24461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: July 01, 2017, 12:53:31 PM
Are you switching back to skein Phil? NH ZEC sure is down a bit. What's everyone mining now?

let me see my one rig on skein

this is a 3 x 1070 rig

http://zpool.ca/?address=16yLHLoeyuCLPMXkVpC3gyrRYvwRGwjKJr

it earned

0.040  for a week  it was 100 bucks  for 7 days  which is 14.28 usd for 3x 1070's
0.024  for this week  so it dropped to about 60 bucks  for 7 days is  8.58 usd for 3 x 1070's

so I will keep an eye on it.  but zec and skein both dropped just a bit.
24462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: July 01, 2017, 12:52:15 PM
So phil   you are getting :

550 watts 2000 sols for 3x 1080ti
500 watts 1700 sols for 2x 1080ti and 1 1070 itx

Please correct me if I am wrong.

you are close.  yeah  I need the fan  to make it work , but those 3 cards all all running in the 60-65c area.

At the moment  I think it is more value to get the 3x 1080 ti builds done.

They do more zec and ti price is a little less crushed then the 1070 price.

On July 3rd I get 498 to spend on ebucks  and I have a 25 dollar gift card.

that comes to 523 to spend. I will be getting a 1080ti.

I sold the katana's
I am going to sell  the 1070 itx cards

msi 1070 aero itx
https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GTX-1070-ITX-AERO/dp/B06X1GZB5F/ref=sr_1_1?

gigabyte 1070 itx

https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GeForce-GDDR5-Graphics-GV-N1070IXOC-8GD/dp/B01JD2OSX0/ref=sr_1_1?

msi is 550 at amazon
gigabyte is 579 at amazon

at philipma1957  they are  440 free shipping to usa
24463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: July 01, 2017, 12:37:29 PM
the fan is a 140mm bGears

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GX3MBUU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

grills for the fan

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0043SIX4A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
that 140mm fan is from bGears and is needed to run the 3 1080 ti's in the tight space

I ran over night zero issues  this is about 2000 sols at about 550 watt on the pdu meter

this 1080ti build with the fan     is preferred  over this build

2 1080 ti  and 1 1070 itx

I plan on using it with 6 x GTX 1060s with 6 x Powered PCI-E Risers and 1 x SSD.
Yes it will be used for mining 24/7 (Probably Ethereum or Zcash.)
My total TDP will be around 800W (or less).

Now, i know this may seem very confusing but i have tried to be as simple as i could.

The reason for this is just to verify that no cable will be overloaded and the configuration is fine. I did plan to buy more separate cables so it would only be 1 cable per connection, but it seems that it is not possible to buy additional cables for this PSU and i have been told it is not safe to use other cables for a different PSU model, even if they might fit (Which would be rare anyway because Antec have a different cable format.)

It would be a big help if someone could reassure me that this configuration is fine.

Thanks!

The psu lacks the power you will need.

It is a four rail system and you can run 1 gpu per rail not 2. So I would think you will have a lot of issues trying six cards.
24466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PC doesn't boot with second PSU on. 6 GPUs (GTX 1070) on: July 01, 2017, 03:51:58 AM
This belongs in alt coins.

I asked for it to be moved

Okay six risers correct?

Three cards on first psu.

Are wired to three risers correct?

The second psu is doing three cards

On three risers.  So it only has its wires attached to the risers and the 3 gpus correct?

Are the power risers correctly attached to mobo?

Try running three on the first psu.

And one on the second psu.

Tytanick --- I noticed that NVIDIA image is now 16gb image... looks like this will be single image for AMD and NVIDIA?

Hope you can retain the AMD only image because all my rigs at the farm are on 16gb sticks for the 7.xgb image.

I used 32gb stick to test the NVIDIA image because a standard 16gb cannot fit into the new AMD+NVIDIA image.

https://simplemining.net/download/simpleminer-RX-v1096-kernel4.11.4-amd16.60-nvidia375.66-i915fw.imgc

is this the latest amd+nvidia image?

Thanks FullZero..

I currently have
POWERLIMIT="NO"

POWERLIMIT_WATTS=225

__CORE_OVERCLOCK=0
MEMORY_OVERCLOCK=0

MANUAL_FAN="YES"

FAN_SPEED=65  #or higher
** However it will go for about 12 to 23 hours and all comes down to 0 sols at which point i have to reboot the system.

If i do as you mentioned Core = 100 and Mem = 900 - it might crash faster - or no?
- i cant find a stable setting, just want this to be auto run.  I have 2 EVGA 1080ti cards running ZEC

Any suggestions?

your settings are fucked up

try

POWERLIMIT="YES"

POWERLIMIT_WATTS=200

__CORE_OVERCLOCK=100
MEMORY_OVERCLOCK=0

MANUAL_FAN="YES"

FAN_SPEED=80

BELOW IS FOR ETH COIN NOT ZEC!
If i do as you mentioned Core = 100 and Mem = 900

I am going to burn  new usb  for 0017  I will show settings I use.
24471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: June 30, 2017, 10:39:56 PM
My problem from yesterday happened again..
It was fine last night into this morning and when I got to work and checked the first card was 84 while cards 2 and 3 were mid to low 60s..
So I dropped the power from 80 to 70 and it dropped back to mid 60s.. I checked the power usage and prior to me dropping it, the card was running at 100%! Afterburn was set to 80% and the other cards were 80..

Anyone have any idea why the card would run at 100 when it was set to 80? Adjusting the setting to 70 woke it up.. but still..

Have you tried changing the cards around in the slots yet?  THought u were going to try that.  I would unlink all the cards reset all the settings in afterburner then saving the profile.

Also set the heat limit to like 70% so it auto cuts it back on the power if it goes over 70% I dont know if will work if you are having that issue.

I have a weird issue like that sometimes but it is the opposite.  If you go from Skien to Zec after a few days mining one of your cards might stuck using half its power.  A reboot usually fixes it.

I got home and looked at the card and it was slightly sticking out of the pci-e so I thought that was my problem. Also went looking for my powered usb risers.. couldnt find those. Hoping they turn up this weekend and I can hang the cards and not worry about temp issues..

It was running perfectly find prior to putting in the 3rd card.. but I am also auto switching coins at nicehash so maybe it gets hung up on a switch?

auto switching is very hard on gear

Well it's Nicehash's auto switching and I only have 2 coins selected so I would hope/think it doesn't change that much right?

  try 1 coin only  for a day or two  see if problem happens again.

btw my 1 aorus  would do exactly the same thing it would go to 82-85 f.  It would not stay locked in on afterburner. but I did find a way to get around it.  I do only zec with it and use win 7 and on afterburner settings I found a third party card option which I checked off.along with resume settings after restart

 since then it works well

it is at the solar array

Yes   solar1080ti   Equihash   2012 Sol/s   =  it has  3 1080ti's 2 msi areo's and 1 aorus

While I got too crushed by my regular job to participate, I had been figuring that it was going to be a negative jump. The current figures continue to support that, though it might be even more negative than I was thinking. This would be the 1st difficulty decrease for 2017.

I've learned quite a bit from this thread, so may be someone with experience can help me with this particular question.

I'm in US and I'm looking for a smart plug with wifi that works at 220V in US.

I was using a regular smart wifi plug from tplink for my 110V line, but I've recently moved to 220V 30 amp circuit, I'm using a PDU that outputs 220V and I can't find a smart plug that would monitor energy use and lets me power cycle remotely. Any recommendations?

have you considered a cheaper solution like SRR (SimpleRigResetter) @ https://simplemining.net, if you have many rigs or running a farm this SRR makes a lot of sense vs a PDU.

A 30 amp pdu can do 24 amps at 220/240 about 5800 watts

Or around 6 x 950 watt rigs.  If it has remote on off via Internet it is costly.  Most will not do individual plugs they will reset all the rigs.
Srr will do eight rigs and up to 40 rigs automatic.

And only the rigs needed.

I have a pdu and do not use a lot of rigs.

But if I expand I will be getting srr

@. Op. I do not do Skype

And you did not tell me where you want the gear to be shipped to.

To the community I would be careful working for op.

Send me a pm if you are in the USA.

I am in New Jersey and would build to your specs and ship to you.

But overseas is too difficult.

Okay  hows is this for a problem?

I am supposed to sell 2 diamond rx 480 8gb gpus
they are now going for an insane price from the builder  over 600 usd.

I made a promise to sell them  in my pm's   and of course  I have had 48 pages of pm's since I purchased them in march.

so if you read this please resend the pm as I am ready to sell them.

I paid 200 each for them or 400 for the pair.

I am going to add fans to the frame to blow fresh air into it. It is running about 65C+. I hope to bring it down to 60C. I prefer to keep my rigs modular so I can remove them from the racks and repair them.

see if a drop from 65 to 60  tdp  lowers hash a lot.

if you are at 2800 and drop to 2700 sol  but heat is good.

that may be better then adding fans to stay at 2800 sol

me too bought 1pc gigabyte aorus extreme 1080 ti (last piece) since zotac was out of stock...good thing I spin the fan with my hand before running this gpu..I noticed that the other fan is hitting the metal bracket, luckily the bracket was metal so I bend it, problem solved.

i think zotac amp extreme 1080 ti has a better cooler than gigabyte 1080 ti aorus extreme.

zotac can do below 80c while gigabyte can reach up to 85c.

regarding the hynix 900w psu I bought (posted up thread) I discovered the other the two 12v rails have different voltages like 12.25 and the other rail is 12.45 so I made changes to the wiring so those 12v rails dont mix up on a single psu. different gpu will use separate 12v...the psu have two separate pcb inside..when you power on the psu one 12v rail is already alive and the other 12v is still off (until you power on the board).

Good mod.  I hope it works.

As for a card I may buy  it is a lower powered 1050ti.

Curious about a low power build I already use.

It has this card in it

I run  some compac sticks   a cpu coin and the rx 460 is on zec for now

if I switch to a 1050 ti  my sols  may double for zec

I need to cut the case to get a 1050 ti to fit as the case is 1 slot (moron silverstone I think)  zotac has this

https://www.zotac.com/us/product/graphics_card/zotac-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-mini

my sols  would jump  from 90 to 160

So a question on how to setup a repair with Bitmain Warranty. I created an account and opened a ticket requesting a repair on my R4 but I have not received a response and it has been over a week now. Is there an email address to contact them and should I try via that method?

The unit is still under the 180 day warranty, but I understand that this will most likely be a paid repair. If a warranty repair is an option then I only have two more weeks before 180 days is up.

Currently running on a single board at half the hash rate.

Thanks for any help that can be offered.
try sending a pm to myrig he is tied to bitmainwarranty.

They fixed my r4 some what and paid some funds to  me with a free hosting at host.myrigCom
