2461  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: When did Electrum Wallet Originated? on: January 24, 2019, 08:19:22 PM
Wow im surprised by this.  So that would mean that probably was the most popular wallet to keep btc around then?

Also those ppl that bought btc like around that time or before it, was the exchanges the most popular place to keep btc?  Then electrum was pretty close up there?  What other wallets were available similar to electrum at the time?  Also was security with electrum pretty good back then when it came out?
2462  Bitcoin / Electrum / When did Electrum Wallet Originated? on: January 24, 2019, 08:13:54 PM
Does anyone know exactly what year did electrum wallet originate?
2463  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is paxful legit? on: January 08, 2019, 08:38:59 PM
Could you sell btc for bank transfer in paxful though?  Wait so its basically like localbitcoin then?  So if you receive paypal or any reversible method, then you are at risk?

Im curious but are there any services or sites that pay you out in bank transfer or paypal but its legit paypal for btc?  I know you could sell btc for bank transfer in coinbase etc but what are the other options?
2464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best Way to Convert BTC to FIAT for American? on: January 02, 2019, 06:05:43 AM
What site can you go from btc to paypal?  I dont mind getting paypal funds but are these paypal funds legit though?
2465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Best Way to Convert BTC to FIAT for American? on: January 02, 2019, 02:36:36 AM
I have bittrex and binance account.  I used it to trade btc for altcoin, thus buy altcoin only.  I have a coinbase acct that needs to get reverified.  Im also an American as well.  Thus i know coinbase and gemini are 2 sites where you could sell btc for real cash and get bank transfer to your american bank account.  At the moment, i still haven't reverified my coinbase account.  Gemini i cannot use b/c they require me to use an sms us number for verification and im outside the us at the moment.  So i dont really have a way to sell btc for cash into my us bank account such as bank of america or wells fargo.

If i wanted to sell btc for usd or fiat if i dont have a verified account at coinbase or bitstamp... is the best way to make sure i sell btc at the price i want to sell is basically sell it for usdt at bittrex or binance?  Then once im reverified on coinbase or could use gemini, then i basically sell the usdt for btc at bittrex or binance and then immediately send the btc to coinbase or gemini and then i get a usd balance there... and then transfer that to my american bank account?

Does anyone know what are my other options because im not in the US at the moment?  Someone mentioned you could use bitstamp and they do wire transfers around the world.  Has anyone here used bitstamp and done a wire transfer from bitstamp to their american bank account and how was it?  Were fees a lot or not much?  Someone said this was one way to do it.  The other thing is does anyone know if i could use the bitpay debit card outside the us and withdraw usd from atm that way?  If so, i might consider getting a bitpay card whenever im in the us etc.

So Americans, what are the best options to sell btc for cash to your bank?  Is it basically coinbase or gemini?  Back then i used circle once for tiny amount and it was great but they no longer operate for that anymore.  If they did, i would use circle instead.

Any other exchanges where you could sell btc for real money for americans with american bank account?
2466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waves Lite Client with Nano Ledger S on: January 01, 2019, 04:14:00 AM
Well im looking to find someone who also have waves and did this process of transferring it to nano ledger s.
2467  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Phishing Update on: December 29, 2018, 07:29:58 PM
Also someone mentioned a while back that you could use the nano ledger s with electrum.  I never done this.  But if you do it this way, i heard electrum acts as a watching only wallet.  But if you had download this, it would not affect it since you are still using the nano ledger?
2468  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Phishing Update on: December 29, 2018, 07:28:19 PM
Im also confused here.  So when the ppl downloaded that software, i read they gave you a link to download it and you had to copy and paste it right?  However, was that directly from electrums website or a fake website?  So if you downloaded electrum from the legit site when this occurred, there would been no issue?

So those that downloaded it, did they had to put their seed into it as copy and paste it?  If not, how did that occur then?
2469  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Phishing Update on: December 29, 2018, 07:21:20 PM
so as of now, if i open electrum as is and dont send btc, i will not see any message correct?

should i update to the new electrum on the website right now?

should i bother trying to send the small amount of btc i have now in my electrum wallet so i dont keep anything there?  the thing is if i do try to send btc from electrum right now, will i get that message that others got or not?  If i do, can i x it out and ignore it?  im hesitant to even open electrum b/c of this now.
2470  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum Phishing Update on: December 29, 2018, 05:47:11 AM
I notice several threads of this where people mentioned they tried to send btc and it got a message and it ask to update electrum.

I use electrum very rarely now but still have some btc there.  Does that mean if i try to send btc with electrum, i will get this message?  If so, how does it look and does it update it for you if you click yes or something like that?  Or you have to visit the website to download it?

I opened electrum few times from my laptop recently and had no issue but i have not sent any btc from it recently.  From what i read, ppl who are trying to send btc get this message.  So did this affect all electrum users?  Someone mentioned i believe its only if you didn't put a password on electrum?  Or its only electrum users from a current version?  I'm using 3.0.5 if that matters?  I don't want to open electrum and then try to send btc and then get an update message and have no clue what to click.  Like does it ask you yes or no?  Or its just a message and you have to X it out?  And where do you do the update?
2471  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How to transfer altcoins to Nano Ledger S Wallet? on: December 26, 2018, 06:19:41 AM
Thanks HCP.

So that means the waves after the transfer would be in the nano ledger s... and the waves wallet would act as the watching client right?  Thus no waves would be in the waves wallet anymore?

However, all those airdrops that i got for holding waves... those would still be kept in the waves client and not nano ledger s right?
2472  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Nano Ledger S USD Value Incorrect? on: December 26, 2018, 02:06:56 AM
I thought there was a power ledger wallet as when you type power ledger wallet, there is a site called powerledger.io?

Thanks for the information with everything else man.

By the way, how many of these coins can i install at once?  Example i installed bitcoin and also waves already.  I know there is a limit but i believe that has changed?   Also if i see waves in my nano ledger s when i scroll around it on the ledger screen, that means i have it downloaded right?
2473  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to make money with bitcoin price dropping? on: December 26, 2018, 12:33:28 AM
Well how does one short anything if they don't have anything to begin with?  Example you have 10000 dollars.  You think btc will drop in price pretty soon.  So how could you short if you have btc on you at the moment?  Because wouldn't shorting require you to either have btc already?  Because say you think btc will drop soon.  Well you certainly arent going to buy any btc anytime soon right?  Because i thought shorting means you can bet on it dropping in price from now?

2474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Waves Lite Client with Nano Ledger S on: December 25, 2018, 11:55:26 PM
I still have waves in the lite client.  I want to use it with the nano ledger s.  Do most of you have waves in the client still or you moved it to ledger s?  Anyone here still using the lite client or most are using desktop client?

Can someone tell me how i move waves to the ledger s?  So basically someone said it has to be used together for it to work.  So that would mean the waves moves to the ledger s.  But all the airdrops like wave community token and similar coins are on the waves wallet?
2475  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Nano Ledger S USD Value Incorrect? on: December 25, 2018, 11:51:33 PM
HCP thanks.  And putting a password is 100 percent recommended right?  I know with electrum, you told me a while back, you 100 percent need to put one for sending btc.  But the other password of seeing its balance, well that is of course recommended but not required but of course someone checking your computer could view it very easily etc.

Also are you familiar with powerledger?  I notice that ledger s supports it.  But then it shows you need MEW or mycrypto as the wallet similar to like waves wallet and nano ledger s?  So example if i keep powerledger in my trading account, i can't just send it to nano ledger s.  I need either MEW or mycrypto to use in combination with nano ledger s?  So you cant even use powerledgers own wallet for this?
2476  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Nano Ledger S USD Value Incorrect? on: December 25, 2018, 11:45:01 PM
HCP, when i do the thing with waves, so that would mean all my waves would be transferred to the nano ledger s if i do the transfer?  Thus there would be 0 waves in my waves client?

Do you know what happens to all those airdrops from waves like wave community token and similar coins etc?

Also.  Does this mean i could basically right now check my nano ledger s with either ledger live or that bitcoin ledger app from the chrome store?  Thus i still have 2 options to choose from anytime i want?  Also i notice that when i opened ledgerlive without the ledger connected to it, it still showed the currency balance of btc there.  But that is updated live is that correct?  Like example i sent some btc using the bitcoin ledger wallet from chrome.  Then i unplug it from laptop.  Then i open ledgerlive... but i do not have the ledger connected to my laptop.  It would show the correct updated btc balance?
2477  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Nano Ledger S USD Value Incorrect? on: December 25, 2018, 11:40:49 PM
Hcp, yes i will use the edit button from now on.  And earlier for some reason after i click manager, it never loaded the apps which is why i ask this.
2478  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Nano Ledger S USD Value Incorrect? on: December 25, 2018, 11:39:17 PM
Alright nevermind, it got me to the app catalog for some reason.  But was there any issue because i had waves client opened earlier?
2479  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Nano Ledger S USD Value Incorrect? on: December 25, 2018, 11:38:13 PM
Okay when i installed waves from coin app from manager... i actually had the waves lite client opened.  I did not notice this earlier.  You say you are not suppose to do that.  Is there any effect this had?  I had the waves lite client opened and did not know it would have any affect.

Right now i closed the waves lite client.  But where is that page where i could choose to download all those apps?  I cannot find this on ledger live at the moment.
2480  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Nano Ledger S USD Value Incorrect? on: December 25, 2018, 11:35:05 PM
Okay this is strange.  Is there a reason why i can't go back to that page where it shows the manager and all the coins i could install like waves and every other coin?

Because when i click on accounts and the plus sign, there is only a small number of coins i could add from there.  Like i don't see an option to add powerledger for example.  I cannot find this page anymore.
