2461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Profiting from holding Altcoins... on: October 22, 2014, 01:29:49 AM
The idea is that moment you hear any significant news and having all the forum account talking on the same tone, that is your buy signal. Just check out cann coin and you can see how news announcement have influenced it. You are a forex trader. You should know very well
2462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin, Quarkcoin, Peercoin, AsiaCoin on: October 22, 2014, 01:23:33 AM
Well i made a wrong decision buying some the altcoins that you mentioned and ended losing. I have since sold off and for the the moment a huge chunk is in btc and only a tiny fraction left in ripple. I still see a potential in xrp though. If i ever want to buy altcoin it has to be written totally ground up from scratch not some rip off of btc codes
2463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin Andresen does an IAmA on reddit on: October 22, 2014, 01:17:33 AM
One thing that catches my attention is the answer on hard fork. According to him it will be early next year so it will be exciting to see what would happen from here
2464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin users are mining BTC for hackers and do not know about that on: October 22, 2014, 12:57:44 AM
Not necessarily bitcoin. It can be any other altcoins which can cpu mine and then exchange for bitcoin. Op still has a point. We have seen new computers preinstalled with miner so why not in cracked software.
2465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin Andresen Proposes Bitcoin Hard Fork to Address Network Scalability on: October 21, 2014, 11:32:01 AM
I just worry about the negative impact when the hard fork is taking place especially put into consideration the size of network we are having right now. I mean what if somebody plans a out scheme that manipulates the network during the switch over. But then if we think again, if we don't do it now, then the question is when are we going to do it. As the network grows there can never be the right time.... and we really need to plan, prepare and anticipate for the future.
2466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Explaining Bitcoin in a Limerick on: October 21, 2014, 11:21:28 AM
For it's controlled by nobody... (just my view)

In Bitcoin world
It's common for price up ten fold
Truth be told
It is good as gold
Makes the paper money feel cold

How's that? Lol
2467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's see what you know about Bitcoin... on: October 21, 2014, 11:07:33 AM
The idea of a quiz sounds nice but is there a way to actually do a spped test without registering or providing signup email. Also is the test free in the first place?
2468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Not everything is lost... on: October 21, 2014, 11:01:40 AM
That's the downside of trading. Not everyone knows about circle or fully aware which place to get the best price for their stuff. The ebay fees sure cuts in a lot
2469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC offer more jobs for developing countries on: October 21, 2014, 10:52:40 AM
One thing i can see an advantage would be everyone can get job paid in btc considered as a universal currency. Probably people can just quote btc value rather than btc then to convert to fiat and that is when foods and other necessity items are all priced in btc. Here you can really save on the exchange rate
2470  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BTC to the MOON!! on: October 21, 2014, 10:43:04 AM
Moon is for other crypto. We have probably reached that stage when btc price from practically few cents already hit 1000. We need to set higher standard probably Mars... what do you guys think
2471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How IT people waste their time to making BTC sites, who do not have users on: October 20, 2014, 12:55:37 PM
People don't waste their time. Every investment has a chance for a good return and there is every bit of opportunity to reap. Take example of bitcoin during the early stage. Most people might be thinking why waste time on something which has no value? Like myself, i actually heard of bitcoin much earlier but chose to ignore. Well, if a person don't think out of the box, he will just be any average person there is.
2472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have a Bitcoin debit card in my hands... on: October 20, 2014, 12:38:37 PM
Sounds interesting. Does it actually auto convert the fund on your behalf at the prevailing rate when you make purchases in btc? Any additional fee for that?
2473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Bitcoin Collection on: October 20, 2014, 12:29:07 PM
If you worry that your antminer is not being utilized then use it to mine ppc and then to convert to btc. I saw the hype earlier about nubits that pushed ppc price to 3 fold and then now is slowly retrace back. So you better be sure you are making the right decision. Also to convince you on a fact, didn't you notice that all  altcoins are using btc price set as benchmark. If that is not strong enough to make a point
2474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Obama’s credit card denied at restaurant on: October 20, 2014, 12:09:08 PM
At least one good thing about bitcoin is that it don't let you spend money in advance. People get into debts with credit card so i don't see that going to happen with bitcoin. It will be a selling point on 'advantage of using btc'
2475  Economy / Speculation / Re: Random thoughts on flash crashes on: October 20, 2014, 12:03:32 PM
I believe the problem here is that some people buy with margin and hedge their position using money that they don't actually own. So it is a margin call or forced sell by the traders to protect their position.
Another potential scenario is that people might be rushing to sell to mitigate substantial loss. It's like panic selling.
2476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: List of Major Bitcoin Heists, Thefts, Hacks, Scams, and Losses on: October 20, 2014, 11:58:38 AM
Though the list is interesting and informative, it can actually puts bitcoin in a negative spotlight. It will give an impression that holding on to btc is not safe but actually is not true which are all based on our own due diligence.
2477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Artwork sold for 35 BTC in Inside Bitcoins Tel Aviv on: October 20, 2014, 11:54:22 AM
Good. This type of news will surely get the attention and indirectly help to promote bitcoin. Anyway nice painting with a hidden meaning
2478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ebola's affect on Bitcoin? on: October 20, 2014, 11:51:21 AM
Potentially if government becomes desperate due to uncontrolled outbreak and simply print fiat, btc might become useful.
Or btc becomes a medium of exchange whereby there is no risk of catching infection as what bodily fluids get passes on to paper money
2479  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Careful with BTC loans on: October 20, 2014, 11:46:28 AM
If only things are as simple as the word 'trust' means. There is no such thing as guarantee. I mean you don't know who is behind that screen. There is no black and white or digital agreement. Even then, if that person defaults what are you going to do? law doesn't apply. Conclusion... for that level of risk, i would rather earn nothing but stay safe with the money
2480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The name of Bitcoin on: October 20, 2014, 11:39:35 AM
The name 'Bitcoin' is perfect. It's simple, brandable and easy to remember. Can't think of anything better than bitcoin. Perhaps like Digicoin, Bytecoin but never mind i still stick to bitcoin
