I will definitely bring it up again when the voting system being implemented. This should be decided by the community.

Good, this will be a crucial decision. The sooner, it's brought up, the better. We need the voting system in NXT set up asap.

I actually think the market is doing fine....it's developing beyond my expectations....Bitcoin never had to face this type of environment...as noone knew it existed in the beginning and no one cared about distribution and that didn't kill it.

@ Aldrin,
We will start a contest where the 10 best ideas for a client feature or application which would help Nxt grow over the next 5 years.
Total Development Fund Needed: Nxt 2,000,000
I can immediately start the thread where idea's can be deposited....Final voting can begin in a weeks time.
What do you guys think?

I agree with Aldrin that we need to let it grow naturally and see proven results before we spend funds.
Having a contest for 10 best ideas is good, but who will guarantee the implemetation. I would love to doante when I know someone like nexern/jean luc/cfb for example is standing behind it. This apply to software development, marketing and all other areas.
I don't have the time to do it myself, but I'll be happy to continue donating.

it would be managed just like the bounty system....once they deliver the feature/application then they get the bounty....so they can be sure if they invest time and energy into their idea they will get the bounty at the end.

200,000 Nxt is not a small amount.

I have an idea which would help distribute some of your Nxt and also help Nxt develop for the long term.

We will start a contest where the 10 best ideas for a client feature or application which would help Nxt grow over the next 5 years.

We would be open to entries from all Nxters and the community will vote for the best 10 ideas which would get funding.

The development fund would be managed by those currently in charge of the bounty program.

10 idea's each get 200,000 NXT to implement their feature or application to the Nxt ecosystem.

Total Development Fund Needed: Nxt 2,000,000

I can immediately start the thread where idea's can be deposited....Final voting can begin in a weeks time.

I think he mentioned yesterday that he has been selling at a steady rate since the beginning.

Ah, ok I missed that.

Aldrin doesn;t want to crash the market....I think his approach is very wise at the present moment.

He has been moving his stake down from 5% to 1% of Nxt....which is an 80% reduction.

He sets a very good example for others to follow.

just one idea comes to my mind, one day, the nxt spread so widely, of course, price going up,1 nxt worth to piece of hamburger, but when i buy it,i have to pay the extra 1 nxt for the transaction fee. it's so bad! Smiley
is there anyone knows about after 3rd jan, the transaction fee will reduce or remain the same?

Nxt will have .001 like mBTC...once rate gets higher.

NXT is ahead of Namecoin on trade volume now, on #4 spot.

How could it NOT be? ...they 're sucking them up at dirt cheap prices!   Wink

Ripple doesn't exist....it's half the volume of Quark

It is real.

BCNext WROTE:

Here is an example

I want to run a business.  I issue an asset (let's call it Krusty Krab tokens - KKT).  I set quantity of KKT to 1000.  I announce that I sell KKT for 20 NXT each and pay 5 NXT monthly interest within next 6 months.  I create an ask order -- 1000 KKT for 20,000 NXT.  You create a transaction that sends me 500 NXT for 25 KKT.  It's up to you what to do with your 25 KKT (you can place an ask order and sell them for 27 NXT) but each month I will check the blockchain to see who owns KKT.  And I will send 5 NXT for each KKT to those who owns them.

I know that peercover's gateway is automated in both directions.

They are also finalizing a trading page that will allow trading. I have not seen it yet, but it sounds like you won't need to open special accts and it will automatically handle the exchange using mostly client side code.

Not sure how Jared is implementing it, all I know is his stuff is solid and very cool

James

So why can;t we do it too.....as I mentioned THE NXT ASSET EXCHANGE is ready....we are just waiting for the client from Nexern...its not rocket science to see the potential.

2472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 29, 2013, 07:22:41 PM
I AM JUST PROPOSING WE AUTOMATE DGEX AND SET IT AS THE FIRST AUTONOMOUS CORPORATION TRADED ON THE NXT ASSET EXCHANGE.

PEOPLE JUST WANT A SAFE PLACE TO DEPOSIT/TRADE/WITHDRAW....A SAFE GATEWAY FOR NXT.

I REPEAT WE AUTOMATE DGEX AND ISSUE SHARES ON NXT ASSET EXCHANGE.

SIMPLE...EASY...

Dgex belongs to Mr. Graviton. You could persuade him listing in NXT asset exchange by emailing him and asking him so. And please stop spreading the bull concept of DAC. They belong to invictus and pro to share group.

I use Gdex so that you may have a conceptual picture/framework in your mind....it can be any other exchange......I'm not even excited about the exchange per sec...im more interested in how the IPO process will work...how  I will be able to trade shares on the Asset exchange....If I don;t want to trade Nxt....I just trade my shares....IT'S ANOTHER DRIVER FOR NXT!.similar to forging....& share holders also get monthly dividends based on their holdings.....I think this is what Mr. James has been pushing.

2473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 29, 2013, 07:16:57 PM

withdrawal are now handled manually....but deposits are automated.

landomata,

I see a couple of issues with a NXT/BTC gateway. First problem is that there is no guarantee it will be a monopoly and almost a sure thing that there will be multiple issuers of BTC within NXT.

What most people here don't realize is that the entire trust the issuer problem has been ignored. Over in ripple-land, that is the single biggest hurdle for any gateway.

The other issue is competition. I know that peercover isn't charging fees for their ripple gateway and so it is quite possible someone will setup a free service to be a BTC gateway into NXT.

Of course, there is nothing to stop anybody from taking the ball and running with it. Just offering my take on it

James

It may not be a monopoly in the world but it will be the ONLY Gateway for BTC/NXT on the Asset Exchange....you will need some form of Gateway to deposit/withdraw either NXT or BTC for example from Nxt Asset Exchange ....JUST AS IN DGEX HOMEPAGE....we deposit/withdraw/Trade and pay a fee in the process like any normal exchange.

Its basically GDEX automated and linked to the Nxt Asset Exchange....who cares if there are other competitors....other competitors are not gonna pay out monthly dividents to share holders.....other competitors are not gonna have their shares traded in the NXT Asset exchange ....I repeat the NXT ASSET EXCHANGE IS READY!

I am not a dev...so I can;t code this but I don;t think it would be difficult....I would surely invest in this....and also trade the shares and many would cuz they can profit from price movements.

IT WOULD ALSO BE INNOVATIVE and could act as a template for other decentralized autonomous corporation....and the main exchange to list would be the NXT ASSET EXCHANGE....cuz it has a liquid and developed marketplace....if NXT doesn;t do this somebody else will.

2476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 29, 2013, 06:42:26 PM
CfB,

I suggest that we encapsulate each new NXT feature that generates its own transaction fees into a NXTcompany. I am assuming we can accurately track each NXTcompany's transaction fees and that is the equivalent of the traditional revenue statement. A NXTcompany will usually have no, or minimal costs, at least I think that is the case as once the software is developed, we might need a few custom servers, but mostly just manpower to nurture each NXTcompany. The profit calculation will simply be the difference between total transaction fees minus whatever costs, if any. If any additional costs are needed, it could be funded from sales of IPO shares, individual contributions, etc.

Dear James,

I feel our thinking is going in the right direction....I had propose a few days back that we create a Decentralized autonomous corporation called (NXT/BTC Gateway) which will collect a fix transaction fee when ever anyone deposit or withdraws Nxt or BTC from the NXT Asset Exchange.

Nxt/BTC Gateway would issue shares thru IPO on the Nxt Asset Exchange....on the last day of each month the fees collected would be divided up and distributed based on each account share holding.  -- MONTHLY DIVIDENTS

The shares of NXT/BTC Gateway will also be TRADED on the Nxt Asset exchange....so its will depend on supply and demand -- Basic Stock Trading

The NXT/BTC Gateway cannot fail because it is a gateway into the NXT asset Exchange....noone can trade on the NXT Asset Exchange using NXT or BTC without going thru the BTC/NXT Gateway.

THIS WOULD BE A WORLD FIRST.....TOTALLY AUTONOMOUS CORPORATION....I THINK THIS IS DOABLE.

THE NXT ASSET EXCHANGE IS READY (ITS DONE)....so we can try this IMMEDIATELY!

@ Ricky

Why does it matter ....many buyers want to keep it there rather than withdraw it....so yes it did change hands...even though we can't really tell.

Edit: Better measurement would be total deposits....no one deposits to Dgex just for safe keeping.

For all android users, by installing "meta widget" on android, you can easily create a widget showing the price from www.dgex.com. I did it on my phone, took only 5 minutes, unfortunately i cannot copy it and post it, need to be done individually.
