1  Economy / Economics / Re: Forgoten Greece on: November 02, 2015, 02:03:35 PM
Well, it has no end in sight alright. At this stage, I don't how they are going to secure further funding and whether creditors will continue to provide the money without concrete measures being put in place to reduce the debt. And looks like it is going from bad to worse with no solution in sight to tackle it.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Seperate bitcoin from the internet (in the long term) on: November 02, 2015, 01:53:56 PM
I think the radiowave idea sounds applicable. Other than that, I can't really imagine other alternatives. Maybe bluetooth will work but not sure if there will be limitations as to how far and how fast information will get transmitted. More or less, if something bad were to happen with all internet connection down, at least the coins are still safe until we managed to find internet connection to access it again.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll: How high will this current bull run go? on: November 02, 2015, 01:03:09 PM
Well, I actually voted 375 few days earlier but looking at the current scenario, probably it will even hit 400 before it will retrace slightly and from there continue the charge to move further upwards. Just hope for the best because once we have a breakthrough, it will have the possibilityy to go up insanely high to a level we never would have thought to occur.
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the runup being driven by the MMM Global Ponzi? on: November 02, 2015, 12:59:46 PM
I'm not sure exactly how it would work but assuming the guy is running some kind of ponzi scheme, wouldn't he be collecting the fund for himself and then use part of the fund from the newcomers to pay the early joiners? And why would he put the price into bitcoin. And somehow you will need a lot of funding to actually push up the market to that scale. Like I've said earlier, I'm still skeptical whether the recent rally and this is somehow related.
5  Economy / Speculation / Re: Revaluation has just begun! on: November 02, 2015, 12:53:21 PM
I like your choice of statement with the use of the word revaluation. I think the economist front page article has certainly injected new hope to give bitcoin some boost. This will help to spread the message outside the circle of people especially to those who are new to bitcoin and especially alsofor those who probably knows about bitcoin but have ignored it all this while.
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: November is looking promising - up $20 for 1st day of the month on: November 02, 2015, 12:48:46 PM
Alas, finally something for us to look forward to with full optimism. The price has been lingering at the bottom level for too long and it's only fair that right now, things are finally changing for the better. I expect with the halving which is going to take place mid of next year, we should see more similar rallies like this giving us hope.
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: wow dead cat bounce. surprise! on: November 02, 2015, 12:45:06 PM
So much for you dead cat bounce theory. Right now at 335, the bitcoin price seems to continue the rally seen since last week and I expect to see it going up further higher and maintain this momentum. There is also a high possibility for a breakthrough to take place and with a new support level being established very soon.
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: What price should I buy at? on: November 02, 2015, 12:40:59 PM
Well I've been monitoring the buy orders at several exchangers and at this stage, it doesn't seem to show that there is a shortage of buyers. The decision is still up to you to finalize but in this condition it will be too difficult to predict the outcome. I think buying small but frequent will help to spread out the risks and have you get the price averaged out.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This saturday, the BITFILM FESTIVAL 2015, will screen some great Bitcoin films on: November 02, 2015, 12:30:25 PM
Sounds great. It doesn't matter which of these film take the winner's award but more important is that If each and every film gets shared, imagine the positive impact it would bring to spread the bitcoin message. What we need here is obviously more and more publicity to drive bitcoin adoption.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don't understand why banks and companies are hyping "blockchain" on: November 02, 2015, 12:24:42 PM
I think their plan is based onto something like creating a public trustful open ledger system where everyone, or I mean banks or customers can see what is the transaction movements that are taking place. I'm not sure by doing that, is their intention really focused on creating a virtual currency and then paying miners with rewards to actually secure the network.
11  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin surpassed $300 USD. on: October 31, 2015, 03:11:24 PM
In current circumstance everything seems great but it is still better to be cautious.
I was planning to buy some but this sudden rise made me worried for bigger drop.

I would thread cautiously as well. The best indicator should be coming during the few weeks ahead which should give us a signal whether this increase will be sustainable. It will give us a hint on the direction that it is moving towards. If it continues to go up, we should see a breakthrough that will bring us to a new high and support level.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Rising Numbers on: October 31, 2015, 02:59:22 PM
Why not? It has all the features and I bet you've read all of it. Right now, it is probably under priced and have the best chance to rise further due to the removal of restrictions placed by the Chinese government. My target price at this moment is 500 level. I know a lot of people put hope on the $1000 but I think we still have a long way to go. Anything is possible.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin + GPS + Drones + Dead Drops / Kidnapping on: October 31, 2015, 02:40:32 PM
Well, there is quite a dilemma here. If we intend to implement control, we won't get to enjoy the privacy and freedom that we want. And that means registering every bitcoin transaction and tracking the ins and outs conversion to fiat but even, then it may not be effective. I guess that's part and parcel of everything. If we are concerned about these things getting out of hand, the only way is to revert back but that is also not an option. I'm sure we'll figure out something. As for now, there's nothing much we can do.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin will return to the heyday?$10.000? why? on: October 31, 2015, 12:24:57 PM
did I miss something over here? Heyday to my understanding indicated the good old days when and where it were and since bitcoin never touches 10000, how is that going to reflect things accurately in the first place? Probably at best, we should right now aim for the 1000 level that we achieved previously before we start thinking of something else.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many times a day do you check the price? on: October 31, 2015, 12:21:34 PM
Well it all depends on the price. These few days had me checking on the price on coinmarketcap almost every half hour and clearly I was undecided whether I should buy more or just sell some of my stash. It's certainly exciting to see it changing quickly and finally breaching the 300 level. It will be even more interesting next week to see whether it can sustain at this level.
16  Economy / Economics / Re: Why has the world agreed that an ounce of gold is worth 50 U.S. dollars? on: October 31, 2015, 12:10:49 PM
Well I'm don't have a direct answer for it but i was told the face value was affixed some time ago more like a benchmark and it stays until today even though when inflation has picked up considerably. Whatever it is, regardless what the numbers appear I'm sure people will know how to judge and give a value to it. It's the actual value that is important not the face value. Face value is just the worth assigned by the government to denominate a coin's price as a form of legal tender and that's all to it.
17  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why is buying/selling Bitcoin so difficult? on: October 31, 2015, 11:57:59 AM
I think it's pretty standard that you have to go through all the verification process and sending in the information but you can always opt for another method by having a one-to-one meetup and doing a live instant transfer. Not sure if you have it there, but where I live we have something like a local bitcoin club where you can actually meetup with people sharing the same interest. I met few of fellow enthusiast through that channel myself and they are more than happy to help out newbies looking to buy small amount of coins.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is "outdated", the blockchain is the "new Bitcoin" on: October 31, 2015, 11:42:23 AM
No it's not. Although you are right to point out that the core to everything lies on the blockchain, more or less the technology and bitcoin itself is almost inseparable. I know attempts have been made by banks to utilize the blockchain technology but the idea behind its use still goes back to the decentralized function. That is something what bitcoin is about.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin vs other Contactless payment options on: October 31, 2015, 11:39:39 AM
Well although bitcoin is not completely anonymous at least it doesn't give away some of those basic information associated with other payment options. I imagine one of the major advantages it holds is when it comes to international money transfer where you can actually save a lot on the fees that the others charge.
20  Economy / Speculation / Re: Theory : China began using wash trading to hide large buyers entering the market on: October 31, 2015, 02:41:22 AM
I'm not sure whether there might be manipulation going on but it looks like this time round the price has been pretty steady on the uptrend. For now I expect price to be moving further upwards and we should have a clearer indication perhaps in few weeks time. Just like in the past experience, whatever signs it may be showing, I would just remain cautious.
