2461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Medical student wins lottery 5 times after embezzling graduation funds on: January 29, 2023, 09:30:42 AM
I think this is a clear case of gambling addiction. Any gambler that goes to the extent of using another people's funds at his/her disposal to gamble needs help because such person has lost control of his gambling behavior.
Yes it is gambling addiction, but as she misappropriated public money, it is indiscipline and an act of theft which can result to jail term. It is truly an addiction but this kind of addiction is stupidity. I have been addicted before, but not with public money. For gambling, gamblers should only gamble with their own money, but like I said before, some go to the extent of using their parents money to gamble, that is stupidity too. Gamblers should always know that the consequences of gambling can be fatal if using high amount of money, gambling should just be for fun.
2462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UK fines online casino for only asking KYC from winning gamblers on: January 29, 2023, 09:20:08 AM
Some people have chosen crypto gambling because they prefer to keep their identities in private and they don't want to expose their identities for some reason. If they will just keep in mind that complying with the KYC is no big deal then they won't make it a big issue. They Shouldn't fear KYC anymore because most casinos nowadays require it. It's also for our own safety and so far, I haven't heard any bad feedback about KYCs.
It is true that some people want to gamble and also want to have privacy, but casinos too now centralized casinos, they can make anyone to do KYC at anytime, people need to change that type of no KYC thinking, even when there are still some casinos that you may not provide KYC documents beige you will withdraw.

KYC is not for the safety of users. Because you do KYC for your gambling site account, it does not mean your account is safe or that you can not be scammed, you can still be scammed if you do not practice safety and security measures. KYC is for regulation purposes, not for the safety of users.
2463  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tutored or you learned how to trade? on: January 29, 2023, 09:09:24 AM
They say an old man has more rags than a young person. It means that a teacher has made more mistakes than the student. I couldn't agree more when it comes to mentorship. However, this doesn't mean that the student won't make any silly mistakes, it means that the student won't make the same mistake the mentor or tutor made.
Trading is more complicated than that, it is very possible that emotion can set in and the person being tutored can make the same mistake or even the worse ones than his tutor, but if he can do away from emotion and trade appropriately, he may not make the mistake, also by using low amount of money. Another thing is that it is easy to teach people how to trade, but it is difficult to teach people how to make money from trading, what tells that the tutor is even good in using trading to make money.
2464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there gambling games/sports that suits a particular gender the more? on: January 28, 2023, 04:11:53 PM
This is not related to gambling to me, it looks more of off-topic.

Gambling is not gender based, gamble with the games you have fun with while playing.
2465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Medical student wins lottery 5 times after embezzling graduation funds on: January 27, 2023, 07:56:05 PM
She won some times but the net profit is a loss, It was said that she even gambled daily, it would be a loss for everyday gambler while gambling with people's money that can bring poor mindset towards gambling, resulting to losses. She did not think of the consequences if she lost part or all the money. That is not a small amount of money at all and I see this as an act of indiscipline. People can still be thinking to gamble with their own money or parents money in a way that nothing like jail term or prison will be involved, unlike using public money for it. I am not saying it is good to gamble with parent's money, all are bad and only little amount should be used on gambling. Gambling should be for working class people and the working class should spend less than 5% of his or her income on gambling.
2466  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Retracement will finally happen on: January 27, 2023, 07:31:07 AM
I checked the weekly candles when the bull run started and I predicted that $23000 may be the resistance that retracement may occur and it is happening like that, I used BB and RSI for the analysis, but there is possibility of the price to increase a little above the overbought market which is indicated by the upper band, because it is weekly candles, the price range is huge a little and it is around $25000 which makes me think that even if bitcoin increase above $23000, it may not go beyond $25000. Today I check the daily candle stick, it is showing a pattern that bitcoin may also rise to $25000 before the retracement, but analyses can be wrong.
2467  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Limit Orders Work (Binance) on: January 26, 2023, 03:59:15 PM
2.) You set a limit a price that below the current sell price which equivalent to market order.
I think he just want to understand what limit order is, but if I am wrong and it is like he lost money while he used limit order, probably he went for a low marketcap coin or a coin that has very low trading volume, but I am still doubting if Binance list low trading volume coins. These are the coins that their order are filled with a price that will not favour a trader but to lose some amount of money and the reasons that can cause it is when market order is used for the coin or the reason you mentioned that I quote.
2468  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Limit Orders Work (Binance) on: January 26, 2023, 03:52:21 PM
A limit order (sell) means to be executed if the price touches the order price not above prices, I am correct? Example:
Yes. Just take an example like this, if you want to sell something and you put a low price on it, this will encourage people to buy what you want to sell. In a limit sell order, the order will be filled when the mark price get to the limit order you set, or a price below. If the price is below before, the order would be filled immediately at the market price, just like using a market order.
2469  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Source Of funds on HitBTC on: January 26, 2023, 03:19:16 PM
Do not use HitBTC, they have high transaction fee and they do seize users coin or freeze users account, asking the user to provide KYC documents.

Hello all, tell me what documents are required HitBTC?
Normal documents like driver's license, national identity card or international passport. It has been long I used the exchange, because of high withdrawal fee and when many people are complaining about freezing of their account.
2470  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Basefex fraud, cannot take fund out on: January 25, 2023, 08:51:05 AM
The website in question has been created only 130 days ago and I would never trust such a website.
It is a scam.

the URL is https://www.basefex[dot]global/
This is a scam, always use the legit URL, you can check Coingecko or Coinmarketcap for the correct URL of an exchange site if you do not know it.

This is BaseFEX legit URL: https://www.basefex.com/

Better to report it to a domain registrar: How to report the scammers to registrar

But if you can get in touch with the exchange customer care or on their social media handle, you can report to them to take legal against against those similar domains that scam users like that.
2471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Common Online Gambling Fraud on: January 25, 2023, 08:34:54 AM
Thanks to cryptocurrency, we can somehow avoid this kind of fraud. But it is prone for some Bitcoin or any cryptocurrency wallets that have been hacked and they will use the funds for gambling, after the scammer/hacker got the funds from someone, then they can deposit it to a gambling platform, which is almost the same of this Credit Card Fraud. But I think, the gambling platform for this is already out for this matter.
For a person wallet to be hacked and coin stolen, it is similar to credit card fraud but not the same and they have some differences too. With credit card fraud, it may be possible that the thief is known, I have seen many cases like that, that the fund is traced to the thief. But there are some ways that creditt card fraud will not lead to any trace too. With cryptocurrencies, tracing it is possible but most likely no one want to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to trace little amount of money. With crypto, the thief can have the knowledge to make the transaction to be untraceable too in a way the transaction will not be linked to a gambling site address is what I am talking about.
2472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UK fines online casino for only asking KYC from winning gamblers on: January 25, 2023, 08:22:16 AM
It is good idea too but many feels its too much to give their KYC details for like they want to try the casino with small amount and in future they will actually play there or not that is why casinos usually ask for KYC when the withdrawal request comes for big amounts, and of course casinos maybe using this as a tool to stop paying the actual winnings from their customer on many cases.
I remember a time I did not have drivers license nor international passport, all I depended on was temporary national identity card, the card is accepted locally but not accepted internationally except when Binance noticed many people in my country have not registered after mandating KYC, but people are using the temporary national identity card and failed, later Binance have no option than to accept it. I was over 18 years but not having the important document for KYC purpose on many sites including gambling site because of the paper temporary national identity card. Assuming I deposit little amount of money on a gambling site, won big, this would be a problem for people like me to withdraw.
2473  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bye Bye Bear Market :) on: January 24, 2023, 08:46:09 AM
What I know is that indicators can fail, but long term sentiment has not been failing yet, the price of bitcoin is still low, for anyone that has money he is not using for long time, he can buy bitcoin, the price may reduce but we are still going above $50000. Going above $50000 may not be this time, it can be in this year or next year.

I use weekly BB and RSI indicator, what I predicted before is that bitcoin would increase above $23000 which would be a resistant price, but getting to $25000 is possible because there can be more overbought market, the upper band has been attained now but the market can be bullish a bit more. But because of the weekly BB overbought market, bitcoin price may drag around this price, finding it difficult to go higher for now. But I am still expecting above $30000 this year though.
2474  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading or Investing in the stock market on: January 24, 2023, 08:34:57 AM
Which is the best?  Trading on bitcoin or investing in the stock market? The battle between short period earning and long-term earning. Share your thought about it.
Bitcoin is crypto, stocks are stocks and they have their own exchange. You can invest long term or short term in both. What is your question? Long term investment versus trading?

If it is bitcoin, long term  investment is far better than trading because trading is riskier and only few people actually make profit from trading unlike investment that is meant for everyone to make profit.
2475  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Basefex fraud, cannot take fund out on: January 24, 2023, 08:15:34 AM
Thanks, everybody for the help. They still haven't replied to me yet. Now I think they're scammers.

I can share more about my story later after I process my feelings.
What is their URL? We need to know that. Before sites that lists coins and exchanges like Coingecko and Coinmarketcap can list this exchange, it may be possible that they have headquarter and possible that they are traceable. What scammers use to do is that they find a domain name similar to a legit exchange domain name and use it to be scamming people, that is the reason I said you should let us know the correct URL for us to know if you are talking about the legit site or a fake one.
2476  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance P2P - any experience/opinions? on: January 23, 2023, 10:24:33 PM
Not sure what you mean. Cryptos do not have to be "legalized" at all, they are legal if they're not banned. And I don't think any central bank in the world supports (meaning uses) crypto transactions, nor do they generally have the mandate to regulate cryptos (they usually can issue recommendations).
The government do not ban crypto and have law that legalize it, it means it is legal. All crypto transactions are legal.

Central bank ban crypto but the government do not have any law about it, it means it is not illegal. People will move to p2p.

If the government have laws and the law illegalize crypto, it is illegal but decentralized p2p can be the only option as centralized exchanges can be banned from the country, or the centralized exchanges restrict users from the restricted countries

How was your experience on Binance specifically? Were you buying or selling? How long did it take for the transaction to get fully completed and was it easy to use?
It is not hard to use. Transaction can be very fast like taking just 2 to 5 minutes, transaction can also take more minutes if the buyer or seller do not respond in time.
2477  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Basefex fraud, cannot take fund out on: January 23, 2023, 10:09:41 PM
What is the URL of the exchange? Is it https://www.basefex.com/

If you are asked to pay more money, that are scammers trying to scam you the more, but I am surprised that the exchange is seen as a legit exchange but turning to scammers now.

My advice is that you should use a popular exchanges like Binance, Coinbase, Kucoin...
2478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UK fines online casino for only asking KYC from winning gamblers on: January 23, 2023, 09:47:36 PM
If those new regulations are passed they will affect not only fiat casinos but cryptocurrency casinos will have to eventually follow them as well, do you agree with this idea? Would you like to see casinos to be fined more often for the practice of only asking for personal information from winning gamblers or do you think this will have a harmful effect on their finances?
For KYC casinos, it would be good if people that are signing up should do KYC before they can deposit.

It is a very good idea but it would be good for punters to always read casino ToS before they register and they should provide necessary documents for KYC, they should do KYC before they deposit.

Many gambling sites are doing this to cheat their customers, it is common everywhere.
2479  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance P2P - any experience/opinions? on: January 23, 2023, 09:38:08 PM
I can get the technicalities from Binance FAQs and guidance, but struggling to understand who would actually use P2P Trading for buying, as it seems more expensive than the traditional way of using bank cards or fiat deposits. Is it targeted at people from jurisdictions where banks are banning transfers to crypto exchanges?
P2p is still available in countries that completely legalize cryptocurrencies, but if the central bank in your country do not support crypto transactions, you can move to p2p.

Has anyone ever used Binance P2P at all and would like to share their experience? Any feedback, whether from buyers or sellers, is welcome.
I have used it, also on some other exchanges, it is good to use if you do not bother about privacy, but bad for privacy people because KYC is needed.

  • 5. Credit Card Fraud
At gambling websites, it is very typical to see thieves using stolen credit cards. If they can get the card to work, they can quickly and easily cash out. Cybercriminals can use a stolen credit card to top up an online casino account. From there, they can withdraw in cryptocurrency.
That is why it is good to protect your phone against sim swap attack, if OTP is not received, the scam will not be successful. But the most important thing is to protect your card pin, if protected and not known to scammers, they will not be able to withdraw from your bank. In my country, this type of scam is common, the scammer will call you, doing as if they are from your bank, ask you about an OTP sent to your phone or asking about your pin. There are some that do not require pin, but do not give scammer OTP sent to your phone, even do not bother to talk with them at all.
