2461  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano S is not safe!! on: March 11, 2021, 03:58:56 PM
Ledger wallets are a well-known safe hardware wallet for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, so before accusing them, let us know first where did you buy that Ledger Nano s wallet.

If you have bought your Ledger nano s device on these authorized distributor/reseller networks, you're probably safe and not the device fault losing your Bitcoin, but if not, you might have used a not genuine device and probably a preconfigured or tampered one which they can access your device.  To avoid a headache, always purchase on the official site.

It might be helpful if you read this article and you might find the answer to your problem but unfortunately, not to recover your Bitcoin's loss. and sorry for your loss, learn this mistake don't let it will happen again.
2462  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade + study = great combination on: March 11, 2021, 03:32:37 PM
I thought you will give an idea or something knowledgeable advice on how to trade just because the title says, "Trade + study = great combination", do you think this is relevant to your post?

I never tried copy trading but I have heard, using this feature sometimes mislead newbies to losing their funds, so I suggest having a full study first and don't rely on copy-paste trading because the movement of the market will not repeat itself for the copy-paste trading.  Trading isn't an easy task of gaining money and there's nothing to hurry if you didn't have yet knowledge and skills on it.

Of all you have been mentioned above, only the Etoro exchange platform could I trust, the rest aren't well known and probably it's a risk to trust to hod your fund there.
2463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: With a clogged network, users will start abandoning BTC for alts. Change my mind on: March 11, 2021, 03:13:01 PM
I don't know if this is just with me as the Blockchain app I use doesn't recognize Segwit addresses (It has never recognized it once since the Segwit thing came to be). It records them as invalid addresses. Does anyone have similar issue?
I have never used blockchain wallet before, but I just downloaded it not quite long for testing, it does not support both native and nested segwit addresses, it is one of the wallets misleading people to pay high unnecessary fee. Although, it is one of the wallet not recommendable for use, also a web wallet which are most vulnerable to online attacks. For it not supporting segwit is also one of the good reasons this wallet should not be used.
AFAIK, you can modify fees on Blockchain.com wallet aside from regular and priority fees option which definitely higher and fixed fees and yes, they aren't supported both native and nested Segwit addresses.  I tend to agree that this web wallet isn't recommendable, there are tons of issues and most commonly poor customer support.

In OP's concern and most of us concerned, the terrible fee of Bitcoin upon having transaction.
I noticed that the Bitcoin transaction fee will increase when there's a bull trend in the market, but when there's a correction, Bitcoin fees will drop.  Not all the time Bitcoin transactions always high, for example, like weekends.  I noticed that it will drop the required amount of fee from mempool when it isn't clogged.  Therefore, there's perfect timing upon making transactions and always check the mempool for the required amount fees before having a transaction.

Probably that's the reason now Bitcoin was treated as a store of a valuable asset, not a daily transaction, just because of the fee, they prefer to hold than spending for every day what so ever the purpose.  But I don't see people switching into altcoins, in fact, Ethereum and Bitcoin had the same situation of having ridiculous fees.  There's nothing we can do as of now about this high fee, in fact, that is the same amount of fraction in satoshi per transaction but the value was increased because the price goes up.

For alternatively avoiding the possible high cost of the fee, encourage everyone to support Bitcoin wallet that supports Lightning Network and use Segwit wallet address, you can at least modefy the fee but not the trasnaction speed.  Just accept that how Bitcoin works.
2464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Government Creates Own Blockchain & Cryptocurrency on: March 09, 2021, 11:50:15 PM
That's also known as CBDC, they want to develop their own centralized currency and tend to replace Bitcoin currency.  As for advice, let them be and let them see what will happen to their creation after knowing that it's always better to HOLD and currency that has a decentralized nature.  This will not give an effect on Bitcoin, still the same as having progress and is based on the demand and supply.

That's right, how this makes sense to have the cheapest fee, can you use this CBDC in future trading?  It might their whole concern is all about the regulation of Bitcoin, since isn't yet regulated to them, it's hard to be accepted by most governments.
2465  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.com Wallet Outage on: March 09, 2021, 11:40:24 PM
They claimed now that this problem/issue has been resolved.

Resolved - This incident has been resolved.
Mar 9, 20:07 UTC

Update - We are continuing to work on a fix for this issue.
Mar 9, 20:07 UTC

There's nothing change to this web wallet, it's always a buggy wallet, and anytime there are unexpected unknown errors from its users.
Poor customer supports and has different issues, I don't think why there are newcomers still using them which is prone to that risk and might losing their fund or longer time to wait for the transaction.

Open-source wallet still the best.
2466  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin balance on exchanges reached a 2-year low on: March 09, 2021, 11:23:06 PM
Or if you are, enable 2FA for logins, 2FA for withdrawals, and a second password for withdrawals if it’s available. Plus make sure your coins are always there by logging in every 4 hours. Hahahaha.

What are the safest exchanges for day-traders? Coinbase?
If people don't trade they prefer to withdraw their Bitcoin off an exchange because there are some of them did not believe or not trusting the exchange because it's vulnerable to a hack.  Even though how many security levels you had on exchange still your Bitcoin isn't safe, not your keys, not your Bitcoin was still the best reminders on us.

Lol, Coinbase? Is that offer SAFU?
There's no safe exchange platform, all of them are at risk and vulnerable to any bad thing that will happen.  I prefer to cash out than let my Bitcoin sleep on an exchnage.
2467  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Low quality topics on: March 09, 2021, 05:46:21 PM
Low-quality topics/posts are in Forum rules 1-15 stated there if you wrote a topic that irrelevant to the forum or in the forum rules, expected that is a low-quality topic which is a common result of deleting by the MODs.

If you reply on the topic post, be always on the topic and it should always in on the discussion related to the OP's topic given, irrelevant means a nonsense post or a low-quality one which is prone to be deleted once it is reported as a low-quality post.

Making a thread on an inappropriate board or section might also consider a low-value post, it might be deleted or move into the right section, it depends on the MOD.
2468  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reminder for crypto newbies, traders. Be cautious with new exchanges on: March 09, 2021, 05:23:46 PM
As I remember in that year (2018) there are too many exchanger platforms that arrive and most of them running a bounty campaign here in the forum.  And yes, they promoting their exchange platforms altogether with the token/coin that based on the name of the exchange.  But as I noticed them, they dont survive and they don't make it to grow at least operated for how months.

It's really hard to trust a new exchanger that newly arise, even though it has offered great promos but still, you need to be careful on depositing a huge amount, it might they exit scam will happen.  Though this is very common that happened and we dont know what is the sole purpose of the owner who runs an exchanger.  Failure of exit scam is a very common thing that happens in most crypto projects back then.

Withdraw your fund after making a profit on the exchanger, don't let sleep your fund on the exchanger, that's not a good practice.
2469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Questions That You Would Like To Ask To The Developer Before You Invest on: March 08, 2021, 11:46:24 PM
In every projects, there's a goal, white paper and roadmap to be followed and if you will ask the developers, of course, they will always prefer the best shot to their projects.  IMO, here are the most important.

  • What can be used of the project to the community and it will be solved the real-world problems?
  • What is the total and the circulating supply of the project?
  • The developer's goal and activity and should be stated on Gihub
  • Is there a real product?
  • Burning token

2470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Paypal make bitcoin mainstream? The website makes me think so... on: March 08, 2021, 11:18:01 PM
I cannot see anything about Bitcoin from the OP.
Yes, it wasn't mentioned but we know that Paypal was accepting Bitcoin and there are too many users of Paypal.  If Paypal's subscribers will keep growing there's a high potential that the awareness of those subscribers towards Bitcoin will keep increasing too.  If you will see on the announcement, these incentives of invites people will become widely popular with Bitcoin and that's the time that we may consider Bitcoin will become more well-known worldwide, in fact, we're already on the mainstream.

This will give a positive effect on Bitcoin price or the entire crypto market, expecting a bullish trend after this.
2471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to decide about fees? is it necessary ? on: March 08, 2021, 11:03:38 PM
Hello, can anybody help with Fees and how to determine how much it should be ? is it associated with amount of bitcoin?
Hi there!
It will depend on which wallet you have used because there's a type of wallet that you can modify fees and while others it has fixed fees based on their wallet.  Electrum wallet has this feature of modifying fees and it has associated with different national currency if what you want, your local currency or dollar currency.

By determining fees that required to the mempool, it has Low, Medium, and High priority fees and for modifying fees that depend on the transaction speed, use this Bitcoin calculator.  It was given there the transaction fee and include the transaction speed that you prefer or for the graphic statistic of Bitcoin transactions, for pending transactions, unconfirmed transactions and mempool size use Johoe's Bitcoin Mempool Statistics.

Quote
some says fee is not required when paying with bitcoin ! and some wallets require you to choose fees !  is it necessary ?
No, there's no way to avoid fees, it's mandatory to have a tip from Bitcoin miners that our all transactions be confirmed.  And I stated above with the wallet that can modify and has a fix fees.

2472  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: cant withdraw from wallet, help on: March 08, 2021, 10:45:47 PM
What OS that you have used in installing the Electrum?  I presume that the OS you've used isn't suitable with the Electrum and make sure you are on the official download website of Electrum, (https://electrum.org/#download) IIRC if that is your issue.

There are too many wallets that you can choose but Electrum for me is still the best wallet that has unique features.  Try to reinstall again and make sure the node is connected to the network.  Electrum is very easy to use.
2473  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Best wallet on: March 07, 2021, 11:35:57 PM
Best wallet should be:

1. Open source
2. Noncustodial
3. Support replace-by-fee
4. Able to spend unconfirmed input
5. Able to make use of child-pay-for-parent using change address UTXO
6. Able to make use of coin control
7. Able to freeze certain addresses, especially against dust attack
8. Able to free certain coins, especially against dust attack
9. Able to generate entropy, send phrase, private keys, public keys and addresses securely and safely
10 Support 2fa, if need be
11. Support multisig, if need be
12. Support nested segwit and native segwit addresses to minimize transaction fees, not only legacy addresses
13. Should have multi-wallet function
14. Should have excellent fee estimating algorithm
I tend to agree with all of these and Electrum wallet is the answer.

Additionally, there's one feature that you forgot to mention.  A Bitcoin wallet that supports Lightning Network, this feature belongs to and considered the best wallet. IMO, the most important feature is open-source and it supported with replace-by-fee.

I recommend always separate your Bitcoin from altcoins wallet. Because a wallet that focussed on one currency like Bitcoin has a strong security level and you will surely be secured.  Storing a big amount of cold storage like a hardware wallet is the best option.
2474  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM ALERT] Coinbase  Giveaway Event FAKE on: March 07, 2021, 10:55:33 PM
This user just woke up from a long period of inactivity and started posting the above link on different boards.
Presumably, that user was an old member here, his post history was claiming of lost account.
That account deserves to be nuked, I have seen different styles of spreading fake events to trap their victims, posting on different local boards.

It's a nice catch OP, that's why I barely join giveaways or even airdrops, they are prone to that fraudster and it might also fake sites that contained malware infections. We should always look into the official website announcement and most importantly, avoid any telegram group or any social media groups that keep spreading fake events.
2475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which crypto do you expect to increase by 10000% in the next couple of years on: March 07, 2021, 06:14:18 PM
I think you already answered your question and everything you've said was right, Bitcoin has many advantages compared to altcoins that don't have.  Even Ethereum was almost there but it was ended up a failure even though it almost the same that Ethereum has partially decentralized smart contract consensus.  Bitcoin will remain on the top and presumable no one can replace it.

The truth is, it's really no one knows what will happen next.

I tend to agree with the post above if there's a huge price hike of any altcoin while having a bear market, that's definitely a hype project.  It always goes with the flow of Bitcoin price IMO.
2476  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Selecting a proper way to store my Bitcoins on: March 07, 2021, 05:41:03 PM
Can you please explain to me in a nutshell, which way is the best as far as security & convenience?
This thread, [General] Bitcoin Wallets - Which, what, why? that was pinned post on this board, it might be good if you read this carefully and understand very well before using and storing your Bitcoin in a secure wallet.  It gives information and ideas on how to have security and the best convenient Bitcoin wallet.

Quote
Say for instance I have bought Bitcoins on an exchange like Binance, how do I transfer those bitcoins to the dedicated wallet?
Transfer your Bitcoin into a safe wallet and has the strong security that you choose.
There's an article from Binance that explained very well on How do I Deposit/Withdraw Cryptocurrency.  That might will help you.

For some devil point purpose, there might potential scammers who read your post and be careful if there's someone sending you a PM, they might offer their help, don't disclose any of your important credentials and login information in your account.  Just publicly ask in here and anyone will help you.
2477  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto trading signal work or not? on: March 07, 2021, 05:04:56 PM
I just want to join paid crypto trading group..anyone pls tell me ,this type of group doing scam or not? and does it work?
Not a scam but i's completely illegal and might the SEC, IIRC were making an action if they know that there is a project that involves such activity due to that law was under by SEC.  That was also known as a "pump and dump" group scheme, but the most will get profit is the one who organized the group and might possible they are playing with all of you as a member, IMO.

So I suggest you avoid this group because there's a high possibility that they might lead you to a loss in trading.  You can trade on your own with the courage of proper research, there's no need to cheat in trading just to earn.  The paid trading group aren't long last, it will always exit altogether with your money.
2478  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam]: Another Uniswap Fake Airdrop on: March 06, 2021, 11:37:32 PM
Lol, I saw similar on this that you need to send a small amount just like Ethereum and they will send back their token right after they receive your Ethereum and yes, I received but until now didn't have value.  So it's a scam, IMO.

It similar to this and it's a very common trick to them offering to double your coin depend on what amount you have sent.  I thought airdrop is totally free, but why users required to send UNI first, it obviously looks suspicious and those who are greedy people will probably their first victim.

Anyway, is anyone here already report the scam Ethereum address that the scammer used?
https://info.etherscan.com/report-address/

Thank you for sharing this OP.
2479  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud mining with Shamining on: March 06, 2021, 11:22:07 PM
Check how trustpilot remove reviews and warn people that there are lots of fake reviews on their review page, probably came from the same user.
I don't even trust the TrustPilot review, most of the review contents are fake and usually, it's obvious that owned by one person trying to manipulate their trust, that is a tactic of the fraud sites.

I don't trust cloud mining, I have scammed twice on this and I'll not let my self fooled again by them, they are claiming that they owned mining facilities and mining machines but they don't have proof to show, or stealing other mining images just to easy to fool people.

Always have verified information regarding the company that you're planning to start an investment in.  I rather stay away from this and instead, invest my money in Bitcoin directly.

It might be helpful if you read this article.
2480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Coinbase Pro on: March 06, 2021, 10:53:15 PM
OH sorry about that ... im in the UK. Thanks
IIRC, Coinbase supports a British pound (GBP) and Euro currency but you can't directly buy on the Coinbase pro exchange platform.
Those bank transfers will take approximately takes 3-5 days in business days, at least you aware of this and not being frustrated waiting days for your transaction to be confirmed fast.

It might be good if you will read this article that made by Coinbase for more awareness.
https://help.coinbase.com/
Just bear in mind that they had poor support.

Alternatively, you can buy on Bestchange or Binance exchange platforms or do your own research.
