to understand the taxation opportunities of an inevitably unstoppable currency, it will regulate not ban.

The goldcoin faucet doesn't work anymore. Hope it will work again soon.
Thanks for the head's up. I'll contact the faucet operator and ask him to have a look. In the mean time, if you have a FB page you can register for the forum and get 100 free goldcoins. https://www.gldtalk.org/index.php

Goldcoin is doing just fine. We've got a lot of exciting developments in the works, including a new java client coming soon!

The receive window seems a little clunky to me with "all fields optional" and strange logic flow.
It also has a little added terror with that "not recommended" check box. Quite strange overall. It's almost as if someone was trying to think of ways to make the client more complicated, confusing, and scary.
Satoshi is probably rolling over in his grave.

Can you check on Goldcoin (GLD)?I think you guys might be using our old block explorer. The new one is here: http://gold.cryptocoinexplorer.com/I've also updated the official thread on Bitcointalk: bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=317568.0 That one doesn't show the total number of coins mined either. That's the stat I need. Thanks. I'll get in touch with dreamwatcher today and find out what's going on with our other explorer. Edit: The old explorer is back online now and I see we're back on the list!

bitcoin is here to stay, in its current form or in a form of an alternative blockchain style ledger
Agreed. I envision a future where there are multiple altcoin blockchains to make digital currency truly decentralized. Having everything stacked on top of the bitcoin blockchain is a form of centralization within itself.

Every time I read about a coin under attack or an exchange. It just reassures me these coins will ever gain wide acceptance.
That's what people said to the Wright brothers when they were building their flying machine.

Okay, maybe I'll go with Crypsty. She said she had two factor auth on but that somehow someone had gotten in and emptied all her coins.
This seems highly unlikely unless she had thrown complete "caution to the wind" in regards to protecting her own password.

My friend's uncle is the CEO of walmart and told me they're going to actually support CoiledCoin.
My sister's brother works at Walmart and she said they were thinking of hiring you to setup a computer at the main entrance and let you make each person their own coin before they came inside to shop.

The world needs altcoins otherwise we'll be stuck with a centralized bitcoin blockchain.
