3% is a huge fee for just being able to send your funds to an exchange/custodial wallet. A simple alternative to mixers, is to send your funds to another exchange and to convert them into another cryptocurrency there before sending those coins to your local exchange/wallet. If it is only accepting bitcoins you will need to use a 2nd exchange, to convert back the altcoins used in bitcoin before sending them to your wallet. |

Nowadays almost all websites use HTTPS, so VPN providers don't see what you are doing except the URLs you are visiting as your ISP when you are not using a vpn. But if you use DNS-over-HTTPS protocol in your browser it won't see them anymore.
I understand that but this is not so much related with what I said about (5 Eyes, 9 Eyes, and) 14 Eyes countries. Even if you use VPN that is based in one of those countries you could assume that governments from this countries could easily have history of your browsing with real IP address and visited websites. You are certainly right but what they could do with this, if you are not a dangerous terrorist? I don't think those datas can be used as evidences in court. Moreover most of illicit activities are only done on the darknet nowadays. |

This one for instance costs $13.89 per year and allows 2500 GB bandwidth per month (note that it counts both ways when used as a VPN). That's because they have free accounts with a decent number of servers to pick from. They were also giving away promotional accounts with 50 GB of traffic a few years ago. Again this kind of issue was brought up many times. Casino is not the one who decides on the bet limit allowed per player because odds provider is the one who gives this to the player based on the win rate of your account. Technically it could be implemented in a more decentralized way with a little more effort which would also solve the security problem.
For example the user's phone could send a message to the centralized server with the user's address to first fetch a list of UTXOs. Then the user can locally build a transaction spending any of the given outputs, even sign it offline (for example on another device) and then send it back to that server through SMS.
The first contact could also act as a registration so that the server can associate your phone number with your address so that if anybody wanted to send you coins they send a message to that server with your phone number and get your address.
The only limitation I can think of is the SMS size which user may need to send/receive multiple ones per tx considering the size of the transaction could be bigger.
For the size limitation you could use MMS instead of SMS, and even send/receive QR code pictures through them. I didn't test it personally so I don't know if it is working properly but Samourai wallet seems to offer a feature to send signed transactions to broadcasting servers through SMS. There is a way you can look up a BTC address for scams and this user has received like 50 withdrawals totaling .05. I reported use on the site for scam. Got to wonder if they used address to make withdrawals from other users. One time someone bet my entire balance in 1 bet and I changed password and got the Malware for protection. Yes usually they don't make withdrawals on all the accounts they hack, they wager the balance of the victims and only make withdrawals on accounts where the balance is large enough, in order to be less easily spotted. That's what the admin has already said if I remember correctly. That's why it's surprising to see a hacker making all those withdrawals to the same address. What is this address by the way? Have you set up the 2FA security on your account? You must activate it if you have a balance of a significant amount, that is to say you can't afford to lose. That's the best safety measure you can take actually. I hope for you the transaction is still pending and hasn't been broadcasted yet. It shows pending and under review that it could take up to 24 hours. I have a very secure password. Why didn't I get an email authorizing this like I always do. No one I can really contact and must hope TheQuin can stop it. I will set the 2FA. It's over 200k Satoshis. May not seem like a lot but took long time to accumulate and I am getting 100 Sats per hour. 2FA is activated on my account so I can't say if it's the same for accounts not using it, but personally I only receive an email once the withdrawal has been processed, with a link of the transaction on the blockchain, it's just a notification actually. In addition this notification can be disabled in the settings of the account, so if someone is accessing your account he can disable it. You should change your password ASAP IMO. |
